Change

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, the humidity is much lower today, and the air is cooler, but still sunshiny and fairly warm. It will continue to get much cooler until we reach lows of the forties on Thursday. I am just spoiled because it has been such a warm winter!

Yesterday I tackled just one shelf in the linen closet, and found things I had forgotten were in there. I am now starting another bag for the Salvation Army I have filled one and am ready for another, but first I have to go grocery shopping. I finished up my blackeyed peas with sauteed red bell pepper and sweet onions the day after New Year's, so I need more veggies.

There are a couple of cats roaming this neighborhood and they are not feral cats. They belong to a man who lives behind Kim, my cleaning lady and they are using my yard and others as litter boxes. Matthew stepped in a pile when he was here and tracked it into the house, so they had a time cleaning that up and also his shoe. I know the man, but apparently, he does not have a phone. So I am in a dilemma about what to do to tell him to keep his cats at home. If only they were indoor cats!

I watered my hanging porch plants yesterday, and got a little water on myself from reaching so high, but they are still pretty and doing well. They are Christmas gifts from my boys! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Where can I find security and hope in the midst of tumult and change?

Lamentations 5:10 Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne
continues from generation to generation.

Malachi 3:6 I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants
of Jacob are not already completely destroyed.

James 1:17 Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above,
who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting
shadows.

Hebrews 13:6 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Both our security and our hope are rooted in God's unchanging
character. People will make promises one day but disappoint us the next.
Sin or circumstances beyond their control prevent them from keeping
their promises. God's faithfulness and love, however, are not subject to
the fluctuations of time, space or human mortality. We will never suffer
because of God's fickle whims, irrational mood swings or inability to
handle the circumstances.

(I am having plastic surgery on my nose tomorrow to remove a basal cell,so
I will not be sending the Gator Bytes. Please pray all goes well.)

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Plans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have had such beautiful, warm weather for the past few days, it will seem like a drastic change when the cold front comes through in a couple days!

The weather was just about perfect the week Daryl and Matthew were here. Of course, after leaving the chilly weather in TN, anything warmer than 60 degrees felt good to them. But they had plenty of good sunshine to ride around in and visit all the places  they wanted to, including the beaches and various restaurants. I was really glad to have them for awhile!

We had a large crowd at church yesterday for both services and there seems to be an air of excitement over the new pastor. Actually, the whole Dean family was there yesterday, with Alan, Steve and Kevin and families and Phyllis and her brother Mark, But our interim, Pastor Dave is still here and gave the message and served Communion.

Also, my favorite song O Happy Day was belted out! Well, that's one of my favorites! There is a lot of truth in the lyrics!

I have been busy putting Christmas decorations away, with Brian's help, but still have not completed that task. The outside lights are still up, and I need them taken down. Guess I will have to call my handy man to do that and some other things that need doing.
My yard man was here early this morning, about 8:30, but all he did was blow all the leaves into the azalea bed. He seemed to be working alone today.

I have noticed all the wood storks around Lynch Lake and even over at the Park. I don't remember seeing that many in other winters. Also, I saw the big, shiny gator taking in the sun on the bank of the lake off to the right of the road as I drove into the park one day last week. I am still excited to see the gators, after all this time! But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jeremiah 30:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.
"They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give
you a future and a hope. In those days, when you pray,
I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find
me; when you seek me, I will be found by you," says
the Lord. I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.

As Tim Tebow says; "I may not know what the future holds,
but I know who holds the future."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Christmas

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a light overcast today and the weather will be getting cooler, but as long as we have a bit of sun, it will get a lot warmer this afternoon!

Since I did not feel too energetic yesterday, I talked to God as I drove toward my shopping destination, and I said if there was a close parking space, I would shop, but if not, I would put it off. Well, there was a space right across the street in front of the entrance, so I had to shop! God is good that way!

Afterwards, I went to Steak and Shake for a refreshing shake, which I had not indulged in for several weeks. I drove on to the Park, and saw a couple of egrets huddled together in the canal and a lone great, gray heron all my himself. God is good!

This will be my last blog before taking a vacation while my son and grandson are here, so I wish all of you a Jesus filled Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 2:6-

...And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.
She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips
of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them
in the village inn.

That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding
their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them,
and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them. ....
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others----the armies of
heaven---praising God;
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to all whom God favors."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, Joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have lots of sunshine and blue skies, but the temp is still chilly and just creeping up to sixty. But it will probably be up to 70 this afternoon. Yesterday, was so pleasant, I had a couple windows open.

My cleaning ladies were here and we had fun teasing Cheryl about her nocturnal habits.
Whenever she gets up during the night, she takes time to look out the window to see that everybody's house and car are all right with no burglars around. I said she would make a good neighborhood watch person, and when I said I was expecting Daryl and Matthew to come in about 3:30 or so Saturday morning, Kim said for one of them to give a wave to Cheryl's house because she would probably be looking out the window!  :)

After they left, I went to the library, and turned in some books and only checked out 2 because I don't expect to have much time to read in the next two weeks. I also met two friends coming out of the Library. It is a nice neighborhood, with friends close by.

After that, I drove on to the Park and enjoyed the sight of a couple of fat wood storks in the canal, turtles on the weir, and the white egrets silhouetted against the greenery. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 150

Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his heavenly dwelling;
Praise him for his mighty works;
 Praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the trumpet;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Paul's Final Advice

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have blue skies, a few clouds and it is a little warmer than yesterday with no fog. I do not have the heat on, so it is warmer in the house than  previously.

Yesterday, I accomplished a few goals...that is, I did some Christmas shopping at the Family Christian Store and took care of five people on my list! Seems like each time I go in there, they have different associates. My check out clerk, Mike, was not too friendly, which is really unusual for that store! I guess being a believer is not a requirement to work there, but it must be hard to give helpful advice on product if you aren't. Since I worked for twelve years in a Christian bookstore, I feel I know how to be people friendly. He did not even ask me for their card, but I gave it to him anyway. Oh, well...maybe he was having a bad day.

After stopping off at the park to see the turtles and egrets and ibis, I came on home, wrapped up all the gifts I have, so far, and relaxed. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those
who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take
tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.

See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try
to do good to each other and to everyone else.

Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens,
always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to
Christ  Jesus.

Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophesies. But
test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Keep
away from every kind of evil.

Now, may the God of peace make you holy in every way,
and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept
blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ  comes again.
God, who calls you, is faithful; he will do this.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Love for Enemies

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had a thick fog that is slowly disappearing , but that makes the chilly temps more noticeable. Actually, this is the first foggy day I can remember in a long time. We usually do have them in the winter, but it is not winter just yet! But the sun will soon peek through and burn it off. In the meantime, all sound is muted and nice.

My yard guys came in the morning, and once again, blew off the leaves and mowed. But, of course, the leaves are back again and still falling. They forgot to bring my dumpster up, but I was able to pull it back without too much difficulty.

After they left, I had lunch and did some shopping, so I am a little caught up, but have a long ways to go, yet. Then I drove to the Park, which was crowded with people, and saw several black turtles sunning on the bank of the weir. Further down, a great blue heron was in the canal, which is down to a trickle, and an egret and a couple ibis were busy toward the second bridge.  God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 7:27-31
But if you are willing to listen, I say, love
your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.
Pray for the happiness of those who curse
you. Pray for those who hurt you. IF someone
slaps you on the cheek, turn the other cheek.
If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt
also. Give what you have to anyone who asks
you for it, and when things are taken away from
you  don't try to get them back. Do for others as
you would like them to do for you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Brrr! My thermometer read 51 outside temp this morning and the indoor was 70, but old bones ache in the cold weather and mine are no exception. I have a small heater that I take into the bathroom to warm it up before I take the plunge into the shower and that makes it nice and cozy. But the sun is shining and it is a beautiful day!

We had a good sermon yesterday with Pastor Dave relating a few funny, true life stories about gift giving in his own life...how some were appropriate and appreciated and some not so much! He also mentioned living for a time in Johnstown , Penn. which my 5 greats grandfather founded. I chatted with him afterward, and he called his wife to come listen to my story. Turns out that her whole family lived in and are from Johnstown. It is a small world!

On my way to church, I drove by Lynch Lake and saw lots of ibis, seagulls, and ducks, plus a couple wood storks. Then, afterwards, I drove to the Park and once again, saw lots of ibis, a couple wood storks and an anhinga with outspread wings on the weir. And down in the canal, egrets herons and ibis. It was a good day for fowl watching! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 92:1-4

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to the Most High.
It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning,
your faithfulness in the evening,
accompanied by the harp and lute
and the harmony of the lyre.
You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
love and joy!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
