Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Still cool temps this morning, but like yesterday it will warm up and I actually had a window open in the afternoon. That was on the south side of the house in the kitchen where it is always warm.
After doing laundry, I did some grocery shopping and picked out some lovely bananas, and yes, I still get slightly green bananas...not too old to let them ripen!
I also took a drive to the park, which was very crowded with lots of people from out of state, I saw a lot of New York tags and since it was below freezing there, I know they must have been enjoying the sun!
Well I thought there would be no blog today, because I had drain problems in the shower. I joined HomeServ last year and pay very little monthly to them for several things that could go wrong in the house and it paid off. I called yesterday, was contacted by a plumber 5 minutes later and he came out at 9, and cleaned out the shower drain. He was here for about 20 minutes and it did not cost me anything! Yay for HomeServ! I almost forgot to mention that the plumber reminded me of Ben Zobrist; he looked a lot like him. For those of you who don't know, Ben is a former Rays player who got traded to KC, and a fine man!
Coming home from shopping, I drove by Lynch Lake and saw 2 wood storks right by the street looking very depressed. They always look sad with their necks all drawn up and even though they were in a crowd of ibis, they were not happy. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Luke 7:27-31
But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your
enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Pray
for the happiness of those who hurt you. If someone
slaps you on one cheek, turn the other cheek. If
someone demands your coat, offer your shirt
also. Give what you have to anyone who asks you
for it and when others are taken away from you,
don't try to get them back. Do for others as you
would like them to do for you.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!
Love and hugs, Amaryllis

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sunshine, no wind and chilly air , but warming is what we have today. When I checked the temp earlier it was 49 degrees, but has already warmed up to about 54. Not much better, but I am managing to stay warm.
Well, I made an unhappy discovery this morning, The spot on the ceiling of my fireplace room has been leaking again. The white is discolored, but it doesn't look too bad. That is a difficult area that has been sealed several times, so I called my handy man again and told him what to expect when he comes. I had already left a message for him a day or two ago. Sigh. If it's not one thing, it's another!
My cleaning ladies came yesterday, late, and got the house all spic and span, as they usually do. Cheryl was wearing sneakers, which I teased her about, because she always wears flip flops. she said the reason she didn't wear them was because they would look silly with the long pants she was wearing. She doesn't feel the cold so much, but my feet really do!
I watched two blue jays eating some kind of seeds from the ground next door; then they started fussing at each other and flew away! Tsk! They should try to get along! But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows.
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the dark valley of death,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me .
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me,
in the presence of my enemies.
You welcome me as a guest,
anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing
love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wisdom
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Thankfully, the wind has died down and all is still so far. The cold front passed and right now the temp is not any lower than it has been, but according to the forecast, it will be getting close to forty and maybe the thirties inland. My azaleas don't seem to know that it is still winter, because there is a lot of new growth and they are blooming!
Well, this computer just blanked out, so I had to turn it off and restart it! Wish I knew more about these things!
Anyway, as I was saying,; in spite of the wind, I took my books back to the Library and checked out with six more, one of which is a 14 day, so I have already started on it. The others I can take my time with. After that I drove over to the Winn Dixie, but while there were a couple of handicapped spaces in front of the entrance, there were no carts handy. I had the three wheeled walker in back and not my cane, so I left there and went on to CVS and got most of what was on my list. CVS has stocked a lot of light groceries which is very convenient. The reason I wanted to go into the WD was to get some of their deli potato salad, which is almost like what I make. Publix Pot. salad is too creamy and already in containers. They dish up as much as you want at WD.
So, after I left CVS, I went on to the windblown Park and in spite of the windy conditions there were quite a few people out and about. On the way home I went by Lynch Lake and saw that even the flocks of seagulls and ibis were grounded. Flying conditions were not too good! But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Proverbs 3:21-26
My child, don't lose sight of good planning and insight.
Hang on to them, for they fill you with life and bring you
honor and respect. They keep you safe on your way and
keep your feet from stumbling. You can lie down without
fear and enjoy pleasant dreams. You need not be afraid of
disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for
the Lord is your security. He will keep your feet from being
caught in a trap.
Wisdom produces honor in our lives and protects us from trouble.
Wise people know the difference between right and wrong and choose
to do what's right. More than that, wisdom is choosing to apply God's
truth and principles to our daily relationships and situations.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and Love!

Will of God
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!Well, the prediction that strong winds would be moving through last night proved to be premature. Everything was quiet , but I see the trees and shrubs moving now, and the last I heard, was that the wind would pick up today, and then it would really turn cold. I am definitely not looking forward to it!
I think the oak trees have just about finished shedding their leaves. I don't see any drifting past my window, but quite a few are stuck in the needle leaves of the podacarpus hedge which the neighbors planted many years ago.I think it is about time for them to be raked up; the leaves, that is.
I finished a book yesterday and need to make another trip to the Library. I also did laundry yesterday which accumulates pretty fast, even though I am only one person. I watched a flock of redwing blackbirds pecking around the neighbor's yard and then they all flew off. I had not seen a flock of them in a couple years. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Does God really have a plan for my life?
Psalm 139:3
You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest.
Every moment you know where I am.
Psalm 32:8
The Lord says, "I will guide you along the best pathway
for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.
God has a plan for our lives. It is not an unthinking, automated
script that we must follow. It is a journey with various destinations
and appointments and a great deal of freedom as to the pace and
scope of the travel. God's plan for us will always have a sense of
mystery, but we can be certain that he will guide us as long as we
rely on his leading.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun is shining but the air is chilly. However, the temp has climbed up to 58 already, so it is really beautiful with only one or two clouds dotting the sky.
My yard crew is at work after I thought they weren't coming because this is late for them. The front porch was piled high with leaves, so their visit is timely! They are wearing jackets, so I know it is cold. Even my PC was balky, which is why this email is late today.
We had a long service yesterday, but a good one with our loose change offering for the Covenant World Relief water issue...making clean water available for those people who don't have it. It was an impressive (and noisy) time of filling up to overflowing, a large can in front of the lectern. Then came the sermon about the Living Water.
I waited about twenty minutes for a space to open up in the parking lot for the second service and we did not get out until 12:30.
Well, I watched the Super Bowl sporadically last night. Meaning I turned to other programs for short times, since I did not care who won. Neither team was my favorite. My only comment is that I don't know how the Panthers had an almost unbeaten record, because they certainly did not play like they were that good!
I drove around Lynch Lake on the way to church, and the lake had ripples on it from the strong wind. The ducks were huddled in a group against the bank with one lone wood stork keeping them company. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 37:1-
Don't worry about the wicked.
Don't envy those who do wrong
for like grass, they soon fade away.
Like springtime flowers, they soon
fade away.
Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and
prosper.
Take delight in the Lord and he will give
you your heart's desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him and he will help you.
He will make your innocence as clear as
the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine as
the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the Lord
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don't worry about evil people who
prosper,
or fret about their wicked schemes.
Stop your anger!
Turn from your rage!
Do not envy others---
it only leads to harm.
For the wicked will be destroyed,
but those who trust in the Lord
will possess the land.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Final Words con't.
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, yesterday I was wearing summer clothes and today I have winter wear on again.Just as the prediction said, after the rain came the cold wave, so it was 51 when I got up and won't warm up to much above 60 later on.
Yesterday was the opening of the State Fair in Tampa and the rain did not do them any favors, but even though it is chilly today and the rest of the week, it is still beautiful with blue skies and sunshine. It goes on for ten days, so they will probably still draw a crowd. The only thing I would like from there is a corn dog. I haven't had a fair corn dog for years, so if anyone is going, have a corn dog for me!
Well, I watched American Idol last night and was wondering where John Wayne Schultz was. Apparently, he was eliminated one time when I wasn't watching, so I Googled him and saw his background and that he tried out back in 2011, just before his mom died of breast cancer. He doesn't have an outstanding voice, but it was pleasant, and I was hoping he would be selected for the final 24. Guess it was not meant to be...
I then watched Tim Tebow do a lip sync as a Rocky Balboa impersonator. He was pretty funny and a good sport. He also had some pretty good dance moves. Maybe he could be on Dancing With The Stars...just sayin'. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Philippians 4:8,9
And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more
thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what
is true and honorable and right. Think about things
that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about
things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep
putting into practice all you learned from me and
heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of
peace will be with you.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Paul's Final Thoughts
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had sunshine an hour or so ago, but now the clouds are coming in ahead of the rain, so it is mostly overcast. The rain is supposed to be starting in about an hour. Then the cold will follow.
Yesterday, I turned the A/C on in the afternoon. The house was stuffy and my cleaning ladies were complaining about the hot weather, although to me, 78 is not really hot. However, a record was set for the day when we reached 84!
I gave my ladies their early Valentine's gifts when they were ready to go..just small boxes of Whitman's chocolates all wrapped up. Kim could not wait, so she tore open her box right away to get at the chocolates!
Well, I am not happy about speed bumps going in on the main street out of this neighborhood. I see signs up for three of them, which will affect the time an emergency vehicle takes to get to an address. Bummer!
Later in the afternoon, I took a trip to the Park and almost missed a great blue heron, hidden in a clump of undergrowth by the weir. I thought I saw a gator, but it turned out to be a small group of water lilies. The park was full of cars and I saw a group of people reading the signs about the work going on in the lake, which has been underway for over a year.. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Philippians 4:4-7
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again---rejoice!
Let everyone see that you are considerate in all
you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you need and thank him
for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience
God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human
mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts
and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ..
I Always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
