The Beatitudes

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! There are a lot more clouds today than yesterday, so right now although the sun is shining, it is dimmed in some places by a nice, white clouds. But the temp is still cool and nice!

I had a nice shopping day at Walgreen's yesterday. I don't usually go there because CVS is closer and more convenient, but I must say, the service at Walgreen's is outstanding, almost like Publix. Plus, it was Senior Day, which I did not know, so I got 20% off all my purchases. That is always good news.

After leaving Walgreen's, I went on to the park, and was so amazed at the many varieties of water fowl in the canal! Wood storks, ibis, a very large great blue heron, and roseate spoonbills, all very intent on gathering whatever food was available in the mud and shallow water. It was such a pretty artist would have loved it! I saw a person with a very large telephoto lens on his camera taking shots of all the wildlife. On the way out of the park, I stopped to watch a very large gator on the bank by the weir. He was just resting, beside turtles and one anhinga. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Matthew 5:1-12

One day as the crowds were gathering, Jesus went up the
mountainside with his disciples and sat down to teach them.

The Beatitudes

This is what he taught them:

"God blesses those who realize their need
for him, for the Kingdom of heaven is given to them.
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
God blesses those who are gentle and lowly,
for the whole earth will belong to them.
God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty
for justice, for they will receive it in full.
God blesses those who are merciful for they will be shown mercy.
God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
God blesses those who work for peace for they
will be called the children of God.
God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God.
for the Kingdom of heaven is theirs.

God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about
because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a
great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets
 were persecuted, too.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
