Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! So far, it is a good morning, 71 when I got up later than usual, and yet, the extreme cold front is on the way and the temp is supposed to start dropping  around noon. I hope it holds off for the cross tossing at Spring Bayou, for all the boys who will be diving in that cold water!

It was such a treat to hear our former pastor and friend, Rock Doddridge, speak at church yesterday! He brought up many names of people who have passed on and those who are still active in church, who were there in the nineties when he was there, and I was serving on Council. He also brought a good message aimed at the situation FCC is in right now, searching for a new pastor...the vision of the church.

I had a very enjoyable Christmas with Daryl and Matthew here from frozen TN. The weather was very warm and sunny and they really enjoyed getting out and about. I had forgotten how much and often a teen age boy eats! Matthew has grown into a very sturdy, strong young man and is gifted in automotive skills. He really wants to be a mechanic, when he graduates.

Well, I managed to get to the park several times while they were here, and afterwards. I saw a lot of turtles sunning on the weir yesterday, and a couple days before that, a gator was sunning on the bank of the lake. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:24-28

Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you
already have something, you don't need to hope for it. But if we look forward
to something we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should\
pray for , nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with
groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all
hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers
in harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to
work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to
his purpose for them...

I always thank God for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
