1 Timothy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, the people in the Panhandle counties are not rejoicing,.

I was looking at the weather maps on TV on the news...20 inches in 24 hours has resulted in roads washed out, houses flooded, lots of cars lost due to washed out roads and a state of emergency has been declared by the governor, for Pensacola and surrounding counties. Tallahassee has also been getting heavy rain. Looks like it is heading east so, hopefully, we will escape.

I see another eating place has closed. I drove by Jack's English pub yesterday, and saw that the windows had brown paper covering them. That place in the converted Pizza Hut building did not last long! It is really tough for a restaurant to keep going, unless it is really good.

I made a trip to the library and noticed some more homeless men hanging around. They like to go there for the shade and to rest, and use the facilities. One was on the bench in front and the other was on the bench right beside where I parked. A security guard was posted inside at one point, but apparently these men mean no harm. I'm sure each one has an interesting life story. It would be good to hear from some of them...

I went on to the Park and watched the dog walkers and ibis and egrets walking in the water on a very warm day. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Paul's Final Instructions
1 Timothy 6:17-19

Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to
trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust
should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our
enjoyment . Tell them to use their money to do good. They should
be rich in good works and should give generously to those in need,
always being ready to share with others whatever God has given
them. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a
good foundation for the future so that they may take hold of real life.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis

P.S.  I was mistaken about Jack's Pub being closed. They are very much open. It is the building next door that is closed with paper over the windows1 Sorry for the mistake!

Roamin' thru Romans 8

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sounds like a broken record, but once again, we have sun, wind and very warm weather. I received several text messages from Daryl last night about the tornado warnings they had received. The bad weather was headed for Chattanooga, which is just a few miles from Cleveland, TN. Thank God, they were spared. I prayed for God to change the direction of the storm. No damage to Daryl's house! Looks like more bad weather is forecast for the central states today. So strange...

My yard men came yesterday and blew off the porch, but already the wind has deposited dry leaves on it. Sigh. Can't win.  I got one thing accomplished yesterday that I had been putting off. One was doing my ironing, which only took about fifteen minutes, but since it is one of my least favorite things to do, I keep putting it off. I also returned six books to the library, and finished reading another, so I have to return it today and load up again. I never get tired of reading!

I also stopped in at the park and noticed very few people there. It was pretty warm, and even though there is a lot of shade, it is hot to walk. On my way out, I saw a very large, wet turtle that had just climbed out of the water on the bank by the weir. Guess he wanted to dry off! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:35-38
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have
trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are
hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with
death?( Even the scriptures say,  "For your sake,
we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered
like sheep.") No, despite all these things , over
whelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us
from his love. Death can't and life can't. The angels
can't and the demons can't. Our fears for today , our
worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell
can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above
the sky or in the deepest ocean , nothing in all creation
will ever be able to separate us from the love of God,
that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalm 92

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Windy and sunny and very warm is the weather for today. I still have not turned off the A/C, although it doesn't cycle on until afternoon. I use the ceiling fans when I need to feel moving air...

My yard men are working right now, and mowing, but since it has been so dry, the grass has not grown very much. Dry leaves are being blown off the trees and look crispy. But I am sure we will get rain when God decides we need it!

After church yesterday, I ate my Boston Market dinner, watched the Rays lose again, and sorta went into a sitting up coma, for about an hour. It was  a weird nap, but refreshing. After that, I drove to the library to return some books to the book drop and then went on to the Park. Lots of people were enjoying the exercise and beautiful weather. I saw some ibis and egrets standing in the middle of the canal, where the water is so low. Although there is a lot of mud, there is a lot of green, too, so the white birds make a nice contrast in colors. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 92:1-4

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to the most High.
It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning,
your faithfulness in the evening,
accompanied by the harp and lute
and the harmony of the lyre.
You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 147

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Lots of sun and warmer today, so the A/C is ready to go! I actually turned it on yesterday because the air was so humid, but it did not cycle during the night. Ah, summer is here!

I am a little later today because my handy man called a lot earlier than I had expected; while I was eating breakfast, in fact. Said he was in the neighborhood and wanted to know if he could come and install my new shower head and clean the A/C filter. I said sure, so now everything is done and he is gone. He is so busy, I give him notice ahead of time when I want something done. He said he is working 7 days a week, 8 and 12 hours a day! His rates are so reasonable, and his work isso good , he has a long list of people who need his services. I know I am really glad to have him!  While I was in the garage watching  him work, I saw a nice, long black racer snake wiggle across the driveway and disappear in the shrubs. Very sleek and pretty!

Yesterday, I drove out to Walmart to get gas in the van, and my goodness, the prices have really gone up! I only fill up about once a month, so it doesn't bother me so much, but for people who have to commute long distances or be on the roads, it hurts!

I took a side trip to the park and saw a lady walking all the way down the sidewalk pushing her walker. Good for her!! I have seen her before, so she is determined. Her walker has a seat on it so she can rest when she wants to. That's probably what I will need next! But God is good!

BTW, I received an invitation in the mail yesterday to attend the "Last Hurrah" reunion for our SPHS class of "44. Guess there are so few of us left, that this will be the last one. Sigh.

From the Promise Bible NLT:
 Psalm 147:10,11

Praise the Lord!
The strength of a horse does not impress him,
how puny in his sight is the strength of a man.
Rather, the Lord's delight is in those who honor him,
those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Know Your Objective

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it Another sunshiny day which started out with fog, but is now clear and bright! We are headed up to the eighties today, but yesterday was just perfect with the low seventies and lots of sun. Great time of the year!

I am seeing lots of beautiful jacaranda trees in full bloom, everywhere I go. I expect the people who have the blooms dropping all over their yards and cars are not too happy with them, but what a gorgeous display they put on every spring! After they get through, the Royal Poinciana trees will be blooming, but there are not nearly as many of them as the jacarandas. Speaking of trees, my small crape myrtle, which I thought was dead after the cold spell we had, Is now growing by leaps and bounds! The rain really brought it back and I have a feeling it will have very pretty flowers later on.

My cleaning ladies were here yesterday, after being delayed by a terrible wreck on their way here. The street they were traveling on, was totally blocked by the police and first responders, so they had to take a long detour. You can't be too careful these days!

I had gone to the super market before they came, and got almost everything on my short list. I get a little annoyed when the cashier and stock person bagging carry on a conversation instead of paying attention to me, the customer, while ringing up my groceries. Sigh. Just me being cranky.

I got over to the park later in the afternoon and enjoyed the peace and seeing the usual ibis and egrets in the middle of the canal. It is so low that they hardly get their feet wet as they walk and dig for grubs. But, as always, God is good!

From Quiet Moments with God:

The man who plants and the man who harvests
have one purpose, and each will be rewarded
according to his own labor.

1 Corinthians 3:8

A quote from one of the devotionals....

Christians are frequently admonished to value one another's work
and to work in a spirit of cooperation. This is easier when every
member of the team clearly understands the objective. When the
objective if finally attained, each is able to share in the satisfaction
of seeing his or her contribution to the overall success.

Focus on the objectives you are working toward, and make certain
the whole team has a clear understanding of the goals that have
been set.

More men fail through lack of purpose
than through lack of talent.

joy and love!

Time

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  We have sunshine this morning! Yay!  There was a pretty sunrise and now a few clouds are in the sky, but  it is a beautiful day so far!

Yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor to check up on how I am doing recovering from the side effects of the new med he put me on. In order to get to his office, I have to go through the huge mess at 83rd and 9th St. where the construction takes up more and more of the street. I Got through OK, but had to wait about 5 or so minutes, maybe longer, for the light to change and the long line of traffic to get through. Doesn't look like they will be done any  time soon!

But when I got to the office and signed in, I only had to wait a few minutes, got called in to the exam room and just another few minutes and the doc was there!  We had a nice long chat of about 20 minutes. He did not seem to be in any hurry, so we chatted about living wills, plans for the future when an older person falls ill, his personal experience with a family member who is on life support, church, and why he thinks they are social clubs . He does not like that they ask for money. (I did not point out that giving is to the Lord and churches do not ask; it is voluntary), His viewpoint is colored by his experience of being raised Catholic and going to a Cath. school until fifth grade. Apparently, it was a bad experience. I told him he should come to my church to get a different take on why church is not a social club. All in all, it was a good chat and I was happy that he took so much time with me.

After I left there, I decided to go on to the park, where I saw a lonely wood stork perched on the bank of the canal by the weir. Wood storks always look sad to me...just something about their hunched up stance, I guess. Then I saw the baby gopher tortoise again, and also a young woman throwing out peanuts to the squirrels, strictly a no-no, as she walked rapidly toward the office. Not much use saying anything to someone about it, since no one is around to enforce the rule. A lot of people were hanging over the bridge looking down at the small stream of water in the canal which is really down. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,
a season for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.'
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to lose.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear  and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak up.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Once again, the day is starting out overcast, but maybe later on, we will have warm sun like yesterday. I got out to run some errands early in the afternoon, and the sun was very warm, after a cloudy morning. Once again, last night I had to get up and put another cover on the bed, because I was so chilly, I could not sleep! Tonight I will put the extra fleece on the bed, so I can pull it up if I need it! To quote Joe Maddon, "I coach better when I'm warm." Well, I sleep better when I'm warm. :o)

So, I made a trip to run some errands after lunch and then checked out the park to see what was going on. Quite a few people were there, considering that it was before school was out, but I nearly always see photographers and birders there. It's a good place to see all kinds of birds. I saw a couple of egrets and ibis pecking around in the very low water in the canal. and a Ranger truck stop for a squirrel sitting in the road blocking him. The thing is..even though you think they are still in front of you, they have usually already scampered across!

My yard men were here yesterday, and trimmed the azaleas and blew all the twigs and stuff off the porch and driveway, so it looked very nice. They only mow about every other week this time of year. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 145:13-18

The Lord is faithful is all he says;
he is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help;
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in everything he does.
He is filled with kindness.
The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him sincerely.

joy and love!

Wisdom from the Lord

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I thought today would be sunny, but, so far, it is still overcast, just the way it started out yesterday. But it is still hovering around the low seventies, so not at all unpleasant.

Yesterday, we had a wonderful church service, with extra chairs set up. Great music, including "Happy Day", my favorite! That's one song I want sung at my "Celebration of Life "service! Loud, noisy, and happy! We also had a really good message from our guest speaker.

Brian had come from his church to mine for the late service and afterwards, we went to The Hanger for lunch, where we had reservations. It was not crowded at all when we arrived, so we got seated right away, but later on, it filled up rapidly. We both selected lamb and asparagus from the three selections for the day and a delicious dessert.

We took a tour of Beach Drive, which was very crowded with pedestrians, and sidewalks were full of shoppers and people dining at outside tables. The Mainsail Art Festival was going full blast at the Vinoy Park and the area was teeming with people on the way or mingling. Downtown St. Petersburg is a happening place!! It was a lovely day! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jeremiah 17:5-10
This is what the Lord says: "Cursed are those who
put their trust in mere humans and turn their hearts
away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in
the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live
in the barren wilderness on the salty flats where no
one lives.

But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have
made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are
like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that
reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered
by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their
leaves stay green, and they go right on producing
delicious fruit.

The human heart is most deceitful and desperately wicked.'
Who really knows how bad it is? But I know! I, the Lord, search
all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their
due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Good Friday

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Seems like the Lord made an overcast day with lots of rain coming in from the Gulf. I have to go out this morning, so, hopefully, the heavy rain will hold off until this afternoon as predicted!

As I was on my way to the Park yesterday, I watched a traffic-stopper. Mama duck fearlessly led her dozen or so babies straight across 62nd Ave. without caring that traffic was heavy. She must have thought in her little mama duck heart that everyone would stop for her, and they did. Such faith! No one blew horns at the delay and I think those who saw up close must have smiled no matter what tasks they were involved in...God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 24

But very early on Sunday Morning the women came
to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared.
They found that the stone covering the entrance had
been rolled aside. So they went in, but they couldn't
find the body of the Lord Jesus. They were puzzled,
trying to think what could have happened to it.
Suddenly, two men appeared to them, clothed in
dazzling robes. The women were terrified  and bowed
low before them. Then the men asked, "Why are you
looking in a tomb for someone who is alive?" He isn't
here! He has risen from the dead! Don't you remember
what he told you back in Galilee, 'that the Son of Man
must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and that
he would rise again the third day?"

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

The Golden Rule

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Overcast with clouds looks like the weather for today. Also. rain is coming again, but right now. there is a slight breeze  and it is still a little cool, although warmer than yesterday, which turned out to be beautiful.

I took my city payment to the P.O. yesterday, because our mail delivery is so erratic these days. Sometimes it doesn't come until after 6 in the evening. I usually pay everything online, but ever since I learned the city charges $1.00 if you pay them online, I usually send a check. I called about that, and the clerk was sympathetic, but could not change the rules. Doesn't make sense to me!

Anyway, after I left the P.O. I drove on to the park and saw a few more people out than the day before. Something strange happened. When I drove in, a car was stopped in the other lane, for no apparent reason, and when I drove  out several minutes later, it was still there. A Ranger truck and another car were coming in toward me, so I had to stop and wait. Well, the Ranger stopped to see what was the matter, and the car took off like a shot leaving lots of smoke behind!! Looked like something fishy was going on.  Anyway, I saw an anhinga and several great white herons , looking beautiful as they dined on whatever they could catch! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 6:27-31

Love for Enemies
But if you are willing to listen, I say, love
your enemies. Do good to those who hate you.

Pray for the happiness of those who hurt you. If
someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other
cheek. I someone demands your coat, offer your
shirt also. Give what you have to anyone who
asks you for it; and when things are taken away
from you , don't try to get them back.
Do for others as you would like them to do for you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! What a contrast today's weather is, compared to yesterday! Lots of sun and cool temps...I keep thinking we have the last cool or cold front come through, and then another one pops up! It was actually about 57 outdoors, so I guess that would be warm if one lived in Chicago or other northern places! To me, it is cool!

Well, I got on the scales last night and discovered one of the five pounds of fluid that had accumulated in my body was gone, so today I was hoping for more. When I checked this morning four more were gone, so I am almost back to normal, if I don't pack on more today! PTL!

My cleaning ladies came yesterday instead of today, because one of them had a doctor's visit today, which could not be rescheduled. That was fine with me, so I had a clean house and they finished just as the heavy rain started.

I took a trip over to the park later on in the afternoon, just to get out of the house for awhile. Very few people were there because of the threatening clouds, but I saw the anhinga resting on the weir, and a beautiful sight of about three or four egrets in the dark, muddy canal, pecking around and looking for snacks. Then, just beneath the first bridge, the roseate spoonbill was creating a Kodak moment for onlookers hanging over the bridge. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 84:10-12

A Single day in your courts is
better than a thousand anywhere else!

I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
For the Lord God is our light and protector.
He gives us grace and glory.
No good thing will the Lord withhold
from those who do what is right.

O Lord Almighty, happy are those who trust in you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Faithfulness

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The wind has really picked up and is blowing the trees and bushes  and probably breaking off small twigs and branches again on the freshly mown yard and clean porch. There is a prediction of thunderstorms later today, so this wind is what is bringing it in!

Well, I got in to see the doctor yesterday. Of course, since I was a "walk-in" I had to wait and expected to, but I went through three People mags. ( my favorite in a waiting situation) and still waited in the freezing exam room. I arrived at 3:30 and left at 5:40!  But I was told that I am not going into heart failure...just a bad reaction to the new BP med. I told him I had already had that med and had all the side effects to it back in 2010, but he did not have a record of it. Since I quit taking the stuff, I feel much better and am slowly getting back my energy.Sometimes the meds you take are worse than the symptoms you already had.

Anyway, I was hungry and thirsty by the time I got home and Brian had called to check up on me, then called  my iphone while I was in the doc's exam room. I was the last to leave the office. I did not have time to get to the park, but God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Lamentations 3:22

The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! By his
mercies we have been kept from complete
destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies
begin afresh each day. I say to myself "The Lord is
my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!"
The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait for
him and seek him. So it is good to wait quietly for
salvation from the Lord. And it is good for the young
to submit to the yoke of his discipline.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Jesus, The Way to our Father

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! After a cloudy start, the sun is out and the breeze is blowing, and I still have the A/C on from yesterday! The temp got up into the eighties yesterday and today will be about the same. Good weather!

What a difference a day makes! I have not been feeling well because of a new medication the doc prescribed for me, so I discontinued the med. and thought I would be all right to attend church yesterday; got all dressed and ready to go, went out to the car, and just the thought of walking into church seemed impossible, I was suddenly so tired, so I came back in and changed clothes to rest. I was not happy to find that there is nothing on TV that is a church service that late, and did not think to go online for a live streaming of something. I really wanted to hear our Supt. speak, but hopefully, I can pick him up from the church website. Sigh. I am happy to report that I feel almost back to normal, now...normal, for me, that is!

I drove over to the park much later in the afternoon, and saw a black and white anhinga on the weir, and a baby gopher tortoise near the large gopher hole further down. The I saw my favorite...a roseate spoonbill near the first bridge! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

John 14:21-25

Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And
because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will reveal
myself to each one of them.

Judas, (not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name), said to
him."Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not
to the world at large?"

Jesus replied, " All those who love me will do what I say. My Father
will love them, and we will come to them and live with them. Anyone
who doesn't love me will not do what I say. And remember, my words
are not my own. This message is from the Father who sent me. I am
telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the
Father sends the Counselor as my representative--and by the Counselor
I mean the Holy Spirit--he will teach you everything and will remind
you of everything I myself have told you."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Greetings from Jude

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! More sun and temps in the cool seventies to start off the day, but it is still a little chilly to me, because I haven't been moving around much.

I got some things done that I intended to do yesterday, and felt good about that.  It is always good to get goals accomplished. Brian made reservations for us to have lunch at the Hangar for Easter. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long. Even though you can make the reservations, it does not guarantee that a table will be waiting for you ! It is a popular place!

I got a chicken sandwich and small barbeque salad from Wendy's Wed.  and had the salad for lunch yesterday. It was good, with lots of chicken! I must say, though, the next time I go to Wendy's I will skip 83rd and 9th St. because of the massive construction blocking all but one lane on four sides of the intersection! What a mess! Seems like there is construction in many parts of the city, but the pot holes keep getting deeper before they are filled up!

I saw more people taking pictures and just looking at the hawk's nest at the park yesterday. It is built so high up, they have to crane their necks to see it! An ibis was busy pecking in the canal. Since the water is so low, they find it easier to peck out the grubs. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jude

But you, dear friends, must continue to build your
lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray
as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. Live in such a way
that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal
life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to
give you. Show mercy to those whose faith is wavering.
Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of
judgment. There are still others to whom you need to
show mercy, but be careful that you are not contaminated by their sins.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 22

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Sunshine and cool breezes...a great start to the day that will warm up quickly!

I am running seriously behind already, in the things I had planned to do, but when I stop and think about it, it doesn't matter whether I get the laundry done or go grocery shopping at a certain time, because the only one I have to please is me! That's a good feeling in a way...

I was just watching a squirrel sitting on the wall on the front porch, industriously munching on an acorn. They seem to sit in the same spot all the time, because I see hulls left in a little pile daily. The little critters are cute, though. We had one family of squirrels that were so tame, when Louis would sit outside they would climb up his pant leg to sit in his lap and get the peanuts he handed them! We have had several generations of squirrels since then and none so tame!

Not much was going on at the park yesterday.just the low water in the canal and ibis pecking around and squirrels running back and forth, but God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 22:23-28
Praise the Lord, all you who fear him!
Honor him, all you descendants of  Jacob!
Show him reverence, all you descendents of Israel!
For he has not turned and walked away.
'He has listened to their cries for help.

I will praise you among all the people:
I will fulfill my vows in the presence of
those who worship you.'The poor will eat and be satisfied.
All who seek the Lord will praise him.
Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.
The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him.
People from every nation will bow down before him.
For the Lord is King!
He rules all the nations!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Binding

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! One minute the sun was shining brightly through the front windows and the next it was raining, but now, the rain has cleared off and once again we have the sun shining. The air is slowly cooling, and, even though it is still not really cool, I had to get up about 3 AM and put my fleece throw on the bed for warmth! I will do the same before I get in bed tonight! Then, it will warm up again and we are in for summer weather for the next six months!

I am slowing down and did not go out much yesterday, but did make it over to the park, where I dodged around a woman standing in the middle of the road pointing her camera straight up in the oak trees. I have seen a couple other people training binocs up into the trees next to the building, so I am thinking there is a hawk's nest high up in the trees. The hawk built a nest right over the sidewalk one year and I was able to see the ugly babies sticking their fuzzy heads over the sides of the big nest. They are ugly because they have huge eyes and yellow fuzzy down, but to mom, I guess they are beautiful.

I saw the roseate spoonbills again, so that was a pink spot of beauty against the mud. Some ibis were also enjoying the grubbing in the mud further down the canal. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two people can accomplish more than twice
as much as one; they get a better return for their labor.
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.
But people who are alone when they fall are in
real trouble. And on a cold night, two under the
same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how
can one be warm alone? A person standing alone
can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand
back- to- back and conquer. Three are even better,
for a triple- braided cord is not easily broken.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 73

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have had rain already, but not thunderstorms or hard showers, just a light rain. It is still dripping off the roof, and maybe more is coming, , but although it is still not sunshiny, the wetness will move on shortly and we will have cool, drier air later this afternoon. Then, it will be our last cool weather until October!

I did not do much yesterday, except read, but I did get over to the park, I saw such a beautiful sight in a great white heron standing in the middle of the canal, which is very low. Because the contrast between the whiteness and the dark, mud color of the canal, the heron seemed even whiter! Several ibis were pecking away further down. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 73:23

I was so foolish and ignorant---
I must have seen like a senseless animal to you..
Yet I still belong to you;
you are holding my right hand.
You will keep on guiding me with your counsel.
leading me to a glorious destiny.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth.
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart.
He is mine forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 147

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun is shining, but the wind is blowing and clouds are scudding about. I saw the big line of a front that is heading this way, so tonight we are in for rain and probably tomorrow, also. But, yesterday was a beautiful, very warm day. In fact, I had my A/C on in the house. Seems like I turn it on earlier each year!

Yesterday was my younger son's birthday, and I discovered about three or four others in church had the same birthday, including the pastor! I have always loved the month of April! We had a good service, with communion served at the end.

I drove through the park on my way home and saw the water in the canal had really gone down again. I remember how dry the lake was some years ago, when it was actually mud. I was at the tower and saw a turtle struggling to get through the mud. That was a really dry year! There were quite a few people out enjoying the sun and shade and barbequing . A hawk flew up in front of me from the canal as I drove in. He had something in his claws and headed for the tall trees over the lake on the right. Must have had a nest there. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 147:7-11
Sing out your thanks to the Lord;
sing praises to our God, accompanied by harps.
He covers the heavens with clouds,
provides rain for the earth,
and makes the green grass grow in mountain pastures.
He feeds the wild animals,
and the young ravens cry to him for food.
The strength of a horse does not impress him;
how puny in his sight is the strength of a man.
Rather, the Lord's delight is in those who honor him.
Those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

A Call to Remain Faithful

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have some high clouds today and wind, but earlier the sunrise was beautiful. It is still so warm, I left a window open last night, but a blanket on the bed still feels good.

Well, I no longer have a garden of oak trees growing in the rain gutter! Rick, my handy man came yesterday and cleaned out the mud, leaves, etc. that had accumulated, then ran the hose water through to make sure everything was open. So, all is good! I have said this before, but I am so happy to have people available to do what needs to be done!

I saw the roseate spoonbills yesterday at the park. They had worked their way almost to the second bridge, just concentrating on their scooping up whatever they eat. What a pretty contrast they make against the muddy, dark background of the swampy banks of the canal! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jude

"But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives
on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray
as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. Live in such a way
that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal
life that our Lord, Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give
you. Show mercy to those who faith is wavering. Rescue
others by snatching them from the flames of judgment.
There are still others to whom you need to show mercy,
but be careful that you aren't contaminated by their sins.

And now, all glory to God, who is able to keep you from
stumbling, and who will bring you into his glorious presence
innocent of sin and with great joy. All glory to him, who alone
is God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Yes, glory,
majesty, power, and authority belong to him. in the beginning,
now, and forevermore. Amen.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Power of God

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Once again, we have a great beginning to a perfect day! Sun, and a cool breeze and later on, it will be almost warm enough for A/C. In fact, I was tempted to turn it on yesterday, because even though I had opened windows, it still got a little warm after the ladies left me with a clean house in the afternoon.

I was pleased with what I accomplished yesterday. I did all my ironing, which took about thirty minutes, got the laundry done, then drove to Walmart to gas up the van. After that, I headed out to the Touch Free car wash on 66th St. and got all the pollen cleaned off. It looks nice and shiny, now.(The van).

I stopped by the Park on the way out and saw the herons pecking along the banks of the canal, and quite a few cars, even though school was not out, yet. I also noticed a family which looked like they had triplet boys about two years old. So Cute! What a couple hands full! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know
the the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all
the earth? He never grows faint or weary. No one can
measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power
to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength
to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and
young men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord
will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like
eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will
walk and not faint.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 28

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is perfect weather these days...cool nights and warm days with lots of sunshine! The oak trees have finally stopped dropping the seeds and have new green leaves, so the porch is staying clean after being blown off. That's a good thing!

I noticed a pretty, jacaranda was in bloom when I passed by one the other day. Not all are blooming yet, but even though they are messy as the flowers fall, they are still lovely in the lavender color. After they bloom, the Royal Poinciana blooms in their brilliant colors show off! Ah, spring! What a colorful time in Florida!

Well, I noticed the former Sweetbay on 4th St. had a lot of cars in the parking lot, as they were working to change it into a Winn Dixie. That still seems strange to me. I liked Sweetbay, but I was in the WD store a couple days ago, at Rutland Plaza, and I was impressed with how cleaned up the store was, even though I am not impressed with the way it is laid out. I guess Publix takes the prize on that, but maybe that's just because I am used to it.

On my way to the Park yesterday, I passed my friend David, but he didn't see me...just passing by in traffic, but once I got to the park
I saw the very old, large, gopher tortoise walking in a hurry to someplace  yesterday. I don't know where he was going, but his short, stubby legs were really moving. At least for a turtle!. The roseate spoonbills were not in sight, but the white herons were having a good time poking their beaks in the mud to scoop up bugs and grubs and what not. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 28:6,7
Praise the Lord!
For he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength, my shield from every danger.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! And Happy April Fool's Day! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun is shining and the air is still, although it is still cool, as soon as the sun gets higher, we will have a warm, beautiful day!

Yesterday, my yard crew came and had what little grass I have left looking nice and trimmed. I have decided that the new guy does not know anything about plants...he just knows how to make the grass look nice.  Well, my handy man knows about plants, so I have a back-up. What would I do without people to do the work I no longer am able to?

The Times this morning, featured a photo of two roseate spoonbills at Sawgrass. I saw them Friday and yesterday. They are very busy close to the entrance bridge, pecking and moving among the bushes and reeds, scooping up whatever it is they eat. They are so beautiful, with the deep pink of their feathers! I love their colors!

Well, baseball season started and I watched the Rays win their first game with about 31000 people filling the Trop! What a great start to the season! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:35-39
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble
or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or
in danger or threatened with death?
(Even the scriptures say ,"For your sake we are killed
every day, we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No,
despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours
through Christ who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us
from his love. Death can't and life can't. The angels can't
and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries
about tomorrow and even the powers of hell can't keep
God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky, or
in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be
able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
Thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
