Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Another beautiful, dry day is ahead of us and I have an appointment with my dentist. Not my idea of a good way to spend the morning. Well, it comes around every six months and this is the day.

I hope you all who have had clear skies have been able to see Jupiter beside the full moon night before last. Last night, Jupiter was way off to the right of the moon, but still shining brightly! "The majesty and glory of his name". What a sight!

The icicle lights are up all around the house, thanks to Rick, but nothing much has been done to the inside, yet. Putting up the all the time things and getting out the decorations is the hardest. My friend, Cheryl, from across the street gave me a timer to use for the outside lights, and set it to go on and then off. After a couple glitches, it worked, so I don't have to go in the garage to turn the lights off, when I go to bed. She is always doing things for me. I am blessed to have her.
I ran errands yesterday, including to the cleaners and then went to the park. where I did not see nearly as many birds as I saw around Lynch Lake. Ibis, ducks, wood storks and moor hens, all were gathered around and in the lake yesterday. God is good!

From the NASB

Romans 15:
We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please the neighbor for his good leading to edification.

For even Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, "The approaches of those who reproached You fell on me."...

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded  toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Advantage of Companionship

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had a lot of fog earlier, but now the sun is shining and it is warming up. Another beautiful day!

Rick, my handy man came early and put up the outside Christmas lights, cleaned out the rain gutter, which was full of leaves and acorns, and changed a bulb in the kitchen. He is a good man, and I am blessed to know someone who can do work for me. He said he is two weeks behind in his work, so I am not the only one who relies on him.

I went to Cartek yesterday when I noticed I had a front tire which looked a little soft, and Ray checked all the tires and said they were a little low on air. Tomorrow I take the car in for service. Ray is a good man, too! After I left the shop, I stopped in at the Park, to check it out and saw three wood storks standing along the bank of the canal, just looking in the water. That's a little unusual, seeing them there, because they usually do not hang out at the park. I also saw the usual anhinga drying wings and a few ibis pecking along. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ecclesiastes 4:7-12

I observed yet another example of meaningless in our world.
This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother,
yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can.
But then he asks himself, Who am I working for?
Why am I giving up so much pleasure now? It is all so
meaningless and depressing.

Two people can accomplish more than twice as much
as one; they get a better return for their labor.
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.
But people who are alone when they fall are in real
trouble. And on a cold night, two under the same
blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how
can one be warm alone? A person standing alone
can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand
back- to- back and conquer. Three are even better,
for a triple- braided cord is not easily broken.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 100

Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Cool in the mornings and warmer in the afternoon; that seems to be the weather pattern for the present and immediate future. But I am still happy I put the flannel sheet on yesterday, because I was cozy all night...no icy sheets until I warmed them up!

I heard the yard man before I was even out of the shower this morning, so I had to hurry and get dressed. I never know when he is coming, or what time, so that is always a surprise! But he blew off the acorns and leaves and piled them up in the driveway, then borrowed my rake and piled them in the garbage dumpster. As we were talking , the leaves were falling, so it won't take long until the driveway and porch are covered again.

After I came back inside, I answered a call from my handy man and he will be here tomorrow to put up the outside lights. I will have to be up and dressed before 8:30, so I may be late again typing this.

After being busy all morning, yesterday, I discovered American Pickers was on. Since I was eating lunch, I watched them for awhile. I really like antiques and like to watch them poke around in people's junk, finding treasures.

When I drove to the park yesterday, after running a few errands, I saw the teacher coming from the cage with water bowl and food dish and then saw an egret on the bank of the canal by the entrance bridge. Beauty among the wild trees and shrubs along the canal. A few people were out enjoying the gorgeous weather, just like today!

Well, today I am remembering that I was married to the love of my life for 64 years, should he have lived two more years. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 100

Shout with joy to the Lord, O earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Ephesians 5

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! My indoor/outdoor thermometer read 53 for outdoors  this morning, and below 70 indoors, so I was chilly. I got up about 2:30 thinking the heat was on, but it wasn't so I set the thermostat to come on and went back to bed before the sheets got too cold!

We had a very nice two day Thanksgiving and I hope everyone else did. Brian and I went to the Hangar on Thursday, and found two friends already there, They invited us to sit with them, which we did, and had a delightful time of chatting and enjoying our meals. Then, Friday, we drove up the Suncoast Parkway, and went to Dunnellon to have another meal with my niece, her two sons and my sister and other niece. It was a beautiful sunshiny day with hardly a cloud in the sky all day. Kim, my niece, had roasted a turkey, so we had stuffing. mashed pots. roasted veggie medley, cranberry relish sauce, and a variety of desserts. It was all delicious!

This has been a busy morning all ready for me. I have my sheets in the washing machine waiting for me to put them in the dryer, which is full of towels, so I have my work cut out for me. I put the flannel sheets on the bed so I don't have to contact the freezing percale, when I climb in!

There was a chili supper at church last night, followed by the decorating for Christmas. I did not go for the first time in ages, because I had  an upset in my innards, but I am fine today. I think I will call my handy man to get started on my decorating if he has time, because Brian has an injured shoulder, and should not be lifting or reaching until it heals.

When I drove to the park Saturday, I saw a lot of cars and a great blue heron on one side of the bank by the weir, and an anhinga drying wings on it. And, across the street, the black, shiny gator was in his usual spot catching  some rays. Then, driving around Lynch Lake on my way to church, I noticed the water was like a mirror, with one lone moorhen leaving a wake to disturb the glassiness. On the far side, a lone wood stork was standing in the water, and under some trees the ducks were gathered. Very peaceful! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 5:15-20

So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 150

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Another cool, sunshiny day with oak leaves falling and some pollen in the air..just follow my nose with tissues! Actually, this is a great time of the year. If you want to be warm, just go out in the sun and in the shade, you will be much cooler!

After I did my shopping yesterday, I took a trip to Rollin' Oats, which was very busy. I looked around for awhile, since I had not been there since they expanded. I will have to go in for some take out from their cafe one day. They have all organic and natural foods, which many people seem to want. I even saw a whole pumpkin pie go out in a man's hand. I say pumpkin, because that's what it looked like, but it may have been something else.

I had stopped at Steak and Shake for an afternoon strawberry Sundae at half price and took it to the park, where I sat and had a few slurps. Very refreshing! The black, shiny gator was stretched out on the bank of the lake and  I stopped and looked at it for a few seconds. Also, the anhinga was perched on the weir, with wings folded. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 150
Praise the Lord in his heavenly dwelling,
praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works,
Praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the trumpet,
praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing:
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
Praise him with  loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

I always give thanks for you remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

A Mixed Bouquet of Blessing

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it !We still have clouds hanging around, but it is much brighter, so the sun will probably soon be out! Since we have not had any rain for quite awhile, I watered all the plants yesterday, including those inside the house. (Not that they get any rain.)  But the Lord provides in His time!

As I drove down fourth street yesterday, I noticed a new building going up along the way, but I don't know just where it is, now. When you are driving, it is not a good time for sight-seeing!  After I left Roger's cleaners, I noticed lots of cars parked around Crescent Lake Park. Of course, the kids are out of school, so I guess those parents who don't work, take the offspring to a park. Good exercise and lots of sun!

Speaking of school being out...I drove to Sawgrass and a group of  teen-agers were walking all across the street. At least, they grouped up when they heard me coming, Sometimes, they would rather dare the driver to hit them. I saw a flock of ibis doing their usual pecking, and the always beautiful egret posing by the canal.

Coming back home, I saw at least one wood stork and a bunch of ducks under some Brazilian pepper trees. Funny thing; even though the ducks were under the trees, they were still looking up! Too funny! But God is good!

From the Devotional book, Quiet Moments with God:

A Mixed Bouquet of Blessing

"Every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
John 15:2

Several years ago, Dale Bedford entered the karate tournament as a goal toward receiving his brown belt. But an opponent's kick in the head changed his life direction.

At first, his brain trauma was considered only minor, but the blow apparently altered his memory. Like a rose bush completely pruned back to the bare trunk, Dale was forced to start over. His ability level returned to that of a four-year-old. His math and engineering abilities disappeared , as well as his hope for a career in cable-TV engineering.

What did blossom was his artistic talent. The boy who liked to draw some girls and animals in high school and was not considered particularly  "good" now supports himself with commissioned oils on canvas, earning up to two thousand dollars per piece. While in therapy at a rehabilitation center, Dale was required to host his own art exhibit of his work.

Dr. Eugene George, professor of neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, has treated hundreds of brain-injury patients. He said that it's not uncommon for someone with a brain injury to develop new talents. "There are usually compensations that occur with relearning, and people with brain injuries always tend to re-evaluate what they're doing with their lives , " said Dr. George.

For Dale, the accident changed the course of his life. Like a pruned bush, he did more than compensate. With appropriate training, and cultivating, and through the touch of the Master Gardener, a pruned bush can produce more beautiful blooms than ever/

Just ask Dale Bedford.

All nature, all growth, all peace. Everything that flowers and is beautiful to the world
depends on patience. Requires time, silence, trust.
Herman Hesse.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 20

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! While the sun is shining this beautiful day, and the breeze is blowing, still, I am sort of chilly just sitting here. In fact, I was reluctant to get out of bed because I was comfy and warm. Oh, well, never was one to lay around. Besides,  being more or less active means I can get warmer faster.

As I was driving around Lynch Lake on the way to church yesterday, I saw a flock, well, it was a small flock, of wood storks. I have never seen that many together at one time, before. There must have been about six, and one of them was actually lying down in the grass. Guess they can fold those long legs underneath , so they can get comfortable. I also saw a flock of ducks with their heads all pointing up. Now, that was funny!. If I had not been driving, I would have taken a picture!

I was also in the park one day and saw the big, shiny gator again, sunning in the same place on the bank of the lake. Seems like they have a kind of radar to know to come back to a favorite spot year after year. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 20

In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry.
May the God of Israel keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from your sanctuary
and strengthen you  from Jerusalem.
May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your burnt offerings.

May he grant your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans.
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory,
flying banners to honor our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed king.
He will answer him from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
Some nations boast of their armies and weapons.
but we boast in the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm,

Give victory to our king, O Lord!
Respond to our cry for help.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Once again, we have overcast and very cool weather. I am sure it will warm up a few degrees by later this afternoon, but I am not used to having such overcast days!

The weather was so perfect yesterday, I went for a walk in the park around 2:30. I didn't plan to, but it seemed like a good idea, so I got my walking stick that Terry gave me out of the back, and took off over the bridge and walked to the first shelter. The sun was bright, and the air was cool, so it was just right. No other people were there, at least not where I was walking, so I had the short space to myself. The only gator I saw was on the way in. The big black shiny gator was sunning on the bank of the lake again, all stretched out. I saw a brilliant white egret at the edge of the canal, looking hopefully at the fish. And lots of ripples from said fish swimming around. It was a glorious day! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 3:14-21

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan,

I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in
heaven and on earth. I pray that from his
glorious, unlimited resources , he will give you
mighty, inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray
that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts
as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep
into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have
the power to understand, as all God's people should,
how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love
really is.

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great
you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled
with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us,
he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would
ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church
and to Christ Jesus  forever and ever through endless ages.
Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 62

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Another in the series of overcast days and late sunshine, but still no rain. When I went out to look for the paper this morning, I finally found it on one corner of the porch, hidden by the large poinsettia potted plant, which had been knocked over when the paper was thrown . With no rain, I have tried to keep the plants watered, so not too much of the soil was spilled out.

My cleaning ladies came yesterday, and we chatted while they worked. They are both going camping for Thanksgiving; Cheryl with her brothers at Ft. DeSoto, in their campers, and Kim and her husband in a cabin at a campground near Lake Wales. So, I asked jokingly, who was going to call me when the porch light was not on after dark and check up on me to see if I was Okay. They laughed and said I was on my own. But I really appreciate that Cheryl is so watchful of me. I think she is a born caretaker.

My yard man, Jason, also came unexpectedly, and he, also, is taking a few days off next week, so he was doing his lawns early. He blew off  the porch and driveway, which were covered with acorns, mostly smashed on the driveway. He had also trimmed some oak trees which had sprung up behind my hedge and disposed of them. He noticed that there are two holes under the fence, which seem to be bunny holes. I have seen a couple brown bunnies in the yard, but not for awhile.

I drove over to the park later, and saw that not many people were there, but it was very peaceful and quiet with ibis pecking and butterflies flitting about. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 62:5-12

I wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy
can reach me.

O My people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
for God is our refuge.

From the greatest to the lowliest---
all are nothing in his sight.
If you weigh them on the scales,
they are lighter than a puff of air.
Don't try to get rich
by extortion or robbery.
And if your wealth increases,
don't make it the center of your life.

God has spoken plainly,
And I have heard it many times.
Power, O God, belongs to you.
Unfailing love, O Lord, is yours.
Surely you judge all people
according to what they have done.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Lord's charge to Joshua

Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have an overcast, cooler morning so far, but a promise of getting warmer this afternoon. It is so strange when the sun does not shine, simply because that is so normal for this area.

I saw an unusual sight yesterday in a neighborhood yard as I was leaving to do errands. Three wood storks were standing sentinel like, in a driveway. I believe that is the first time I have seen them not on the bank of water someplace.. They are really big birds!

I drove out to Walmart to gas the van up and was pleased to see that prices are down and seem to be getting close to $3 a gal. Actually, I paid more for a half gallon of milk, than for a gallon of gas! Made the mistake of buying the milk at Farm Store. Lesson learned.

I stopped by the park on the way back and it was very busy with a lot of people enjoying the beautiful day! I was pleased to see the gopher tortoise ambling along near his hole in the ground. I had noticed it was freshly used, but had not seen the gopher in a few weeks. I did not see the moorhens or the anhinga on the weir, but God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Joshua 1:5-9
No one will be able to stand their ground against you as long
as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not
fail you or abandon you.

Be strong and courageous, for you will lead my people to
possess all the land I swore to give my ancestors. Be strong and
very courageous. Obey all the laws  Moses gave you. Do not turn
away from them, and you will be successful in every thing you do.
Study the book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be
sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you
succeed. I command you..be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you
wherever you go.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Let God Guide the Way

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Believe it or not, I turned on the a/c late yesterday evening. It was so warm in the afternoon, I closed the southern kitchen window because too much heat was coming in! This is in the middle of November! Today is slightly cloudy, but we have had sunshine already, and it is still warm. I took one blanket off the bed yesterday and will put it back on if we get a cold front anytime soon, but meanwhile it is summer again!

I had to make a trip to Publix yesterday, because I was low on a lot of groceries. I had my list all made out and followed it closely, except I discovered a lot of buy one, get one free deals that I had not counted on, so I had to take advantage of those, too! The only thing I forgot was milk which I am almost out of. Oh, well, I will get some today. The bakery had pumpkin muffins, so, of course, I had to pick a four pack up, two of which are already gone!

After doing laundry, I swept up the porch again, and as I was sweeping, more acorns were falling, along with the autumn leaves...hmmm, reminds me of a song. It was a good productive day and God is good!

From the Little book of Devotions, Knowing God:

The true children of God are those who let God's Spirit lead them.
Romans 8:14 NCV

The Bible promises that God will guide you if you let Him.
Your job is to let Him. But sometimes, you will be tempted to do otherwise.
Sometimes, you'll be tempted to go along with the crowd; other times, you'll
be tempted to do things your way, not God's way. When you feel these temptations, resist them.

God has promised that when you ask for His help, He will not withhold it. So ask.
Ask Him to meet the needs of your day.
Ask him to lead you, to protect you, and to correct you.  And trust the answers He gives.

God stands at the door and waits. When you knock, He opens.
When you ask, He answers. Your task, of course, is to seek His guidance
prayerfully, confidently, and often.

                                                                     -Great Thoughts-

We have ample evidence that the Lord is able to guide. The
promises cover every imaginable situation. All we need to do
is to take the hand he stretches out.

                                                                    -Today's Prayer-

Dear Lord, thank You for Your constant presence and Your constant love.
I draw near to You this day with the confidence that You are ready to
guide me . Help me walk closely with You, Father, and help me share Your
Good News with all who cross my path.
Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Battle Hymn

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon! Perfect weather this time of year. This is what we hope and look forward to during the long, hot summer days! Bright sunshine and no clouds, so it is a beautiful day!

Brian and I drove out to Bay Pines Cemetery Saturday afternoon and I was so impressed by the careful mowing work that had been done. The grass was clipped precisely at each in ground marker, in readiness for the ceremonies for Veteran's Day on  Sunday.. It was quiet with only a couple cars at various spots. We placed flowers and visited for a few minutes, then made our way towards home. On the way, we stopped in at Little Italy for pizza, along with many others That is a busy place!.  I had pizza for lunch yesterday and I still have a slice left! We should have ordered a smaller one....

Yesterday, after church, I drove to the park, and saw a lot of people there, including three Buddhist monks dressed in their saffron colored robes, striped socks and sandals. I think they are Buddhist, but not  sure. Anyway, I also saw a large, shiny, black gator sunning along the bank of the lake on the right side. He has not been there for many months. Most people do not notice the gators over there, because they don't look as they are whizzing in. But God is good!

In honor of our veterans and those who are serving now, here are the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic:

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored.
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword.
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps.
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps.
His day is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat.
He is sifting out the hearts of mem before His judgment seat.
O be swift, my soul, to answer Him, be jubilant, my  feet!
Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea.
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me.
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free.
While God is marching on!

Glory, glory Hallelujah! Glory, glory Hallelujah!
Glory, glory, Hallelujah! Glory, glory Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Last night was the coldest yet for this fall/winter, so I was glad I had put another blanket on the bed. But once again, the sky is a clear blue and no clouds in sight! However, the wind has picked up, which makes for nice sweater weather outdoors. This is a beautiful time of the year!

Well, I took a couple watches to the jewelry store yesterday to get new batteries installed, and when I got home, discovered one of them still didn't work, so I guess that means another trip today. They are not expensive watches, but I like to change every so often.  I ran a couple other errands and my last one was Dunkin' Donuts for pumpkin muffins. When I opened them at home, I found two choc. chip muffins, very dry. Humpf!  Guess next time, I will try Starbuck's, which I hear are very good.  I could go ahead and bake my own, but it is more fun to buy!

I, of course, had to stop by the Park. and check out what was going on in the animal kingdom. Some turtles were flattened out on the side of the weir, while the anhinga was on the other side of the canal, enjoying the sun. The moorhen family finally found out how to get past the gate and were running around inside and outside. They look so different when they are out of the water, because their legs are longer than they look when they are just paddling around. Seems like the wood storks are coming back more and more. Another large one was on the banks of Lynch Lake, taking time to preen. I also saw one of the tiny canary like birds that come down in the winter. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 1:15-23

Ever since I first heard of your strong faith
in the Lord Jesus and your love for Christians
everywhere, I have never stopped thanking
God for you. I pray for you constantly,
thanking God the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ , to give you spiritual wisdom and under-
standing so that you might grow in your
knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts
will be flooded with light so that you can under
stand the wonderful future he has promised
to those he called. I want you to realize what
a rich and glorious inheritance he has given
to his people.

I pray that you will begin to understand the
incredible  greatness of his power for us
who believe  him. This is the same mighty
power that raised Christ  from the dead  and
seated him in the place of honor at God's
right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is
far above any ruler or authority  or power or
leader or anything else in this world or in the
world to come. And God has put all things
under the authority of Christ, and he gave
him this authority for the benefit of the church.
And the church is his body, it is
filled by Christ, who fills everything every-
where with his presence.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 23

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Clear skies and bright sunshine and chilly temps are what is the day is like, so far. Not a breeze stirring the trees, but the acorns are still falling, and now the leaves of the oak trees are coming down , wind or not! More sweeping...

Well, last night was so cool, I actually got out my winter flannel pjs, and this morning I put an extra blanket on the bed. My feet get cold, and I do not have my sweet bed warmer, any more. I miss him.

After doing some chores around the house, I decided to take a ride to beautiful downtown St. Petersburg. It was a lovely day and the waterfront was serene and lovely. As usual, the Beach Drive restaurants were busy with people having midday breaks and shoppers bustling from one shop to another. It is good to see so much going on.

I drove around Lynch Lake and saw a very large wood stork preening under a cluster of holly trees and bushes, along with a lot of ducks and a few ibis. As I went on to the park, I saw an anhinga across on the bank of the canal at the weir, and several turtles sunning on the weir. The moorhens were not there yesterday. There were quite a few people walking and looking over the bridge. It was a beautiful day! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd,
I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows,
he leads me beside peaceful streams,
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk
through the dark valley of death,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You welcome me as a guest,
anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love
will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Peace

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I thought the weather man said no rain for the next five days, and while it is not raining, still the sky is overcast and no sun is shining now. It was a few minutes ago. But it has turned a bit cooler, and I had the heat on for a little while. When I am not moving, I get chilly.

Well, I did not stay up for the election results, but I was pretty sure by the time I went to bed that Obama had been re-elected. As I was reminded this morning of a quote by R. C. Sproul..."It does not matter who is in the White House. What matters is Who is over it!" So. at least, all the political mail, commercials and phone calls, will now cease, and I for one am glad. I am on the Do Not Call registry, but that does not stop charities, and political calls from coming. One morning I had 8 calls in twenty minutes! I am thankful for caller I.D. because I do not pick up or answer strange numbers with no name.

Yesterday, I went out briefly to run an errand, and stopped in at the park, to see what was going on. The family of moorhens that lives across the street on the other side of the weir, was gathered in front of the gate at the weir, running around and looking like they wanted to get in . All they had to do was go around it or fly,, but I guess they didn't realize that. On the other side of the gate were two anhingas. Maybe they were having a conversation with the moorhens...:o). The sun was shining after a morning rain, and quite a few people were walking around and enjoying being out in the fresh air. The acorns are falling there, just a s they are falling here. I can hear them on the flat roof of our fireplace room, and have decided that is what I hear when I thought it was the acorns falling down the chimney. There is no way anything can get in the chimney. I went  outside and looked, and the wire cover over the top is in place and doing its job, so I don't have to worry about a bird or critter getting down into the fireplace. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

How can I be at peace with others?

Psalm 34:14-15
Turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.

When we pursue peace with others, the Lord supports  us in every way. He guards our steps and hears our prayers. We can pray confidently for him to change our own hearts and to touch the lives of those with whom we want to be reconciled.

Matthew 5:0 God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.

God blesses us as we seek to bring his peace to others.

Psalm 37:37 Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful
future lies before those who love peace.

Bitterness and revenge can never bring lasting satisfaction.

Anger and conflict will destroy our future. God promises a great
future to those who make loving him and living at peace with others
as a way of life.

Proverbs 13:20 Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts
that are planning peace!

Seeking peace with others is one of the surest ways to release streams of joy and peace into our own hearts.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
