Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are predicted to have slightly cooler weather this weekend, but that could always change. Also, daylight savings time ends. I wish we would stay the same all year long. because I have a hard time adjusting to a time change.

Well, I had enough energy to go shopping for groceries yesterday. That is why I did not send a Gator Bytes yesterday. I wanted to get to the Publix before noon. So, I was able to get all I needed and a few extras that I didn't need, and got home about 12:30. As I get older, it gets more difficult for me to unload the groceries after I get home. But I kept making the trips from car to kitchen until I got everything put away, then I ate my cordon bleu sandwich, topped off with a slice of pumpkin roll! I enjoyed both very much!

I also took a trip to the Park where everything was very peaceful with the squirrels dashing across the street and a lone egret standing very still in the canal. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 19:12-14
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Keep me from deliberate sins!
Don't let them control me.
Then I will be free of guilt
and innocent of great sin.

May the words of my mouth and the
thoughts of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

1 Chronicles

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! While I see lots of clouds around, still the prediction is for a clear night so the crescent moon, Venus and another star will be lined up for viewing pleasure tonight. But the sun is shining and there is a chance of much needed rain.

My cleaning ladies are coming early today, so I have to make sure the table is cleared off for them. I tend to let mail accumulate before tossing ads and stuff that I put off reading. Bills I open right away,, but at this time of year, there are lots of charities seeking donations and it is impossible to give to everyone!

I drove to Applebee's for my supper salad yesterday and coming back the sun blinded me as I was pulling into the garage. I know the time changes this weekend, so it will be later than it was yesterday unless I decide to go earlier. I am too short for the visor to do me much good at that time of day.

Well, the Cubs won last night and I hope they will do it again tonight! I like Ben Zobrist and of course, he and Joe Maddon used to be with the Rays, so they get my loyalty. Brandon Guyer is with Cleveland and he used to be a Ray, also, but I am still rooting for the Cubs!

I see the squirrels peeking around the oak trees and getting as many acorns as they can. And, BTW,, the acorns are starting to fall, so autumn is definitely here! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

1 Chronicles 16:31-36
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice!
Tell all the nations that the Lord is king.
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst forth
with joy!
Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise
before the Lord!
For he is coming to judge the earth.

Give thanks to the Lord for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Cry out, "Save us, O God of our salvation!
Gather and rescue us from among the nations,
so we can thank your holy name
and rejoice and praise you.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.!

And all the people shouted "Amen!" and
praised the Lord.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Thanksgiving and Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad and rejoice in it! I know it is almost noon, so I am getting a late start on the day. But it is a beautiful first day of November! I will probably have to turn the A/C off soon, but not this week.

My yard crew was here about thirty minutes ago, and as I talked with Jim, he said to spread the word about him, because he has two helpers who are working out well and he wants to keep them busy with planting, mulching, and other yard work that needs doing. He must be all caught up from the many rainy days he could not work!

I was watching the live broadcast of the inaugural ferry ride from Tampa to St. Petersburg, which just started this morning, The sound of the sloshing water and the beautiful view of the tall buildings was quite nice. It reminded me of our honeymoon trip to Sarasota via the Bee Line Ferry about 69 years ago this month! I was wearing a white Palm Beach suit and when we got out of the car to stand and look at the water, the soot from the boat's chimneys made black spots all over the suit. Not good. But we had a good time in spite of that.

I watched a flock of ibis moving in a white cloud across the neighbor's yards earlier. They are so busy pecking as they go; they just keep on pecking...God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Colossians 1:9-14
So we have continued praying for you
ever since we first heard about you. We ask
God to give you a complete understanding
of what he wants to do in your lives, and we
ask him to make you wise with spiritual
wisdom. Then the way you live will always
honor and please the Lord, and you will
continually do good, kind things for others.
All the while you will learn to know God
better and better.

We also pray that you will be strengthened
with his glorious  power so that you will
have all the patience and endurance that you
need. May you be filled with joy , always
thanking the Father , who has enabled you to
share the inheritance that belongs to God's
holy people, who live in the light. For he has
rescued us from the one who lives in the king-
dom of darkness and he has brought us into the
Kingdom of his dear Son. God has purchased
our freedom with his blood  and has forgiven all
our sins.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Prowling thru Proverbs

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have another in a long string of beautiful days. The only negative is that it is so dry. I see sprinklers going on several yards. Yes, even after all the rain last month and even a hurricane, we did not receive much this month.

We had a good service again yesterday with a mixture of Ecclesiastes, Genesis and Revelation all tied in together! It was another outstanding one from Pastor Kevin! BTW, His daughter's birthday is today. My late sister-in-law was also born on Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween; I don't expect anyone to come knocking at the door. I always leave my light off until everything is quiet and that is usually honored. I remember when we first moved in to this house, we would have over a hundred little trick or treaters come for goodies. Louis liked to sit outside and enjoy all the different costumes! He loved the little kids! And this neighborhood was full of them, but since that was 47 years ago, all the kids now have little ones of their own and have moved away..

Well, the Gators won on Saturday; Yay! but the Packers lost in the last 3 minutes yesterday; Boo.

But it was a really good game! Daryl and I texted all during it, because he was rooting for the Falcons; Boo! Just wait "til next week! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Proverbs 21:5,22:1
Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity
but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

Choose a good reputation over great riches, for
being held in high esteem, is better than having
silver or gold.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Isaiah

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I almost skipped this blog today because it is so late. I slept an hour later than usual because of lack of sleep Wed. night. Once in a while I have a hard time going to sleep, but fortunately, that does not happen often!

Anyway, I took time this morning to do some sorting of papers and notebooks and discovered a commemorative fabric bookmark  marking Faith Covenant's 20th anniversary. 1978-1998! And I was there at the beginning! Great memories! Now we are making more good memories under Pastor Kevin's leadership! I am looking forward to the future to see what God has in store for us! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Isaiah 55:15-17
The rain and snow come down from the
heavens and stay on the ground to water
the earth. They cause the grain to grow
providing seed for the farmer and bread
for the hungry. It is the same with my word.
I send it out , and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will
prosper everywhere I send it. You will live
in joy and peace. The mountains and hills
will burst into song, and the trees of the field
will clap their hands. Where once there were
thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where briers
grow, myrtles will sprout up. This miracle
will bring great honor to the Lord's name,
it will be an everlasting sign of his power and
love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have another in our string of cooler and partly cloudy and partly sunshiny days, which are such a contrast to our usual long summer of hot days and warm nights!

This weather is very welcome!

Today I am hoping to get over to the library to return the rest of my books. I finished the big one by Nicholas Sparks last night. It's funny how some of the passages seemed familiar to me, and yet I don't think I had read it before. I have read several of his books and think he is a good writer, but this one had suspense, also. I enjoyed it.

While I am rooting for the Cubs to win the World Series, because of Ben Zobrist, I really have not watched much of the games. For one thing, I don't care for the commentators who are definitely rooting for Cleveland. I am so used to the Rays broadcasters, DeWayne and Brian. They are tops!

Yesterday, My friends and cleaning ladies came and did their usual good job. I gave Cheryl the name and number of my handyman because she wants him to power wash her driveway. She met him when he was power washing my porch last week. He doesn't have to advertise...word of mouth does it for him! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 5:6-11
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came
at just the right time and died for us sinners.
Now, no one is likely to die for a good person,
though someone might be willing to die for a
person who is especially good. But God showed
his great love for us by sending Christ to die
for us while we were still sinners. And since we
have been made right in  God's sight by the blood
of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's
judgement . For since we were restored to friendship
with God by the death of his Son, while we were
still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from
eternal punishment by his life. So now we can rejoice
in our wonderful new relationship with God----all because
of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in
making us friends of God.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Faith Brings Joy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We still have our cooler weather, and although it is still very dry, it is beautiful. I know I should not be complaining about the dry weather and I am not; just wishing we had rain about once a week. Since my well and pump have not worked for many years, I rely on God to provide.

I don't know about everybody else, but I have been getting so many calls on my land line from election  to charities, that I don't answer if I don't recognize the number. 99 percent are from other states! I even got three on my cell yesterday starting out with someone with a heavy Spanish accent wanting to speak to someone here involved in drug and alcohol rehab. Sorry, wrong number! Sigh.

Well, I escaped by taking a walk around the house and noting the beauty berry bush is full of colorful berries, and then I took off for the park and then stopped by the bank.

There were fewer people at the park because school was still in session, but I saw ibis and anhinga and a great blue heron near the bridge. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been made right
in God's sight by faith, we have peace with
God because of what Jesus Christ has done
for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought
us into this place of highest privilege where
we now stand and we confidently and joyfully
look forward to sharing God's glory.

We can rejoice when we run into problems and
trials, for we know that they are good for us---they
help us  learn to endure. And endurance develops
strength of character in us, and character strengthens
our confident expectation of salvation. And this
expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how
dearly God loves us, because he has given us the
Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
