Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Puffy clouds and blue skies greet us today and we had no rain yesterday, so things should be drying up soon.
My cleaning friends came yesterday, full of excitement about their upcoming trip to Rainbow River. They are taking off next Wednesday for a girl's weekend in a lodge they have rented.18 of them will be playing games, eating, and floating down the river on inner tubes. It sounds like a lot of fun! They warned me, because they will skip my house cleaning since Wed. is my day. I told them I would try not to be too messy, and they said for me not to throw any wild parties!
I did not stay up long enough to watch the Rays lose last night, but got to bed earlier than I have been, and had a good night's sleep. I hope they do better against the Yankees starting Friday...
My hanging basket on the front porch is growing so fast That I keep trimming it, but I noticed that once more the vines are hanging down to the floor again. I think it likes all the rain we have been having. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 145:8-16
The Lord is kind and merciful,
slow to get angry, full of unfailing love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will bless you.
They will talk together about the glory of your kingdom;
they will celebrate examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds and about
the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule generation after generation.
The Lord is faithful in all he says.
He is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help; you give them
their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,

Lopin' thru Luke
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are starting out bright and sunny, with very little chance of rain today. What a change! Of course, the gutters around here are running with water, still, because we had rain yesterday, the day before, etc. But I remember when we had no rain for a long time last summer, so I should not complain. Of course, in Pasco County, some areas are still flooded and the water does not seem to be draining off. We could use a little respite.
I took a trip to the Library just after school was out, and it was quiet and not very crowded. There was one small child who screamed a couple times, but otherwise, all was peaceful. Even the librarians were visiting with each other; something they don't get to do very often.
After I checked out, I took a trip to Steak and Shake and got a strawberry milkshake for half price. Then I drove on to the Park and saw a anhinga with just his head sticking up out of some bushes and a lone ibis pecking in the freshly mowed grass. Not many cars were parked, so it was a quiet time.
I enjoyed half of my shake before supper and finished it off afterwards. I saw a sparrow and what looked like a robin on the line coming home. I'm not sure about the robin, because this is not the time for them to be down here. I don't usually see them until Jan. or Feb. The mockers and bluejays are not flying in and out of the hedge as much, so I think all of the seeds must be gone. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Luke 12:27-32
Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't
work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his
glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if
God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here
today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you?
You have so little faith! And don't worry about food--what
to eat and drink. Don't worry whether God will provide
it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most
people, but your Father already knows your needs. He will
give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom
of God your primary concern.
So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great
happiness to give you the Kingdom.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! And a happy Sept. first to all! Hard to believe fall is close because the temp. is supposed to go up to 90. Right now the sun is shining and a warm, humid breeze is blowing. The blue recycling bins are lining the street, (not mine, because I forgot this is pick up day), but yesterday the garbage was not picked up until the middle of the afternoon when it is usually gone by 8. Strange things are happening....
My yard crew came in the morning, and I asked Jim how far behind he was because of the rain. He said he had been doing this for twenty years and had never seen so much rain. He is still trying to catch up and get back on his regular schedule. I was planning to run some errands, but right at noon. a heavy downpour started and it lasted about thirty minutes. However, afterwards, the sun came out again, so I was able to go and do what I needed.
Then I took a ride to the Park and saw the high water and a anhinga or snake bird off in the distance. I was just in time to see one take a big dive into the water as I was coming over the bridge near my house. I saw his head pop up out of the water, but no fish in his beak, so I guess he missed his catch of the day!
I watched the Rays win last night in Baltimore and got to see the amazing catch Kevin Kiermaier made to rob a home run from the Orioles player. I have also seen the replays on TV and the internet. He is an exciting player to watch. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 25:6-10
Remember, O Lord, your unfailing love and compassion,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth;
look instead through the eyes of your unfailing
love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
The Lord is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
He leads the humble in what is right,
teaching them his way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Faith and Endurance
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The rain held off until last night, so I enjoyed going to worship and the powerful sermon on Love Illuminated.
After church I went to Boston Market for my dinner and ordered an extra salad for later. They have a small Mediterranean salad that I like very much.
When I got home, I turned on the TV to catch a little of the replay of the Eagles/Packers game on NFL, but discovered that neither of my TVS were working. After checking with BH I just decided to go without and settled down to eat and read. Later on, when I tried them, they both worked. Humph. Another mystery.
Brian came over Saturday and did my bookkeeping for me which he does every month. Even when I mess up, he usually does not say anything. He just fixes the problem. He also put the battery in the digital scales I had been trying to get in the right way. and then he switched light bulbs on the front porch and put in the LED that is supposed to last 25,000 hours. I am not counting!
My crape myrtle is showing its last blossoms, and the bird of paradise is still blooming and the acorns are falling more rapidly from the oaks. I was interested in watching a flock of ibis moving from yard to yard across the street after the neighbor had freshly mowed. They were like a wave, almost in unison, up and down, all together with their heads down and pecking. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
James 1:2-8,13
Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes
your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your
faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character
and ready for anything.
If you need wisdom---if you want to know what God wants you
to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent
your asking. But when you ask him make sure that you
really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled
as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
People like that should not expect to receive anything from
the Lord. They can't make up their minds. They waver back and
forth in everything they do...
God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward
they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to
those who love him.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Living by the Spirit's Power
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is a contrast from yesterday..cloudy and dark and rainy as compared to today's sun and heat build up. Seems like the meteorologists are not certain about which way Tropical storm Erika is headed, but we will most likely have a lot of rain Monday or Tuesday. We will stay tuned for further developments!
I mostly stayed around the house, since it was so rainy until late afternoon. I finished one book and tried to get the lithium battery in the bathroom scales, but still have not inserted it correctly, because they still don't work, I have taken it out and put it back a couple times, but I must be doing it wrong. Hm. I will try again even though it is tricky trying to slip it in and out of the spot where it goes.
I watched the Rays win last night. Good for them! I like to watch Kevin Kiermaier in action in the outfield and on base. Ah, youth! He is so fast and has so much hustle! It is inspiring to watch his enthusiasm.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy whatever you do. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Ephesians 5:15-20
So be careful how you live, not as fools
but as those who are wise. Make the most of
every opportunity for doing good to these
evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to
understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Don't be drunk with wine, because that will
ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill
and control you. Then you will sing psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs among your-
selves making music to the Lord in your hearts.
And you will always give thanks for everything
to God the Father in the name of your
Lord Jesus Christ.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love for Enemies
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is rather dark now and rain is still dripping off the roof. Shortly after I got out of bed I heard thunder and sure enough, we had a loud and wet thunderstorm already. And it looks like more rain is in store. At least it keeps the temp. down a few degrees!
While my ladies were cleaning yesterday afternoon, I watched the horrible news about the TV anchor and photog. getting shot and killed on live TV. And the director seriously wounded. Someone needed to get that man the mental help he needed before this all happened. I prayed for those left behind.
Afterwards, I made another trip to CVS and purchased a lithium battery for my bathroom scales. They last over a year or more.I also found a LED light bulb which I am hoping will solve the problem of a burned out porch light for a long time to come. The package says 25,000 hours...humm, I don't know if I have 25,000 hours left. Someone figure out how long that is, please.
Then I went to the library, returned and checked out more books, then on to the park where two big, brown, gopher tortoises were munching and wandering about, but not many people. Then home to see lots of ibis and an egret at Lynch Lake. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Luke 7:27-31
But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your
enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Pray
for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray
for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on
one cheek, turn the other cheek. If someone demands
your coat, offer your shirt also. Give what you have
to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are
taken away from you, don't try to get them back.
Do for others as you would like them to do for you.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wisdom from Proverbs
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sun, heat and humidity...the same as yesterday, is the prediction for today. We had no rain yesterday, though. That was good.
I had a check up scheduled with my doc and put the sun shield up in my windshield when I parked, because by the time I came out about an hour later, I knew the car would be hot enough to fry eggs on the hood! I had a nice social visit with the Doctor since I had no complaints and he ended the visit with a joke. After the appointment I zipped across and drove a few blocks to Wendy's to get a nice, cold, chocolate Frosty. It was so good! I drove on to the Park, where few cars were parked, checked my iphone messages and headed for home.
My crape myrtle is still blooming and healthy looking, and the bird of paradise is looking good, so all the rain has been beneficial to the plants. I also have healthy green weeds growing under the oak trees where the grass won't grow because of too much shade. As long as it's green, it's ok with me! The squirrels and birds are enjoying the acorns and the beauty berry bush. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Proverbs 3:5-21,24
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do
not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.
My child, don't lost sight of good planning and
insight. Hang on to them, for they fill you with life
and bring you honor and respect. They keep you
safe on your way and keep your feet from stumbling.
You can lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant
dreams. You need not be afraid of disaster or the
destruction that comes upon the wicked. For the
Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from
being caught in a trap.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy, and love!
