Abundance

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  This is also the last day of 2015, and the whole month has set a record for high temps for this time of year! I watched on the news, pics of the band from Tenn. playing on Clearwater beach. They are here for the Outback Bowl. But Sunday is supposed to be much cooler, so they may still get a taste of weather like that back home.

I went to the Library yesterday, and saw two Mormon missionaries taking a break, texting on their ipads or tablets. It is a good place to cool off and get a drink of cold water. They left about the same time I did, and as I got to my van, a large flock of ibis flew overhead and landed awkwardly on the lines, trying to balance as the lines blew in the wind. They were right over the young men's heads and I was hoping for no accidents!

They took off on their bikes and I headed for home, because by that time, the sun was low enough that my visor just barely kept it from shining in my eyes. As I drove around Lynch Lake , more ibis and ducks were gathered there taking a siesta. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Under what circumstances does God promise abundance to us?

Malachi  3:10-11
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so
there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the Lord Almighty, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have room enough to take it in! Try it! Let me prove it to you! Your crops will be
abundant for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not shrivel before they are ripe," says the Lord Almighty.

Philippians 4:19
This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious
riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
God's abundant provision is a gracious gift. When we give what God requires we receive more than we could ever desire.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love! And wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

More time

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have more wind, clouds and sun today and continued warm weather, but that should change this weekend.

I have to go for gas today because it is always so windy at the gas station, I do not want to wait for cold weather to gas up, because I will freeze! I stayed home yesterday and kept busy trying to catch up on things I had been putting off, such as ironing. I got it all done! Yay, me!

1 table runner
6 pairs of Capri pants
2 pairs of blue jeans
6 handmade place mats
but no partridge in a pear tree!

You have to sing the above and have a smile :o)

Anyway, I called the Sanitatiion Dept. to find out if the permission I received(for disabled pick up) applied to the garbage dumpster, also, and yes, it does. The garbage was picked up today instead of tomorrow, because of New Year's Eve, so I did not have anything in the can. I don't know if the driver stopped and came up to look or not, because I was in the shower, but I should know for sure next Monday. That is a good service the city has for disabled people. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

How can I best use time?

Ephesians  5:15-20
Be careful how you live, not as fools, but as those
who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity for
doing good in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly,
but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Don't be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life.
Instead, let the Holy  Spirit fill and control you. Then you
will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among
yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And
you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father
in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Time

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners !This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The wind has really picked up, so lots of leaves are falling and blowing. Mine get blown into the neighbor's year and then down the street, but many of them pile up on the front porch. While Daryl was here, he did some sweeping and kept it fairly clean. In spite of the wind, it is a very warm morning and promises to be another warm, dry day. But, cooler weather is expected this weekend, so, once again, I will be running the furnace for the second or third time this winter. From A/C to heat!

I am not making very good use of my time so far. I have to put clean sheets on the bed, but I got caught up in watching Kelly and Michael. They really seem to like each other and are so funny at times. It's fun to watch them work together.

Well, I got permission from the Sanitation Dept. to have the recycle bin picked up and put back by the driver, with a little symbol on the street in front of the house, but I did not think to ask about the garbage. Brian has been taking it down on Sunday, ant then usually my yard guys put it back by the garage, but they did not come yesterday and my neighbor did not bring it back, so I will call the sanitation dept. once again and see about having it picked up and brought back. It is a chore for me to pull it back and use my cane for balance.

Yesterday, I drove to the bank and passed Lynch Lake on the way. Large flocks of ibis, including two wood storks and Muscovy ducks were gathered on one side, and as I slowly rode by admiring them, one of the wood storks rose in flight. It was the first time I had seen one fly. Impressive wing span! However, instead of looking graceful, it looked awkward, but I was still impressed. God is good!

How can I best use time?

Psalm 90:12
Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
There is a time for everything; a season for every activity
under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time
to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild. A time to cry and
a time to laugh. a time to grieve and a time to dance. A time
to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to keep
and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak up. A time to love and a
time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace. What do
people really get for all their hard work? I have thought about
this in connection with the various kinds of work God has given
people to do. God has made everything beautiful for its own time.
He has planned eternity in the human heart, but even so, people
cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end.
Valuing time begins with seeing it from God's perspective. When we do
this, we learn that there is always time for accomplishing God's plan
for our lives.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Wisdom

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!

After the very warm Christmas, we continue with the high seventies and low eighties weather, but we really need rain, so maybe in the next few days, God will bless us with some.

I don't know about you all, but I still have decorations up, and the table set for our Christmas dinner, well, the place mats are still in place, but everything else is cleared off and put away. We had my sister and niece, and Brian and Daryl and me, and another niece in spirit, since she wanted to be here and contributed to the meal. We missed her!

Daryl made it back to TN in good time Saturday, leaving here at 6:30 AM and arriving there about 8 or 9 hours later. He said all the traffic was headed south, while he was headed north. He and Brian got to spend a lot of time together, shopping, while I stayed home, since they were shopping for me, and I don't get around too well any more.

Our Christmas Eve candlelight services were unique at the end. The pastor announced that each car would have a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts on the windshield, but not to be eaten by us. They were to be given away to people who had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas day! A lot of good stories came out of the giveaway and we heard some of them in church yesterday!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas worshiping our Savior's birth and here we are with a New year coming up. Who can hardly wait to see what God has in store for us next year?! God is so good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

What are the benefits of wisdom?

Proverbs 9:10
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in understanding.

Proverbs 3:21-26
My child , don't lose sight of good planning and insight. Hang on to them, for they fill you with life and bring you honor and respect. They keep you safe on your way and keep your feet from stumbling. You can lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant dreams. You need not be afraid of disasters or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

Wisdom produces honor in our lives and protects us from trouble. Wise people know the difference between right and wrong and choose to do what's right. More than that, wisdom is choosing to apply God's truth and principles to our daily relationships and situations.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, with Thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

The Story From Luke

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have wind, and overcast skies with bursts of sun today. We really need rain, but that probably will not come until the weekend when Daryl and Matthew are due to drive down from TN.

We had another good message from Pastor Kevin and the choir sounded great, also. Good music from the worship team, good preaching, and a crowd to appreciate and listen. I saw a lot of faces that I did not recognize, so it looks like new people are still coming. This is good!

As I was on my way home from shopping, Saturday, I saw an osprey fly directly in front of the van with something in its claws. It kept swooping and since there were no other cars on the street, I took my time looking at it. I think it was a mouse the osprey was holding. It disappeared from my sight as I drove along, but I was really trying to see its nest.
I also saw a tiny wren flitting in and out of a crape myrtle that had lost it leaves as mine has. I had not seen a wren in a long time. Guess they are staying up north longer since the weather is warm everywhere, except in the northwest!

This will be my last blog before Christmas. I have a lot to do this week, so I am wishing all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 2:8-14
That night some shepherds were in the fields
outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep.
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them,
and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded
them. They were terribly frightened, but the angel
reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. " I bring
you good news of great joy for everyone!" The Savior,--
yes, the Messiah, the Lord--has been born tonight
in Bethlehem, the city of David! And this is how you
will recognize him: You will find a baby lying in a
manger, wrapped snugly in strips of cloth!"
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others---
the armies of heaven praising God:
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to all whom God favors."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

A Prayer of Praise

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! ,The sky is blue , the sun is shining, and the temp will be up to 81 soon, and it is just a couple weeks before Christmas! No one is dreaming of a white Christmas around here!

I think the plants are confused by the warm weather...flowers that are supposed to be dormant now, are still blooming, the azaleas are early, and my poinsettia on the front porch is still very green, instead of having red leaves. While lots of oak leaves are still falling, most of the trees are still full of leaves and the sycamore trees have shed only a few in the neighborhoods. We don't have any of those near here, I am happy to say, because their leaves are large and messy.

My cleaning team came yesterday, so I thought today should be Thurs. instead of Friday, because their regular day is Wed. But I am confused easily. I glanced through some pics taken in 1991 at the Devil's Millhopper, near Gainesville. That was back in the day when I was slender, and agile! There are over 200 steps down into a jungle like sinkhole that reminds me of North Carolina. Always cool and lots of greenery. Of course, going down is not all that hard, but it's the coming back up that is tough!. Sort of like mountain climbing! It was one of the fun weekend trips that Louis and I used to take. Ah, memories!

Well, it is time for me to get busy and try to get ready for Daryl and Matthew's coming next weekend! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jude 24,25
And now, all glory to God, who is able to
keep you from stumbling, and who will bring
you into his glorious presence innocent of sin
and with great joy. All glory to him, who alone
is God our Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Yes, glory, majesty, power, and authority belong
to him, in the beginning, now and forevermore.
Amen.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! According to the weather report, we will be above average for the next seven days, but maybe it will turn cooler next weekend. And that's a big "Maybe"! Sun and cool breezes rule!

I saw an unusual sight on my drive yesterday. Coming down the neighborhood street toward me was and E Z Go cart like the ones in the park that have an open back for hauling stuff. It looked like a man in an UPS uniform was driving and the back was full of packages, which he was delivering.. To my knowledge, UPS doesn't use golf carts, but maybe this is something new...

I was on my way to CVS where I bought a lot of stuff I needed. It looks like their clinic is being made good use of, because there were several people waiting to get in to see the nurse, and I heard coughing. I made sure to steer clear of any sick people!

I was on my way to Subway, where I bought my favorite sandwich---a chicken teryacki (sp)
. I also stopped in at the park and stopped to watch a roseate spoonbill fluffing its feathers while perched on the weir. I was so pleased to see the pretty pink feathers close up God is good!.

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 145:1-7
I will praise you, my God and King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
I will bless you every day,
and I will praise you forever.
Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
His greatness is beyond discovery!

Let each generation tell its children
of your mighty acts.
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor
and your wonderful miracles.
Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue;
I will proclaim your greatness.
Everyone will share the story of your
wonderful goodness;
they will sing with joy of your righteousness.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is overcast but the sun is trying to peek through and the temp is predicted to be in the high seventies, so it will be another beautiful day in St. Petersburg.

I stayed busy most of the day yesterday,..got my laundry done and as I was taking towels out of the dryer, I heard the rumble of the recycle bin coming up from the curb. this time I caught Cheryl, my across the street friend, bringing my bin back. She is so thoughtful to do that! Some days are good walking/balance days for me and some not so good, but I was going to try to drag it up myself, so she saved me the trouble.

I got out later on and visited the park which had quite a lot of activity going on, with lots of people on the bridge, and others walking and pushing strollers, etc.. A man in a pick up was feeding the squirrels, who were sitting in a circle in the street, waiting for him to throw out food. This is a no-no, but people do it anyway. I even saw a woman feeding the alligators many years ago, but she denied it saying she was feeding the fish and could not help it if the gators ate it!

On the way back home, I saw a flock of seagulls and ibis at Lynch Lake with ducks resting under the clump of trees . God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 145:15-18
The Lord is faithful in all he says;
he is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help:
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing...

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! This is another perfect day as was yesterday, A little chilly for me because I am sitting and not getting my blood warmed up, but outside the sun is shining and the temp has warmed up to the low seventies. Very invigorating!

I have a lot to do today, including shopping, but first I have laundry to do. Brian came over to help me get more decorations out, and he also put the recycle bin at the curb. It was full this time.

Last night I was in the living room reading the paper, when I heard a loud "beep, beep.." it sounded like it was coming from the bedroom, so I got up and checked and all was quiet. I had had a happening with the computer a couple nights ago when it had the same loud beep and a full screen warning came on telling me to call an 888 number for tech help. I thought it was the same problem, but then I heard the same thing while having breakfast this morning. It turns out that it was the car across the street and the noise came from the alarm!  Maybe a child is playing with the keys...

I was on the road a lot for me yesterday, with stops at the library, the cleaners...dropping off my summer Amish quilt for its annual cleaning, and then back to the library to choose a few more books. As I was coming out a woman with two elementary children with her complimented me on my pink and black top. Unexpected things like that are day brighteners!

After leaving the library, I drove to the Park and saw lots of activity with the middle sized gopher  escaping into the underbrush and an anhinga on his favorite perch drying out the wings. On the way home, I passed Lynch Lake where a large flock of ibis was resting and ducks were taking a siesta. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 138:6-8
Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble,
but he keeps his distance from the proud.
Though I am surrounded by troubles,
you will preserve me against the anger of my
enemies.
You will clench your fist against my angry enemies!
Your power will save me.
The Lord will work out his plans for my life---
for your faithful love , O Lord, endures forever.
Don't abandon me, for you made me.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  I was surprised to feel the cool air this morning when I arose...did not expect it. The weather is in the high sixties and the sky is blue with a few white clouds. Still dry, though,  and, once again, we will be in the fifties tomorrow morning, but warming up to the high seventies. Just perfect weather!

I heard a buzzing noise which I thought was coming from the fridge, while I was eating a bowl of oatmeal, but got up to check and found out my yard crew was here early. They just edged, blew off the leaves and left, but I was glad they blew all the leaves off the front porch. I'm sure they love this weather!

We had another good worship service yesterday. Seems the closer it gets to Christmas, the more people come, which is good!   I like the singing and am happy they are including the Christmas carols, now. Pastor Kevin had a very funny story about sliding down a snowy, icy hill in Minn. one winter with all the family, which led to his sermon about JOY!  I love the fact that his voice is loud and clear and I have no trouble understanding him.

I visited the Park Saturday and yesterday. Sat. there were very few people there, but yesterday it was a good crowd, because the weather was so good. A few visitors are showing up now, but still a lot of natives use the park. I saw the large gopher tortoise again and a large flock of ibis. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 15:13
(one of my favorite verses)
And I pray that the God who gives you hope
will keep you happy and full of peace as you
trust in him. May you overflow  with hope
through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

The Lord's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! When I got up I thought it was raining, everything was so dark, but it was just cloudy and soon the sun came out. Now, it is cool with temps only in the low seventies, and a cooler breeze blowing, so, to me, that means long sleeves.

Well, the Hallmark Christmas stories have been keeping me up beyond my usual bedtime, but last night, it was the Packers! What a nail biting ending to the game! Go Packers!

I did a little shopping yesterday and still forgot a couple things on my list, so will have to go out again today. ( I just took a break to watch a bluejay peeking in and out of the thick hedge outside my window. He is looking for berries, which are all gone.)

My dumpster was full of branches and trimmings that Rick had put in it, so after it was emptied I did not think I was up to dragging it back to its usual place, so it was sitting there when I left to shop, but when I got back it was put in its spot outside the garage. I called the "good fairy" who lives across the street, and thanked her for putting it back. She is so thoughtful to do that! Brian had told me to text him if I needed him to put it back. I am blessed with helpers.

I drove to the Park and noticed very few people there. I think they were all shopping because the parking lots I drove by, were pretty busy!  The canal was full and cool looking with the leaning oak trees shedding their leaves on their reflections, and the squirrels were running about, zipping up the trees. I saw an anhinga perched on a bush by the entrance lake just airing out his wings. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven,
May your name be honored.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done here on earth,
just as it is in heaven.
Give us our food for today,
and forgive us our sins,
just as we have forgiven those who
have sinned against us.
And don't let us yield to temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Weary

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have clouds covering the sun once in awhile, but no rain as was predicted and, so far, no cool air. The temp is already up to 79, but should keep dropping during the day.

I had company inside and out yesterday. My cleaning ladies came at 1 and told me about a person going door to door asking for money. Kim thinks she is using the money for drugs, but that's just a guess. She has not come to my door, and, hopefully, will not. But it pays to be cautious.

About an hour after they left, Rick came and power washed the house, cleaned out the rain gutter, trimmed an oak tree out of the hedge, and then strung up the mismatching Christmas lights. He worked until almost dark, and was worth every penny!

I am so thankful and blessed to have people I can count on to do what needs to be done since I am unable to take care of these things any more ! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Who can help me when I grow weary?

Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to those who are tired and worn out;
He offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become
exhausted, and young men will give up. But those who
wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high
on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Choose Joy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have sun and breezes today, but a cold front is moving down from Tallahassee and the prediction is for some rain and cooler weather the rest of the week.

Well, since the house will be power washed today, seems fitting that it will rain tomorrow. Actually, we could use some rain, because we haven't had any for a week or two. My amaryllis plants are looking very healthy this year from all the rain we have had previously, so I hope that means some blooms later on.

I did a lot around the house yesterday, so did not get out. I washed sheets and towels, then finished one book and started another, which I will finish today. I also have to finish up the indoor decorating. Sigh. I just have to motivate myself to get moving!

I see the squirrels zipping up and down the oak trees out front and wish I had some of their energy. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

James 1:2
Dear Brothers and Sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be
and opportunity for joy.

Troubles remind us of two things; first, they remind us that this is a fallen world, full of futility and frustration. Second, they remind us to turn to a God who will never disappoint us. God promises lasting joy for all those who believe in him. This kind of joy stays with us despite our problems.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

How Can I be joyful in hard times?

Good Morning,, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  I watched the weather report on the rest of the country this morning, and saw lots of snow in Minn. Flooding in Tenn. and other states and generally miserable situations all over except Florida. Once again we have lots of sun, and gentle, cool breezes, which suits me just fine!

My yard men came late yesterday morning, as did the garbage man, who did not come until 4 in the afternoon. So, I had to drag the dumpster back up instead of the yard man doing it. But I managed to do it, using my cane as a prop. While I was doing that, I saw across the street, the neighbors putting up Christmas lights and decorating.

I called my handy man, Rick, once again to remind him of the work I have for him, including putting up the lights. He will power wash the house and get it spiffy looking for Christmas and do a little trimming, plus cleaning out the gutter. There is always something that needs to be done!

Earlier in the afternoon, I drove to the car wash and got the deluxe wax, wash and blow dry for the van, so it looks a lot better, after being sprinkled on from the rain in Dunnellon. Then I stopped at the park and saw some people admiring the large tortoise. The canal was serene and full and the trees are shedding their leaves, so the road was pretty much covered. It looks a lot like fall! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Habakkuk 3:17-18
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no
grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails and the fields lie empty and
barren; even though the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet
I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.

Philippians 4:4,12
Always be full of joy in the Lord.I say it again---rejoice! I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of  living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

Joy is a choice, We may not realize it, but we choose our moods and our attitudes. God's promises in Christ are the basis for choosing joy no matter what we face.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Joy

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have another in our string of cool nights and very warm days! Just gorgeous weather! No rain is in sight and the humidity is lower, so we enjoy while we can!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving...Brian and I had a nice trip to Dunnellon with a calm drive up the Suncoast Parkway to where it ends at Crystal River, where the traffic is usually heavy, but this time it was not, so we made it to our destination in two hours. My niece,, Kim, had prepared a wonderful meal, so my sister and other niece and great nephew stuffed ourselves with all the goodies! Suddenly, Spencer noticed it was raining! That was unexpected, but it soon stopped, the sun came out and it was very warm again.

We had a good trip back, going down 41 this time. It is just a two lane highway, but a beautiful drive going past cow pastures and horse farms; a part of rural Florida not visible very much any more with all the growth. We drove through historic Brooksville, with all the old Victorian homes...a nice little town. And then we came closer to home, traffic picked up and once more we were in the city! It was a good Thanksgiving and we were thankful for safe travel and family.

It was a good church service yesterday, even though Pastor Kevin did not preach. Instead, Pastor Dave, our interim brought the message. I think I had heard that one before, but maybe not. Anyway, I was met at the door with Billy holding one door open and Dan the other one.. Dan said he would walk me in, and so I took his arm, which helped me navigate the crowds in the hallway. We discussed the sorry state of the Gators and hopes for improvement and I expressed my feelings about not being independent so much any more and how to rely on other people. Dan gave me something to think about, by saying what a good feeling it gives people when they are able to help someone, so I don't feel like I am imposing any more. Dan is so thoughtful and a great friend. I am blessed!

I drove through Sawgrass later and saw a few wet turtles sunning on the banks of the weir. and further down, a large brown tortoise sitting by his home and preparing to crawl in, which he did.  God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Where does Joy come from?

Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah continued, " Go and celebrate
with a feast of choice foods and sweet drinks, and share
gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared.
This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don't be dejected
and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God has arrived to live
among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will rejoice over
you with great gladness. With his love, he will calm all
your fears. He will exalt over you by singing a happy song.

Our joy springs from God's love, which is not dependent on
circumstance nor on our performance. When we trust in his
love for us , we are far less vulnerable to the depression and
despair that could come from our problems and disappointments.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This  is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  We have another chilly morning , but the temps will gradually warm up to the seventies and be close to eighty by Thursday. My hands and feet get cold when the house is cool, so today I had the furnace on for a few minutes; the first time since last winter.

This will be the last time this week I will be sending a devotional/blog, since I have a lot to do and need to catch up with things I have been putting off. So, here is a prayer from the little Guideposts Prayer Companion, Filled With Joy;

I approach your throne of grace, this day, God,
not to ask--You know I do plenty of that--but to
praise. I praise You for the shoes on my feet. I
praise You for the pillow beneath my head last night.
I praise You for the breath in my lungs, the shirt
on my back, and whatever wits remain in my brain.

Thank You for the many bounties I've taken for granted.
Thank You for those who have been kind to me. Thank You
for those who have taught me, prayed for me, put up
with me, and, yes, corrected me when I've strayed. I
even thank You for the hard times, the losses, and the pains.
I don't understand them, but I'm grateful for Your
hand in every dark valley.

Thank You for the Bible and Your precious wisdom there. Thank You
for Jesus , the Lamb of God, my Redeemer and my Friend.
Thank You for that glorious land beyond life's veil, where
I shall one day open my eyes and breathe celestial air,
and see my Savior face to face.

I'm not asking today, Lord. I'm praising , and I'm thanking.
And I'm declaring that You've been better to me than I've
ever deserved.
Amen.
-Bill Giovannetti

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Brrr! I know some people are very happy to have this chilly weather, but I am not one of them. I guess I don't move fast enough any more to keep the blood circulating so it helps keep me warm. I know the fifties aren't very cold to most people, but it's cold to me! But the sun is shining and it will warm up to almost 70 today, so it is a beautiful day!

We had a powerful wrap up sermon in the Love Illuminated series that Pastor Kevin has been preaching for the past fifteen weeks. I have learned a lot from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd letters of John that I had never thought about before. Good stuff!

I did not go back for the chili dinner and decorating the church afterwards last night. I don't cook chili any more and am not comfortable driving at night, so instead I stayed home and watched the Packers win!  Yay!

On my way home from Boston Market after church, I stopped in at the Library to drop off a book at the book drop. There are two metal containers, one short and one taller which accommodates vans and trucks very well, but someone hit the short one some time ago and put a large dent in it, and I noticed another crinkle in it yesterday. Seems like a lot of poor drivers use the book drop. I also noticed a car parked in the lot with the windows covered. It looked like someone had slept there overnight. I hate to think of homeless people forced to use a parking lot just to sleep in, especially at Thanksgiving time.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I just love the Publix commercial with all the vignettes pictured of families making the big meal and all the human mishaps and joys that happen. Makes my eyes moist. They are up there with the Super Bowl Clydesdale commercials! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 34: 8-10
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
Let the Lord's people show him reverence
for those who honor him will have all they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will never go hungry.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Phippin' thru Philippians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We finally had a little rain which lasted throughout the night..not much, but just enough to dampen down the pollen, which is good. It is overcast again this morning, because a cold front is coming this weekend, and we will have our first really fall weather. By Monday, we will have lows in the fifties! I will probably have to turn the furnace on for the first time since early in this year.

I went with a group from church yesterday to an early Thanksgiving lunch at Miller's in Bradenton. The church had hired a Martz bus for all 36 of us, which was very comfortable. It was tough for us with canes and walkers navigating the steps we had to climb to get in, but there were sturdy men to help us getting on and off . Sitting up high in the bus, gives a good view of the water as we drove over the Skyway. I did not see any boats, but since it was a weekday, that may have cut down on the boating. However, there were numerous people fishing from both ends of the old bridge.

The restaurant was not very crowded, and the servers had us set up with a long table , booths, and another table in the back. We had a surprise waiting for us, as Pastor Dave and Kay came up from Venice to be with us. We all enjoyed a turkey dinner and our choice of desserts. I chose to bring mine home along with leftovers. That was a lot more than I usually eat at lunch! I felt very well cared for, with Kathy as she constantly looked after me, and Hazel sat beside me as we chatted. I was so glad I went! My thanks to Kathy for organizing the lunch!

After we got back, I took my books back to the library, and dropped them in the book deposit, without going in to check out more. I have to do that today. Then I drove on to the park and saw lots of ibis on the way. Also, yesterday, as I drove around Lynch Lake, I noticed that the wood storks are back. There were a couple of them almost hidden in the flock of ibis! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Philippians 2:14-
In everything you do, stay away from complaining
and arguing, so that no one can speak a word of
complaint against you. You are to live clean, innocent
lives as children of God, in a dark world full of perverse
people. Let your lives shine brightly before them.

joy and love!

Protection

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The forecast is for rain later on today, but right now the sun is bright and puffy, white clouds are floating around. It is very warm and expected to go to 87 as we look forward to another record setting day.

Well, I had another adventure yesterday. One I could do without. I decided to go to KMart for some reason. Just had not been there for a couple years and will not go back. I had to park a little distance from the entrance, but walked in and secured a cart, then shopped all over, but did not see anything I really liked, so just bought a bottle of lotion, paid for it, and went out.Instead of going straight out down the slope, I pushed the cart along the walkway in front of the store. There is a yellow painted stripe all along the edge and I thought it was level with the street. Wrong!

As I pushed the cart to the edge it tilted sideways, and started to tip over, so I grabbed at it and then I tipped over and down I went, landing on my right elbow and knee.Right away, two kind people came and helped me up, then the man went on his way, but the woman held tightly to my arm and was giving instructions to just let me stand a few minutes. I don't even know what she looked like, because I could not even look at her face., but she was surely an angel the way she took charge. One of the Kmart workers came out and had to take info for their report. He asked if I wanted an ambulance, and I said no, because I was not hurt that much. So, He took me inside and I sat on a bench while he got a Band-Aid for my elbow, which was bleeding a little and then took down the info he needed. I told him I did not want the insurance people to call, because there was no need. So, by that time, I was ready to go home. I was not shaken up, just stinging a bit on my knee from two small scraped spots, but today my elbow looks terrible. That's the same arm the books fell on at the library and that bruise is still large and ugly. I am still a little tender on the right side, but was so blessed that it was not any worse!

So I got home safely and took a pain pill for the aches and today I am feeling none the worse for wear. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Where can I find protection and safety?

Psalm 121:2-8
My help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth!
He will not let you stumble and fall. The one who watches over you
will not sleep. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never tires and
never sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands
beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not hurt you by
day nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all evil and
preserves your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come
and go both now and forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I heard the meteorologist say yesterday that this is the 21st day for temps. that are above normal for this time of the year. Once again we have sun, breezes and humidity, so it's not time for winter clothes yet.

I took a walk around the outside of the house yesterday..got a lot of sun, but was glad for the shade from the oaks.I don't usually walk in the yard, because of uneven ground, which is difficult with the cane, but I used Louis' three wheeled walker and that gave me the balance I needed. I noticed the beauty berry bush was in full bloom with lots of purple berries on it for the birds to enjoy!

I also went to the park later on, and saw a few cars, but not any wildlife. Only the two and four legged kind...people walking their dogs. But it was very peaceful and I enjoyed the quiet. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 139:1-6
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my every thought when far away.
You chart the path ahead of me
and tell me where to stop and rest.
Every moment you know where I am.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You both precede and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.
too great for me to know!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Worry

Good Morning, dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is warming back up today and will reach the high eighties again, but the air is still a little cooler, so it feels nice. The sun is shining and the yard guys have come and gone, so I know they are glad for the good weather.

We had another good sermon and singing at church yesterday, with Pastor Kevin still teaching on Love Illuminated. I was impressed by some of the answers to his question about what is Faith Covenant noted for? (not exactly the way he put it). It is always interesting to hear what people respond to questions like that. I see new people nearly every Sunday and it looks like some of the people who left for one reason or another have now started to come back.

I have mentioned before the young man who comes during or right after the singing, slips in unnoticed, and leaves right away without speaking to anyone. I asked him his name the first time he came and he said "Michael", so I always try to greet him as he is leaving. He seems to be very shy. Anyway, I am glad to see him when he comes. By sitting on the back row, I get to see people come and go.

As I drove by Lynch Lake Park on my way to church, I saw an anhinga with wings outspread, and the usual ibis, and an egret, along with the ever present ducks. When I stopped by the park Saturday, it was packed! The weather was beautiful and everyone was out and about enjoying the beautiful outdoors! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

What can I do with the problems that worry me?

Psalm 55:22 Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will
take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Philippians 4:6 Don't worry about anything. Instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you want and thank him for all he has done.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares
about what happens to you.

Prayer and a godly perspective drive worry from our minds and hearts.
Peace comes when we pray. release all our cares to the Lord, and
focus our minds on the promises of God.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Paul's Final Greetings

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Lots of sunshine and cooler temps mean the "cold" front has passed and we will enjoy fall weather the rest of the weekend.

After Ray returned my van yesterday, along with the bad news of the costly repairs, which I decided not to have done, I drove to Trader Joe's and did some shopping. It is definitely not like Publix. I had to backtrack a lot just to see where everything was. I had my list, but because  TJ's has mostly organic, they do not carry the things I usually buy. However, I did get some good pumpkin stuff, along with creme filled carrot cookies. Not on my list! But I took the last half gallon of pineapple juice from the cooler and also some fresh pineapple strips. I really like pineapple. But I still have to shop at Publix to get  my usual things.

I drove through the Park on my way home and all was quiet and peaceful. Saw the anhinga airing his wings, and noticed that the water was high and mostly clear. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

1 Thessalonians 5:23
Now may the God of peace make you holy
in every way, and may your whole spirit and
soul and body be kept blameless until
that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes
again. God, who calls you, is faithful; he will
do this....
And may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
be with all of you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Cooler weather is coming this weekend, but already I can feel the difference in the humidity, so the breeze feels nice. We are supposed to get down in the sixties at night. That, to me, is cool!

Well, I had an adventure yesterday. I had to leave my cleaning ladies, who always make sure to lock up when they leave, and go to my podiatrist. When I got through there, I was to go down to my mechanic, Ray, so they could take a look at the van and see what part they needed to order to stop an oil leak. So, I knew the address which was downtown, but I had never been there before. I turned on the correct street, but missed it somehow, and due to a lot of one way streets, circled around for about twenty minutes, still missing the shop, and wound up on the interstate, which I never drive. After shooting a short prayer, I drove with the flow and got off at 22nd, circled back around to downtown, and still could not find the shop. By this time, it was 3:30, so I came back home to call the shop to explain my situation. And, yes, I did pull over a couple times to call Ray's cell, but found out he leaves it in his tool box while he is working. All turned out well, because he came this morning to take the van in until noon, so they can look it over and try to discover the oil leak..

Who said growing old was not without its adventures? Some I could do without, but anyway, I look forward to each new day! To top it off, Brian called and invited me out or he could bring take home, so since I was a little tired, he brought over some Sonny's Barbeque, which I enjoyed. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 59:18
But as for me, I will sing about your power,
I will shout for joy each morning
because of your unfailing love.
For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety in the day of distress.

I always thank God for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

God Bless America

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is a beautiful day for all the Veteran's Day parades and ceremonies, especially the one at Bay Pines.

The sunshine is bright and the humidity low. As I was hanging out the flag, I saw a young man walking his dogs across the street, with a coffee cup in one hand and two leashes in the other. I gave him a wave, which he acknowledged with a lift of the cup. Just being neighborly!

Yesterday I started out to gas up the van, and then headed to the library. It was the first time I have ever been attacked by the books! I was reaching up on the top shelf, which is too high for me, when the bookend slipped away and 3 or 4 books came tumbling down on my arm and left side of my face. I said, Whoa!" and one of the librarians who was shelving books came to my rescue, picked up the books and went to get an antiseptic wipe and band aid for my arm which was cut by one of the books. She said I should ask for help next time I want something from the top shelf, but I hate to pull them away from what they are doing just because I want to browse. Anyway, I now have an ugly bruise on my right arm. But I did get five books I selected...

After that I did some more shopping at CVS and then headed home. I had also visited the Park, and saw the gopher tortoise and an anhinga at rest. It was very quiet with not many people around. God is good!

God Bless America
God bless America, land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
with the night with the light from above.

From the mountains, to the prairies,
to the ocean, white with foam.
God Bless America, my home sweet home.

And My grateful thanks to all men and women serving our country!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wisdom from James

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun just went behind a cloud but because we had rain last night some time, I was looking at the drops shining like rhinestones on the hedge right outside my window. We have blue skies and sunshine for most of the day, with a little taste of cooler weather coming this weekend.

After all the activity yesterday morning, I finally got my laundry done and a few other chores, but did not take the car out because it was still overcast and rainy until dark. Brian came by and put the recyclable bin down for me. He is good to take care of me, even though he works long hours.

I am seeing more and more ads for Christmas sales, and was remembering Pastor Kevin's words Sunday about giving gifts to his children. This is not an exact quote, but he said since Baby Jesus got only three gifts for his birthday, why should his kids get more. They will make it up on their birthdays. Makes sense to me! Of course, when there is a Christmas Eve birthday, like Brian's, that's a different story!

I saw two huge flocks of ibis wandering through a couple yards, with their beaks dirty from grubbing. They follow each other without even looking up! Amazing! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT;

James 1:2-5,13
Dear brothers and sisters, whenever troubles come
your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when
your faith is tested,  your endurance has a chance to
grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully
developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
If you need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants
you to do---ask him and he will gladly tell you. He will
not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure
that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful
mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven
and tossed by the wind. People like that should not expect
to receive anything from the Lord. They can't make up
their minds. they waver back and forth in everything they do...

God blesses the people who patiently endure testing.
Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God
has promised to those who love Him.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! There are big rain clouds hovering right off the coast which are moving on shore, so, since it is already overcast, I think we will be getting it soon. We had rain yesterday late afternoon and actually, it was welcome. The top layer of the soil had dried out, even after all the rain we had last month. We are supposed to get cooler temps later on this week, so fall is coming!

There has been a lot of activity around here this morning, Last evening while Brian was here, we were sitting in the living room and he heard a dripping sound. We immediately went to the garage and checked the A/C and sure enough, water was pooling on the floor. The drain pipe was clogged, so I turned the thermostat up, and called Acme. They have been our service people to go to for 43 years. They installed our original A/C unit and furnace. So, they came about 9 and got busy cleaning the drain, cleaning the filter and then discovered I needed two new parts which they installed. The big helper asked if I wanted the dumpster brought back up and I accepted his offer, with thanks. I will probably get a big bill, but that is one of the joys of being a home owner!

Just before they left, my yard crew arrived, and started their edging, mowing and blowing, so the Acme guys left and I brought the car back in the garage. So all is well at the moment. I am grateful for the helpers I have!

We had another powerful sermon yesterday from Pastor Kevin and good singing. People are so kind to me  (due to my age and the fact that I walk with a cane). It is difficult for those of us who use canes to get through the crowds without getting over balanced. I know I worry about someone bumping into me and causing a fall .It's just that they enjoy talking and visiting and don't pay much attention to people trying to get around them. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 12 12:17-21
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things
in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.
Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible .
Dear Friends, never avenge yourselves.
Leave that to God. For it is written,
"I will take vengeance,
I will repay those who deserve it"' says the Lord.

Instead , do what the Scriptures say:
If your enemies are hungry, feed them.
If they are thirsty, give them something to drink
and they will be ashamed of what they have
done to you."

Don't let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Wisdom

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Just another warm, sunny day in paradise! Maybe, and that's a big MAYBE, we will be getting cooler weather sometime next week, so we wear our boring summer clothes a little longer, and run the A/C longer!

I had an appointment with my dermatologist yesterday afternoon, which I did not look forward to, and sure enough, I came away with spots all over my face where he zapped me with the freezing stuff. I think he makes some of this up! He wiped off what little makeup I wear to protect my skin from the sun, and I told him he was leaving me without protection from the bright rays, but that did not stop him.  He checked from the top of my head to my toes. Glad that's over with for another six months!

Since his office is on Sixth St. So. I decided to take a ride through downtown ST. Petersburg to see how my city is doing. Lots of construction on First Ave. So. and another condo going up near Beach Drive.  But the waterfront is still beautiful and had lots of sail boats out on the bay and the sky was blue, and reflecting off the water. Not many people were at the outdoor tables of the numerous restaurants, but it was 3 in the afternoon and the lunch crowd was finished. However, all the parking spaces were full, so there were lots of shoppers along Central and also Beach Drive. The town is bustling!

I thought since it was almost 3;30, I would pick up a salad at CFA and avoid the drive-thru crowd. Ha! The line was almost to the street and I waited about 15 minutes to get my order. Meanwhile, the manager was unwinding the electric extension cord to the canopy covered computer getting ready for the evening rush, which to look at the long line of cars, had already started! That 4th St. restaurant really does the business! But my frosty lemonade really hit the spot after my ordeal at the doc's!

I drove by Lynch Lake on the way home and saw a flock of ibis and lots of ducks in the shade of the lone bushes on the banks. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5
Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to
pray for us. Pray first that the Lord's  message will
spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes
just as when it came to you. Pray too, that we will
be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone
believes in the Lord. But the Lord is faithful; he will
make you strong and will guard you from the evil one.
And we are confident in the Lord, that you are practicing
the things we recommended to you, and that you always will.
May the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding
of the love of God and the endurance that comes from Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs

Living by the Spirit's Power

Good Morning,Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a duplicate of Wednesday's weather, with another record set for heat at this time of year. Humid and hot! I will probably be complaining about being cold when we finally do get cooler weather!

Before my cleaning ladies came, I drove to Subway and ordered a chicken teriyaki sandwich for lunch. It comes with a honey sauce and that is my favorite sandwich! I ordered all the veggies except hot peppers and green peppers! The veggies were crunchy and fresh and the bread was fresh. I enjoyed!

When the girls came, they were stuffed from eating at Mia Italia where they often go to have sandwiches. They have lunch at a lot of different places, so they have a nice break in their work day. Cheryl also works part time at Office Depot, which is being bought by Staples, so she is a little concerned about the future.  That won't take place for awhile, though.

I drove through the park and all was quiet and shady...a welcome coolness from the heat.Just a few cars were parked, including a mailman who was having his lunch. When I used to walk early in the morning, I would see lots of wild animals and birds just waking up, but all was still yesterday. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 5:15-20
So be careful how you live, not as fools but as those
who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity
for doing good in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly,
but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life.
Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. then you
will sing songs and hymns and spiritual songs among your
selves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. And you will
always give thanks for everything to God the Father in
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

What Can I do with the problems that worry me?

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The weather is a carbon copy of yesterdays and will be the same for the rest of the week. In fact, yesterday set a record for the warmest night and daytime temps! No cool down in sight, yet!

I had my two months check up with my doctor and other than a few complaints, I am doing well. I see articles about people my age or older who are still very active, and think I should be more active, but I used to walk a mile early in the morning, and then was energetic all day, back a few years ago, so circumstances take their toll. I am thankful I still live alone, and not in a nursing home, and am able to drive and shop on my own. I am blessed!

After I stopped at CVS and did some shopping, I went on to the park after a brief stop at the library to return a couple books. All was pretty quiet, the canal was full, a family was picnicking under a shady tree, and I saw a very wet, large snapping turtle sunning on top of the weir. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 55:22
Give your burdens to the Lord and he will take
care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

Philippians 4:6
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.

1 Peter 5:7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about
what happens to you.

Prayer and a godly perspective drive worry from our minds and hearts
Peace comes when we pray, release all our cares to the Lord, and
focus our minds on the promises of God.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! As I said yesterday, we are having very warm days and high humidity and there is even a thunderstorm predicted for today. However, there is bright sunshine right now with a breeze gently blowing acorns everywhere.

Since the yard crew came early and just blew off all the acorns, so far, not as many have fallen on the porch and driveway. But I am sure it won't take long for them to be everywhere. In fact, as I sit and read in the evening, even with the TV on, I can hear them falling .

I have a doctor's appointment right after lunch, so I guess I will get my flu shot when I go. I am late this year, because I got it in Sept. last year. I don't think it will protect me too much, because the pneumonia shots did not mean much. I had one, plus the booster and still wound up in the hospital in January with pneumonia. I was in there on my birthday. I remember several years ago, I was sitting in the ER with Louis while he was examined, and it was also my birthday! Not my idea of fun!

But then, I also remember all the surprise parties pulled off successfully by my friend Mari, for my birthday and what fun they were!  I really appreciate her!

Well, I was driving by one of our drainage ditches a couple days ago, and saw a couple ibis pecking away along with a couple roseate spoonbills! My favorite water fowl! Yesterday I drove through the park and saw the large brown gopher tortoise ambling along the grass. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 63:1-5
O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.

I have seen you in your sanctuary
and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will honor you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest of foods.
I will praise you with songs of joy.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! According to the weatherman, the Temp at 7 AM was 81.The record for this date, is 89 and we may come close this afternoon. Isn't this November? And no rain in sight!

Well, it was quite a weekend, what with the big concert in Tampa and all the trick or treaters roaming the streets Sat. evening. I always leave my light off, since I live alone, as does the single lady across the street, so I was not approached by anyone. However, Brian came over to fix my iphone which had messed up, and he said the streets were crowded with kids. There are probably a lot of half price candy sales right now!

I was disappointed by the Packers loss yesterday, but very happy that the Gators won Saturday, and the Royals won the World Series! Since the Rays traded Ben Zobrist and he was later traded to the Royals, I was happy that he was on the winning team. It would have been nice if they could have won in KC, though.

I went to the Library Saturday, and turned in six books and checked out more. I usually step outside and put them on top of the trash container which has a small table top. I did that and when I got home could not find my glasses. After searching all over, I thought I must have left them at the library, so I called and sure enough, someone had found them on top of the trash container where I had switched to sunglasses. Whew, what a relief! I have a new pair, but they don't fit right and I don't like them, so I was glad to get my old ones back. Note to self; change glasses inside from now on.

Yesterday, I spilled my orange juice at breakfast, and after cleaning up that sticky mess, had no more mishaps, so went to church and heard a good, powerful message from Pastor Kevin, along with good worshipful singing, and communion. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 14:8-9

Love Fulfills God's Requirements

Pay all your debts, except the debt of love for
others. You can never finish paying that! If you
love your neighbor, you will fulfill all the requirements
of God's law. For the commandments against adultery
and murder and stealing and coveting---and any other
commandment__are all summoned up in this one
commandment:
"Love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong
to anyone, so love satisfies all of God's requirements.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is a gorgeous day with lower humidity and temps will go up into the low 80's today Lots of puffy, white clouds with lots of blue sky in between!

Well, it seems that those people who are not excited about Halloween, will be excited about Taylor Swift at RJ stadium tomorrow night. The crowd is already expected to exceed 53,000, but that will not include me. I may be an old fuddy duddy, but I don't think I have ever heard her sing.

I was able to get a few things done around the house and then decided to go to Wendy's for my supper...a chicken sandwich and iced tea. I even treated myself to fries, which I hardly ever order. I just felt like something different. BTW, I saw a survey on FB that listed the worst and best fast food places. McDonald's was worst and CFA the best. No surprise there!

I watched part of the debate a couple nights ago, and was pleased with some responses and amazed at some of the "double speak" at others. It takes a politician to reply to a question and not answer it in fifty words or less. I still like Dr. Carson, personally.

Well, the porch is waiting for a broom today, so I have to do that sweep up job before long. It is just covered! I found out it hurts when one of the acorn missiles falls on my head! But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 133
How wonderful it is, how pleasant,
when brothers live together in harmony!
For harmony is as precious as the fragrant
anointing oil
that was poured over Aaron's head,
that ran down his beard
and onto the border of his robe.
Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from
Mount Hermon
that falls on the mountains of Zion.
and the Lord has pronounced his
blessing, even life forevermore.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Isaiah

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have lots of sun this morning, since it came out yesterday afternoon and will be with us for the rest of the week, Also, the temps will be in the eighties for a while. So the beautiful weather continues.

My cleaning ladies came yesterday, and caught me up on the neighborhood news. The couple that are hoarders, cleaned out their car that was stuffed with bags of who knows what and put it all into a self-store rental van. Then, a truck with a trailer came from a junk yard and hauled it off. What a shame to see a once nice car go to a junk yard. Sigh. Oh, well, different strokes for different folks.

I swept a path clear of acorns for a few minutes, so Kim and Cheryl could come in without crushing dozens of acorns under foot. Before they left the house, more had fallen, and are still falling. The rain gutter is probably full by now! This will be the pattern for a couple more months yet!

I drove to CVS to pick up a few things later in the afternoon and on the way out, was ahead of an older (maybe fifties or sixties) man who said "Ladies first" and then went on to add something about" lovely ladies with hair all gussied up." I took that as a compliment, but replied that at least it was combed! That gave me a chuckle!

I went on to the Park and noticed that the canal and lakes were quite full from what must have been a heavy rain Tuesday night. I was not aware that it had rained that hard, but did see that a flash flood had washed a car into a canal here locally.  Fortunately, the driver escaped unharmed. So, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Isaiah 1:18-20
"Come now, let us argue this out," says the Lord.
"No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can
remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen
snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I
can make you as white as wool. If you will only obey
me and let me help you, then you will have plenty to
eat. But if you keep turning away and refusing to
listen, you will be destroyed by your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!"

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Advice from Paul

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had overcast skies and drizzles nearly all day yesterday, so I canceled my doctor's app't. since it is no pleasure to drive in the rain, and hard to hold an umbrella and walk with a cane at the same time. But, I have to go next week. Sigh. This is my dermatologist.

So, today is starting out the same as yesterday. Apparently, it rained last night because the puddles were on the porch and rain is dripping off the roof. Maybe it will clear up this afternoon and turn a little cooler.

Well, I watched part of the World Series last night, but logged on this morning to see the final score, since the game lasted 14 innings! I am rooting for the Royals, because Ben Zobrist was traded to them and he was one of my favorites when he was with the Rays.

I had a wonderful conversation on the phone with my 100 year old friend, Phyllis. Her mind is still very active and she is still a fervent prayer warrior. We spent many years every Monday in prayer at church for many requests that were written  for us to pray over. I really appreciate all her prayers for me and my family.

Well, the ibis certainly do not mind the rain. I saw a flock of them flowing from yard to yard yesterday, with heads down and beaks probing in the ground as they moved along.
God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

1 Thessalonians 4:14-19
Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who
are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care
of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.

See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to
be good to each other and to everyone else.

Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens,
always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong
to Christ Jesus.

Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but
test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Keep away
from every kind of evil.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Teaching about Money

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is an overcast morning with a light rain falling and more predicted later on..remnants of Patricia or El Nino, depending on what weathercast you watch. From the earlier traffic reports, the roadways are a mess with accidents on all the main freeways, so I am so thankful my family does not have to travel at this time.

Well, a funny thing happened yesterday. As I was typing I reached for my Bible to copy the scripture for the day, and bumped the esc key on the keyboard and everything disappeared! Did not go into "drafts", or trash, so apparently, it is floating around somewhere in space. Since it was late, I did not want to start over, so just took a day off.

What I said was that it was a wonderful, fun day of celebration at Faith Covenant for the 37th birthday of the founding. Our founding pastor, Don Logue, was honored as Pastor Emeritus and there was choir singing of "Cornerstone", and O, Happy Day, two favorites of mine, plus another excellent sermon from Kevin Dean in his series of Love Illuminated!

Tables were set up on the street in back of the church, which was closed off for the occasion, but because the walk was too long for me, I decided to stay inside in the kitchen area to eat my bar-b-que cole slaw and beans. Brian, was with me and Tim set up a card table for us. Before long, we were joined by other friends who stopped by to chat and eat, because it was so hot outside where bounce houses, cotton candy, popcorn, icees, face painting and other activities were taking place. There was also a dunk tank which was welcome on such a hot day!  Thanks to all the guys who took part in it! It was a wonderful time for all! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Matthew 7:1.20
Don't store up treasures here on earth, where they
can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves
break in and steal . Store your treasures in heaven, where
they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where
they will be safe from thieves.. Where ever your treasure is
there your heart and thoughts will also be.

So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life---whether you will
have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life consist of
more than food and clothing?
Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put
food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them, and you
are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all your worries add
a single moment to your life? Of course not!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wisdom

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I was noticing the different and beautiful formations of the clouds yesterday while I was out, and I think it will be the same today. We have clouds, sun, and breezes, just the same as yesterday.

I accomplished a lot yesterday. I shopped at Publix at noonish, thinking it would be crowded, but it was not. As I was rounding an aisle, a lady came up to me and commented on my hair, calling me by name.  I looked closely at her and recognized her as a former member of my church. I could remember her first name, but not her last, so I looked in the church directory for 1995, and there she was! She mentioned that she wanted to come back one of these days, and seemed to know what was going on at my church. Small world!

I had a really nice bag girl named Cheyenne, who walked out with me to put the groceries in the van, so shopping was really a pleasure! As I left the store, and went past Beall's, I saw two work men sitting on the display window ledge intently looking at their cell phones. Further down, four teenagers were sitting on the concrete all looking at their cell phones. Whatever happened to conversation?  Just sayin'.

After putting the groceries away, and having a bite of salad, I took off for the library and returned two books, and checked out six more.. It was a busy place after school, and with lots of people on computers.

Then I drove on to the park and saw a tall, white egret fishing, and further down, the large brown tortoise moving with glacial speed, and munching on grass as he moved along.God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

James 1:3-8
If you need wisdom---if you want to know what
God wants you to do--ask him and he will gladly
tell you. He will not resent your asking. But when
you do ask him, be sure that you really expect
him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled
as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the
wind. People like that should not expect to receive
anything from the Lord. They can't make up their
minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is the same as yesterday; cool in the morning and growing hotter as the sun gets higher. No rain is forecast and although the ground is saturated, the top layers are pretty dry. I see muddy ruts in peoples yards from cars driving on the lawns, so. like I said, the ground is still saturated.

While my cleaning ladies were working, I swept off the front porch. The lawn guy helper who usually blows off the porch, is not getting behind the furniture, so a bunch of acorns had gathered all along the wall. I got them out with the broom as best I could, and there were hundreds! Cheryl was in a pretty good mood while she cleaned; being really silly and fun. They are good to have around.

I took a ride to the park and saw just a few cars, but several people on the bridge talking and looking. There is just something about standing on a bridge and looking down at the water that is really fascinating. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 139:23,24
A Prayer
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Opportunities

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! As yesterday, we have sun and wind and cooler temps, but it will warm up again this afternoon, close to ninety. Still there is a definite change in the air and it feels like fall.

I accomplished some chores around the house yesterday, such as laundry, and decided I wanted a Teriyaki chicken sandwich for lunch, so drove to Subway in Pinellas Park that has a drive-thru. I noticed the new Moe's and the strip center it occupies across the street, and also the Ihop next to it. Seems like PP is growing, which is good. On my way back. while waiting at the light on 34th St. a big fire truck came along with lights and siren blaring, crossed the street and disappeared down the highway. Then, before I got home, another red firetruck came along, so something big was going on. My prayers are with the first responders.

Well, the acorns are accumulating on the porch again, so, since the squirrels cannot possibly eat all of them, I will have to sweep them off. They are not good to have underfoot, as they are easy to slip on. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

How can I know if an opportunity is from the Lord?

Joshua 1:7-9
Be strong and very courageous. Obey all the laws Moses
gave you. Do not turn away from them, and you will be
successful in everything you do. Study this Book of the Law
continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure
to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed. I
command you--be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or
discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Time

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have another beautiful day with lots of sun and breezes and temps in the low seventies, but a bit higher than yesterday. A beautiful day in the neighborhood!

While I was on the computer yesterday, my yard crew came. I thought I heard them, but they did not mow, because it is not necessary in the cooler weather when the grass does not grow so fast. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had blown off the acorns and brought the dumpster back up. Of course, the acorns were falling as they were being blown off, but that is to be expected this time of year!

After my ironing, I decided to go for an outing. I had been curious about the boarding up of the windows at the new Sav-A-Lot store at Town Plaza, thinking they had decided not to open it after all, but even though the plywood was still over the windows, the front door was open and it looked like work was going on inside, so maybe they just wanted to keep prying eyes out...

Anyway, I went on to the park and saw quite a few cars there, with people enjoying the gorgeous weather and the boardwalk. I saw an anhinga with wings folded and the usual squirrels dashing across the road. It was peaceful, shady and serene. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 90:12
Teach us to make the most of our time, so we may grow in wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
There is a time for everything, a season for every activity
under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time
to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild. A time to cry and a
time to laugh..A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to
scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace
and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to lose.
A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a
time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak up. A time
to love and a time to hate. A time to war and a time for peace.
What do people really get for all their hard work?I have thought
about this in connection with the various kinds of work God has
given people to do. God has made everything beautiful for its own
time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so,
people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning
to end.
Valuing time begins with seeing it from God's perspective. When we do
this, we learn that there is always time for accomplishing God's plans for
our lives.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We finally have a little cooler weather...not chilly, but definitely cooler. My indoor-outdoor thermometer read 69 degrees an hour ago. I think that's the first time it has been in the sixties since last winter. But the sun is shining and it will warm up to the low eighties today!

As I was watching  the last of the Packers game, which they won, yay!, I heard a splat on the porch. Since it was dark and the light was on outside, I did not check, but was pretty sure it was the hanging plant falling. I was right. When I checked this morning, there it was sitting on the floor. The hook holding it in had once again come out. I am expecting my handy man in another week or so, so I will ask him to hang it back up. It fell once before and Daryl put it back up at Christmas, so it held for quite a while. It grows so fast, I have to keep trimming it, and since the wind was blowing, I think that is what made it fall.

I had a good weekend. Brian took me to Verizon where my new iphone 6s had come in, so after transferring the data from my old phone to the new one.we were good to go.It is a pretty phone...rose gold, so I got a cover that does not obscure the color, but adds gold stars to it.

Brian put some extra apps in it and I have used it a few times, so it works well. I am amazed at all the things a person can do with a phone like that! Not me, yet!

Also, I watched the Gators lose to LSU. With all that has been going on with the Gators, I did not expect them to win, but it was really close, so maybe it will be a good season after all. But the Packers won! Philip Rivers, the quarterback for the Raiders, had a wonderful game. Too bad he lost. He is only 33 and has 8 kids!  Wow! Congrats to his wife!

We had another good service at church with more in attendance than last week. We are getting quite a few visitors and they look young. That is a good thing.
I drove around Lynch Lake and saw a flock of ibis gathering around a man who was fishing
I did not know they would do that, but they were hoping for a hand out! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

1 John 4:16-21
God is love, and all who live in love live in God,
and God lives in them. And as we live in God,
our love grows more perfect. So we will not be
afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him
with confidence because we are like Christ here in
this world.
Such love has no fear because perfect love expels
all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of judgment, and
this shows that his love has not been perfected in us.
We love each other as a result of his loving us first.

If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian
brother or sister," that person  is a liar, but
if we don't love people we can see, how can we love
God whom we have not seen? And God himself has
commanded that we must love not only him but  our
Christian brothers and sisters, too.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy, and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The clouds have disappeared and now the sun is bright and hot, so even though it is the middle of Oct., we will still have temps in the high eighties.

My p.c. decided to freeze up yesterday, so I could not use it until almost noon, when it decided to thaw. Very temperamental. So,,,I had a day off. I had a call from the Library that a book I had ordered a few months ago had come in, so I went to pick it up, (I am almost through reading it) and then went to the park, I saw two egrets--one at the weir and the other at the canal, both looking intently at the water.

Well, the POD is gone from the driveway a couple doors down, so someone reported it. It is hard to keep an old neighborhood looking neat, when people come and go, and some do not have any interest in how the neighborhood looks. My next door neighbor, who has lived in the house since he was a baby, has no desire to mow his yard, and as a result, it is overgrown and looks pretty bad. I don't have much grass, but the weeds are clipped and green, so it looks neat from the street.

Ah, well, I am looking forward to see how the Gators do tomorrow with all that has been going on with the team. And then the Packers on Sunday. Go Teams! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 12:6-8
God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if
God has given you the ability to prophecy, speak out when you have
faith that God is speaking through you. If your gift is that of serving
others serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching,
If your gift is to encourage others , do it! If you have money share it
generously. If God has given you leadership ability , take the respon
sibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others,
do it gladly.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Pressing on

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Lots of big, puffy clouds and sunshine, but still cooler temps make a very pleasant day!

I see the blue jays and mockingbirds flying in and out of the hedge outside my window and it reminds me of the very large osprey I drove by the other day. He was sitting on top of a street light, very close. so I could almost count the feathers! Of course, he was near the water so he could spot his dinner!

Well, I am expecting my cleaning ladies early today, so I must finish this and get towels out of the dryer. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Philippians 3:12-14
I don't mean to say that I have already
achieved these things or that I have already
reached perfection! But I keep working
toward that day when I will finally be all
that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me
to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still
not all I should be, but I am focusing all my
energies on this one thing. Forgetting the
past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
I strain to reach the end of the race and receive
for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling
us to heaven.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I enjoy this much cooler weather with the lower humidity. Already I have noticed that the A/C is not cycling so much, so a  lower electric bill is always welcome.

My yard crew came yesterday and did a good job of cleaning acorns off the porch and driveway. Of course, more are falling today, but this is the time of year for them. The squirrels should have fat tummys from all the food!

I did not go out yesterday, because of my leg, but it is much better today, so I think it was just a strained muscle. Brian came over yesterday late afternoon and brought me some orange juice and also took the recycle bin down to the curb. I saw blue bins lining the street this morning. Mine only needs to be picked up once a month, because I don't have that much.

Well, I was disappointed about the news of Will Grier's suspension as Gator's quarterback and not surprised at Steve Spurrier's retirement.  Things are always changing in college football, but God is always good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 3:14-22
When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall on my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources, he will give you mighty, inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it . Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us. he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
