Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Blue skies, sunshine, and slightly cooler temps mean it is a beautiful day! Although it will be close to ninety again later on, at least we can enjoy a taste of fall in the mornings.

Yesterday I took a trip to the Library to return books and check out more. Children were selecting books and using the computers and adults were using the ones for them, and some were looking for film tapes they had not seen, but still some were reading. Way back when I was in school, a library had audio-visual, and books and that was about it. Ah, times have changed.

Afterwards, I visited Sawgrass and noticed that the water in the canal was still up. A flock of ibis was busy swarming over a berm and the squirrels were streaking across the road and up the trees as fast as they could go! Then I took a trip out to Weedon Island. I saw an osprey in the very top of a dead tree, but the only activity on the road was me. There were some people at the kayak rental and several cars parked at the end, where several people were fishing from the pier. I noticed something unusual also; the overflow areas were full with ducks and ibis splashing around in the water. I have never seen water in these places before. I guess that is what all the rain has done. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:35-
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble
or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry, or are
in danger or are threatened with death? (Even the
Scriptures say, "For your sake we are killed every day;
we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No, despite all
these things, overwhelming victory is ours, through Christ
who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us
from his love. Death can't and life can't. The angels can't
and the demons can't. Our fears for today , our worries
about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep
God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in
the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to
separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ
Jesus our Lord.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The grass was covered with dew earlier and a couple days ago, I saw the little brown bunny sitting outside the side garage door, munching on something he found in the grass. He was turned sideways and had blond fur in the front. Very cute!

Well, I took the blanket off the bed yesterday, because we are back to late summer weather. It has warmed up to nearly ninety in the middle of the day, but still no rain. Cooler at night, which is great! October's bright blue weather!

My cleaning ladies came early today, so I had to get up a little earlier and get my breakfast over with a little sooner than usual. But I was ready when they were. As I said before, they live right across the street, so I could see when the garage door came down, and Cheryl crossed the street to drive over. So, the house is clean and I have the rest of the day to do whatever needs doing.

I tried to unload the back of my van at the Salvation Army, but when I got there, a pickup with a trailer was ahead of me and it was loaded with furniture to be unloaded, so I just drove off and will try again another time. I need to add to my stuff anyway, with more to clean out of my closets.

I saw an osprey sitting on the line by Lynch Lake Park, as I was coming home, and a large flock of ibis by the lake. I also drove to the Park and saw the brown gopher munching on the grass right by the parking area. Very few people were there, so no one was bothering him.
God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 91:1-4

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare of the Lord;
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety,
he is my God, and I am trusting him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from the fatal plague.
He will shield you with his wings.
He will shelter you with his feathers.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, just as predicted, the weather is warming up. I discarded my blanket for most of last night, and although the A/C has not cycled on yet, it is still a little cool, but comfortable in the house. And, yesterday, was hot in the sun! But, I appreciate any change in the humidity!

The TECO people came yesterday and walked up and down the property for about thirty minutes and one super talked on the phone during that time, but nothing got done. I don't know what the problem is, but hopefully, they will get the new gas line installed sometime soon.

I had an appointment at the Pierce Clinic in the afternoon, so, after a short wait, which I used Texting back and forth with Daryl about the Gators football situation, got called back to the exam room, where I waited flat on my back for another five or ten minutes. I have suggested to the nurse that they post a poster of a hunky guy on the ceiling, but no action has been taken yet. Sigh.

I drove on to the park and saw a few people out walking, and an egret in the canal with a lone ibis pecking around the bank, but on the way around Lynch Lake Park, there was a gorgeous roseate spoonbill standing on the bank, just stretching. A lot of seagulls, and ducks were also enjoying the afternoon. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 138
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart.
I will sing your praises before the gods.
i bow before your holy Temple as I worship.
I will give thanks to your name
for your unfailing love and faithfulness,
because your promises are backed by all the
honor of your name.
When I pray you answer me.
You encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

Every king in all the earth, will give you thanks, O Lord.
For all of them will hear your words.
Yes, they will sing about the Lord's ways,
for the glory of the Lord is very great.
Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble,
but he keeps his distance from the proud.

Though I am surrounded by troubles,
you will preserve me against my angry enemies!
Your power will save me.
The Lord will work out his plans for my life----
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don't abandon me, for you made me.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Wisdom from Deuteronomy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I spread a blanket on my bed yesterday, because I woke up cold Sunday morning! For the first time since spring, I wore my longer sleeved top and a light jacket to church. I must say it is nice to have the cooler temps and lower humidity, but I really like to be warm when I sleep.

Well, I have two TECO trucks outside waiting to dig up the gas line and replace it. They have not come to the door yet, but I was already notified last week and then one of their workers did some preliminary digging and filled up the hole, then a city inspector came and located the water line to make sure they did not break that when the digging commenced. Seems that all the old gas lines are being replaced and newer, more modern ones will be installed. They have promised to replace the grass, so, hopefully, they will leave it looking neat.

My neighbor, friend and cleaning lady brought my garbage can back up this morning, just as the yard guys pulled up. I told Brian yesterday that they would bring it back, if Cheryl didn't beat them to it! She did! She also did the same for her friend, Kim, and then her own. A busy lady! She is a blessing!

I saw a wood stork at Lynch Park yesterday on my way to church, and when I visited the Park after church, I was amazed at all the people out enjoying the cooler weather! The canal was up again with all the rain preceding the cold front, and the ibis and egrets were engrossed in fishing. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Deuteronomy 33:26-27
There is no one like the God of Israel.
He rides across the heavens to help you,
across the skies in majestic splendor.

The eternal God is your refuge and his everlasting arms are under you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have had beautiful, but hot weather for a couple days, but tomorrow is the change we have been looking forward to...when it turns cooler for the first time since last May. It won't last, but we will enjoy it while we can!

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Walmart to get gas yesterday and discovered their prices were still low. All the other gas stations I passed, have gone up in price. O course, I still get cents off with my Walmart charge card. Traffic was not so bad on hiway 19 at the time I went. Since I was already close, I went on to Subway and ordered a delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwich with all their veggies on it except hot peppers. It was good toasted.

On the way out to Walmart, I stopped off at the Park and found everything quiet, with only a few ibis visible, and of course, the ever present squirrels. The water in the canal has gone down now, and will soon be a trickle if we don't have more rain. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 147:7-11

Sing out your thanks to the Lord;
sing praises to our God, accompanied by harps.
He covers the heavens with clouds,
provides rain for the earth,
and makes the green grass grow in mountain pastures.
He feeds the wild animals and the young ravens
cry to him for food.
The strength of a horse does not impress him:
how puny in his sight is the strength of a man.
Rather, the Lord's delight is in those who honor him,
those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Pressing toward the Goal

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! This is another beautiful day just like yesterday, with lots of sun and white, puffy clouds drifting across the blue sky! And, we are looking forward to a bit of a taste of fall weather this weekend!

Well, I was so tired last night that I did not sleep too well. Rick, my handyman was so busy while he was here. I really did not know he was going to do so much, but he took care of things I had not thought of...cut up stuff in the backyard left from when he tore down the shed many months ago, cleaned out gutters, and the roof...washed down the porch after gutter cleaning and fixed a worn spot in the bathroom lavatory. And made a trip to Home Depot to get a new doorbell button! All this is stuff that Louis used to take care of, so it is good to have someone I can rely on.

After Rick left I ran a couple errands, then came back home and had lunch, and since I was expecting my cleaning ladies at 2:30, I ran a couple more errands. After they left, I rested a bit and then took off again. All in all, it was a busy day for me!

Then this morning, I noticed that my cleaning lady and friend, Cheryl, put my dumpster back from the front! I did not hear her, but really appreciated her doing that! She is so thoughtful!
I am blessed! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Philippians 4:6-9
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again---rejoice!
Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do.
Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Don't worry about anything, instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.
If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far
more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His
peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing
as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and
honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and
admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of
praise. Keep putting into practice all you have learned from me
and heard from me, and saw me doing, and the God of peace
will be with you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Faith brings Joy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! So far, we have sunshine and a few clouds, so hopefully, the rain will hold off until my handy man gets through with the work he planned to do.

I am blessed to have people who come in and take care of cleaning, outside work, and anything else that needs to be done! However, that still leaves ironing, but while I grumble about it, it only takes about fifteen minutes!

I visited the park yesterday, but all was quiet. It had just rained, so puddles were all over, and the only birds I saw, were a great white heron, right beside an anhinga on the weir. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been made right in God's
sight by faith, we have peace with God because of
what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because
of out faith, Christ has brought us into this place of
highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently
and joyfully look forward to sharing God's Glory.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials,
for we know that they are good for us--they help us to learn
to endure. And endurance develops strength of character
in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation
of salvation . And this expectation will not disappoint us.
For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has
given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
