Greetings from Paul

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I still have the heat on in the house, but the temp is slowly warming up, and if the sun decides to shine, it will feel even warmer. Then I will have to get out the broom and clean off the porch. With all the wind we have had, I have a carpet of acorns, leaves and twigs covering it.

Brian and I had a good drive to Dunnellon yesterday, going up the Suncoast Parkway, and back on 41 as far as Brooksville. I really like that part of Florida, because of the rolling hills, and pastures still in use...cows and horses. That is a rare sight any more!

As Brian was driving with the sun almost in my eyes the whole way, I noticed an unusual sight to the side of the sun, some distance away. It looked like a rainbow stripe, and I mentioned it to Brian, but then I noticed the same thing on the other side of the sun, and that the colors were just a peachy and yellow, not like a rainbow. Then when the thin clouds cleared away from the top of the sun, all that was left were the two colorful stripes! It was like an aura, but I have never seen anything like it!  They stayed beside the sun until the sun set. I wish I knew what caused the phenom! Any meteorologists out there know?

As we came over the bridge into Pinellas County, the sunset was spectacular and the sun was not in my eyes any more!

We had a really good time catching up with family news and enjoying lots of good food, thanks to Kim for her work in preparing everything! God is good!

-- From the Promise Bible NLT:

Colossians 2:6
And now, just as you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord,
you must continue to live in obedience to him. Let your roots
grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him , so
you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were
taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers  with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

A Thanksgiving Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, the wind is blowing and we have overcast and sunshine and the temps will be dropping all day, so it looks like we will have a freezy Thanksgiving as we head to Dunnellon tomorrow.

I drove to Sweetbay yesterday to get some things for my contribution to the dinner. I had already checked out Winn-Dixie, and their parking lot was so full, I gave up. That the parking lot at Sweetbay was not, does not speak well for their business, but it was good for me. I am blessed that I have five or six supermarkets within about five miles of my house!

I took a cruise through the park after shopping and although there weren't many people there, it looked neat and freshly mowed. It will be closed tomorrow and Friday, so all the little critters will have the park to themselves!

Well, today I celebrate the memory of my wedding to the love of my life 65 years ago. Memories are bittersweet! But God is always good!

Thanksgiving Day   (a prayer)

Father, we around this table thank Thee; for Thy great gift of life,
That Thy love for us is not dependent upon any
unworthiness of ours, for good health,
that we know neither hunger nor want,
for warm clothes to wear,
for those who love us best,
for friends whose words of encouragement have often chased away dark clouds,
for the zest of living,
got many an answered prayer,
for kindly providences that have preserved us from danger and harm.

We thank Thee that still we live in a land bountifully able to supply all
our needs , a land which still by Thy Providence knows peace, whose
skies are not darkened by the machines of the enemy, who fields and
woodlands are still unblasted  by the flames of war; a land with peaceful
valleys and smiling meadows still serene.
O help us to appreciate  all that we have, to be content with it,
to be grateful for it, to be proud of it ; not in an arrogant pride that
boasts, but in a grateful pride that strives to be more worthy.
In Thy name, to whose bounty we owe these blessings spread before
us, to Thee we give our gratitude. Amen.
                                           Peter Marshall

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, TO ALL!

Psoaring thru Psalm 103

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a front coming through now, and the wind is blowing, the sky is overcast and the temp is in the low seventies. Still, we are warmer than most of the country, so, even though we will be chilly on Thanksgiving, we won't have snow or sleet. Another thing to be thankful for!

I got caught up with some things yesterday...did my ironing, swept the porch, which does not look like it now, and took a walk around the house, noting the mildew on the north side, which does not get any sun, due to the neighbors towering podacarpus hedge. I just had the house washed about a month and a half ago, but clean does not last..

I took a ride into the park and saw a gopher tortoise busily digging a new hole. The dirt was just flying, and it really was amusing. If there had not been people standing around filming, I would have done the same, but I have never used the video on my iphone, so maybe the pics would not have turned out well. but, anyway, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

 Psalm 103:9

He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.
He has not punished us for all our sins,
nor does he deal with us as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
For he understands how weak we are.
He knows we are only dust.
Our days are like grass.
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
The wind blows, we are gone---
as though we had never been here.
But the love of the Lord remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children's children
of those who are faithful to his covenant
of those who obey his commandment...

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 103

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Our cold front came through, but the temp did not drop as I had expected. It was cool enough last night that I had put the heavy blanket on before climbing into bed, and I was glad I did! Up and down is the way the weather goes these days!

I watched part of the Packers game yesterday and the players and spectators were so wrapped up the weather must have been below freezing! I don't know how those guys can play in short sleeves and barehanded. They sure had heavy coats put on them when they got off the field! That is why I stay in Florida! No place like home!

We had a Thanksgiving service yesterday, which reminded me of all I have to be thankful for, and moved one long time old friend to come up to me and show his appreciation for our longtime friendship.

I went to the park a couple times and was kind of surprised to see people out even in the overcast weather. Ibis, turtles and egrets were also visible, and there must have been a gator near the bridge, because a small crowd was looking over at the water. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 103

Praise the Lord, I tell myself:
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, I tell myself,
and never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He ransoms me from death
and surrounds me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The Lord gives righteousness and
justice to all who are treated unfairly...( to be con't)

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,

A Firm Foundation

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partner! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have another overcast morning, but like yesterday, the sun will probably come out later and we will be in the eighties again. Seems like the winter wear will not get used much this year, although we could still have a cold winter. And thank you, Jesus, that the hurricane season is almost over and we have not had one, yet!

After I got through at the lab yesterday and had my delayed breakfast, I started out for the library, and finding the parking lot almost full, decided to go to Publix instead, and do some much needed shopping. Everything you could ever want for a Thanksgiving meal was on display and the bakery smell as I walked in the door, was mouth-watering! I did not have my list with me, but once I write down what I need, I pretty much remember it. Which I did!

When I went by Lynch Lake, it was full of ducks and moorhens. I also saw a group of wood storks, so they are escaping from the cold weather in the north already! I noticed the Florida orchid trees are blooming around the neighborhood, and they look very pretty. There is always something in bloom in Florida! God is good!

From the devotional book Quiet Moments with God:

The rain came, down, the streams rose, and the winds
blew and beat against that house. Yet it did not fall, because
it had its foundation on the rock.

Matthew 7:25

The world's tallest tower stands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The
first observation deck rises to 1,136 feet, and the second is even higher at 1,815
feet. Photographs and information  located inside the tower help visitors
comprehend the enormous undertaking of the project. Sixty-two tons of
earth and shale were removed from fifty feet into the ground for laying the
concrete that rises to the sky.

From 1972 to 1974, 3,000 workers were at the tower site. Harnessed by safety
ropes, some of the laborers dangled outside the giant for their finishing
work. Remarkably, no one sustained injuries nor died on location.

Today a rapid elevator transports visitors upward for a breathtaking view
of the city and all surrounding areas. Many feel it was well worth the money,
time and effort required to build the CN tower.

We, too, need a good foundation for facing life each day. As we pray and spend
time with our Heavenly Father, we are strengthening our spiritual
foundation, our support base for life. We are able to see more from His point
of view and not just our own. Thus, we are not overwhelmed  by whatever
comes our way. When we feel we're hanging on the edge or suspended in
mid-air, we can take courage in knowing He is holding us-firmly planted-in
the palm of His hand. His foundation is strong and sure, and He will not
crumble and fall.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis

Roamin' thru Romans

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, it is still morning for another hour, anyway. I am late because I went to the lab to have blood work done, and should have made an appointment. I had no idea there would be so many people waiting! I arrived at 7:40 and did not get called in until 8:30. By that time, I was really hungry and thirsty! So. I went on over and got an unhealthy breakfast at McDonald's. I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I have eaten breakfast from there. Oh, well, I was hungry!

I added orange juice and tea, so it wasn't too bad! I got to watch the shopping center wake up. It was surprising how many people were dancing at the Arthur Murray  studios right next door. Since dancing is such good exercise, that's a good way to start the day!

I saw my first roseate spoonbill in a long time yesterday, standing at a retention pond. they are so pretty! One of my favorite birds! I was on my way to the park and in the park I saw the usual ibis and egrets...always pretty and outstanding in their white beauty! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:17-
Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you don't need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something,
we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we
should pray for , nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with
groanings  that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all
hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in
harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them...

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 28

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! This is another overcast day and I thought I heard a few drops of rain just a while ago, but nothing now. It is still in the seventies and very nice, so no heat, no air needed. Perfect!

I had another busy day yesterday, got some things done that needed doing, including washing sheets and making the bed, but that didn't get done until I got back from my hair appointment about 4. It is always an interesting time at Mari's. While some "beauty parlors" are known as gossips pits, Mari's salon is full of interesting conversations about cruises, clothes, home improvements, charities, etc. Yesterday, our handy man, Rick, stopped in as she was finishing up with me, so the discussion turned to yard improvement and then Kris stopped in, so it was a lot of laughter and fun before I left. Also, a treat of home made chocolates she brought back from her trip to CO. recently. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 28:6-7
Praise the Lord!
For he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength, my shield from every danger.
I trust in him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out with songs of thanksgiving.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Isaiah

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It has been overcast except for a brief few moments of sun, but the weather is still very warm, so my A/C has been on to get the humidity out of the house.

Well, the only one who did not come yesterday was the pest control man and he is coming today. Otherwise, I was able to get to the doc's appointment on time and got called in after only a five minute wait! I always enjoy talking to my doctor. He takes time to find out my interests, how I am able to do what around the house, and we even talked about John Grisham's latest book, which he is now reading. Sycamore Row sounds like one I should read. I think through conversation, he is able to diagnose a lot about the mind and body. Since insurance requires it, I will be going through a lot of tests in the near future. Sigh.

After I left him, I did some shopping before going home and loaded up on things I need. I still have to go to the grocery store before long, but went over to the park, and was surprised at the number of people visiting. I saw a van load of Amish visitors getting ready to go for a walk. They were outstanding in their dress and easy to spot.

I noticed two ibis perched in an oak tree hanging over the water and a black, wet turtle on the bank of the weir. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know
that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth?
He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the
depths of his understanding. He gives power to those who
are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak.
Even youths will become exhausted and young men will
give up. But those who wait on the Lord will find new
strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They
will run and not grow weary. They will run and not faint.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love.

Psoaring thru Psalm 91

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! So, we have temps in the seventies and lots of sun and a good start to the day.

Knowing I had a busy morning scheduled, I looked at my clock before rolling out of bed, and went into the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth and started making the bed, then happened to look at the clock again, and it was only 5:35!! I thought it said 6:35! Well, I unmade the bed, turned out the light, and crawled back in bed for another twenty winks!

I am expecting my yard man, then pest control man, and have a doctor's appointment at 11:15., so it is a busy morning!

We had a good enthusiastic sermon about vision yesterday with Pastor Mike leading us, after some good singing and worship music. Then came the surprising, (to me, at least,) announcement from Pastor Jim that he and Laurie are leaving in December for cold Minn., having been called some time ago to be co-pastor of a small church of 21 people with about 100 some attending on Sundays. They (the new church) have decided not to own a building, but raised enough for a salary for Pastor Jim in just two weeks! They certainly have a challenge waiting for them! I wish them well!

So--first we had three pastors, shortly we will have none! But, I have seen many changes through the years and FCC will survive and so will we! God will provide and He is good!!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 91:14-15

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer.
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue them and honor them.
I will satisfy them with a long life and give
them my salvation.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love.

Make the Most of the Time you've Been Given

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Not much sunshine today, because the sky is overcast and rain is predicted some time or other. We need the rain, for sure, but the weather has warmed up and it is already 70 plus and climbing. I kept the warm blanket on the bed last night and was glad I did. It felt good!

After doing a few chores around the house I drove over to the park and took a short walk on the sidewalk. The air had warmed up and I did not need a sweater, even though it was a bit cooler because of the breeze and many trees over there. I saw a very white ibis silhouetted against the heavy shrubs and trees across the water, looking very Floridaish and some very wet turtles sunning themselves on the banks of the weir. God is good!

From the little devotional book Knowing God:

Make the Most of the Time You have Been Given
Hard work means prosperity, only fools idle away their time.

Proverbs 17:11 NLT

Time is a nonrenewable gift from God. But sometimes, we
treat our time here on earth as if it were not a gift at all. We may
be tempted to invest our time in trivial pursuits and mindless
diversions. But our Father in heaven wants us to do more...
much more.

Are you one of those people who puts things off until the last
minute? Do you waste time doing things that don't matter
very much while putting off the important things until its
too late to do the job right? If so, it's now time to start making
better choices.

It may seem like you've got all the time in the world to do the
things you need to do , but time is shorter than you think. Time
here on earth is limited...is it or lose it!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

I am Significant

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun is shining and the temp is slowly climbing, but I put an extra blanket on the bed last night and pulled it up sometime during the night.l It felt good! I actually had the heat on this morning for the first time this fall!

My cleaning ladies were over yesterday and , of course, Cheryl had her windows open. She loves cold weather! Seems like the older I get, the more my bones like warm weather. I guess my circulation slows down.

Well, I did a little shopping at Dollar General in the afternoon and saw extra help bringing out loads of boxes and others busy putting up stock on the shelves, which are loaded with Christmas stuff. They have a mini grocery store...no fresh produce, of course, but most everything else someone could want. I think they must do a good business from the residents of Town Apts. next to that shopping center.

I took a trip to the Park and saw the squirrels busy racing across the street. If the oak trees there are shedding acorns like they are in my front yard, the little critters have plenty to eat! God is good!

I Am Significant..

Matt. 5:13,14  I am the salt and light of the earth.
John 15:1,8  I am a branch of the true vine, a channel of His life.
John 15:16  I have been chosen and appointed to bear bear fruit.
Acts 1:8  I am a personal witness of Christ's.
1 Cor. 3:16  I am God's temple.
2 Cor.5:17  I am a minister of reconciliation for God.
2 Cor. 6:1  I am God's co-worker (2 Cor. 3:9)
Eph. 2:6  I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm.
Eph. 2:10  I am God's workmanship.
Eph. 3:12  I may approach God with freedom and confidence
Phil. 4:13  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

I Am Secure

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the brisk, cool day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The wind has picked up as predicted and so the air feels much cooler, but the sun is shining, and always feels warm when one is sheltered .

I did not do much yesterday..just took a walk around the yard, and noticed that the new shoots are growing out from the crape myrtle that was trimmed way back last month. I did not know whether that would kill it or not, but it had never been cut back, so it was time. I know one down the street was always cut back drastically each year, and is now a huge tree.  I don't want a huge tree, but just pretty blooms in the spring!

Well, I noticed the front porch is getting full of acorns again, but no point is sweeping while the wind is blowing so strongly, but God is good!

Who Am I? (con't.)

I Am Secure

Romans 8:1,2  I am free forever from condemnation.
Romans 8:29  I am assured that all things work together for good.
Romans 8:31  I am free from any condemning charges against me.
Romans 8:35     I cannot be separated from the love of God.
2 Cor. 1:21,22  I have been established, anointed, and sealed by God.
Col. 3:3  I am hidden with Christ in God.
Phil. 1:6  I am confident that the good work that God has begun in me will be perfected.
Phil.3:20  I am a citizen of heaven.
2 Tim. 1:7  I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
Heb. 4:18  I can find grace and mercy in time of need.
1 John 5:18  I am born of God, and the evil one cannot touch me.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love.

I Am Accepted

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Clouds have begun to take over the sky as the front that is bringing our first cold spell will move in tonight. We have already had sun  and yesterday the sky was gorgeous, as I saw contrails criss-crossing across the very blue of space!

Last night I looked at brightly shining Venus in the southwestern sky and in the other direction, the half moon was very bright! " The heavens declare the glory of God!"...

I did a couple loads of laundry yesterday, which is unusual because I usually keep small loads done a couple times a week. But I just let it accumulate this time. I also did not feel like cooking for my dinner, so I tried Boston Market. They told me that they only close the drive thru when the dining room is very busy, so it was open when I went yesterday. I was very happy about that!

Before I drove to B. M. I visited the park, and saw two beautiful egrets standing together on the bank of the canal, and a couple ibis on the berm in the circle. Not too many people were out and about, but then, it was just after school and before work let out. But God is good!

This is from "Living Free in Christ" by Dr. Neil Anderson;
"The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your
behavior will begin to reflect your true identify."

Who Am I?
I Am Accepted

John 1:1-12  I am God's child.
John 15:15  I am Christ's friend.
Romans 5:1  I have been justified.
1 Cor.6:17  I am united with the Lord and am one spirit with him.
1 Cor. 6:19.20  I have been bought with a price. I belong to God.
1 Cor. 12:27  I am a member of Christ's body.
Eph. 1:1  I am a saint.
Eph. 1:5  I have been adopted as God's child.
Eph.2:18  I have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit.
Col. 1:14  I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Braveheart

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  It is another beautiful day for all the parades and ceremonies taking place to honor our veterans, living and dead. I know there is a ceremony going on right now at Bay Pines, but I wanted to wait until the crowds left before I visited. I will never forget the two years Louis spent in the service and the affect it had on our lives...

My yard crew have come and gone already, and for about five minutes the driveway and front porch are clear of acorns and leaves. That is about all the time it will be clear! I swept a big pile off Saturday, but more fell as I was sweeping.

I wasn't feeling too well yesterday, so I missed church for the first time in a long time. God has blessed me with health good enough so that I don't have any excuse for staying home, and I am grateful for that.

I felt well enough to drive to Boston Market, but discovered their drive thru was closed! I have not called them yet to see if this is permanent. I hope not, because it is really convenient for me to just drive thru, ordered my dinner and come on home! So. I went to Arby's right next door....not as good as B.M., but different.

After that, I watched the exciting Ravens football game with Joe Flacco winning in overtime! Good job! Then went to the park where lots of people were, and saw the large brown gopher tortoise munching some weeds, and an anhinga stretching his wings on the weir. God is good!

From the devotional book Quiet Moments with God:

Beloved, thou doest a faithful work in whatsoever thou
doest toward them that are brethren and strangers withal.

3 john 1:5 ASV

Kevin tells the story of a dear friend and fellow church
member who passed away after a long life of love and service.

At the funeral, his children stood up one by one to tell stories
about their father, and soon you noticed a recurring theme: that
his single most outstanding trait was his willingness to serve
others, no matter what the need.

He was one of those people always ready to lend a hand--to
run an errand, do odd jobs, or give someone a ride home . One
of his daughters mentioned how everywhere he went , he kept
a  toolbox and and pair of coveralls in the trunk of his car, "just
in case somebody needed something fixed."

More often than not, when we hear the word courage, we think
of heroic acts in times of crisis. But in our everyday lives, we
shouldn't overlook the courageousness of simply being there.
Lives are changed when we faithfully provide for our families,
care for the elderly, or lend an ear to a troubled friend. Persistence
in making this world a better place to live--for ourselves and others--
is definitely a form of courage.

Albert Schweitzer, the great Christian missionary, doctor and theologian,
was once asked in an interview to name the greatest living person .
He immediately replied, "The greatest person in the world is some
unknown individual who at this very moment has gone in love to
help another."

As you go about your work today, remember that you could be
someone else's hero.

The greatest work any of us can do
for another, whether old or young, is to
teach the soul to draw it's water from
the wells of God.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Cooler temps and lots of sun this morning, makes for a beautiful day. Because of the different cloud formations yesterday, I drove out Gandy, almost to the bridge, just to look at the clouds.

I could get a different, uncluttered view out there, unlike here in town. It was a nice, warm day, but because it was a working day, not many cars were on the road. I also noticed that gas has gone down again, which reminds me I must go gas up the car today.

I visited the Park and saw an egret looking for food and the moorhen family on one side of the lake. Nearer the boardwalk, there was an ibis. Quite a few people were out, including two mamas pushing strollers, mama getting exercise and baby getting fresh air!

My cleaning ladies tell me that tourists are back in town, because the traffic was really heavy as they were on their way here, Wed., which delayed them a little bit. But with the beautiful weather we have had, no wonder people are coming! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 1:15-18

Ever since I first heard of your strong faith

Psoaring thru Psalm 150

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have clouds and sunshine today, but it is still very warm and will be up in the eighties today. Another beautiful day!

Yesterday, my cleaning ladies came and we caught up on the neighborhood news...since they clean a lot of houses, they get to hear a lot about people's lives and what is going on around here. They put a lot of mileage on their vehicles, switching one to the other, because they go as far as the beaches with their customers. The house is fresh and clean when they leave and I am happy to have them!

I visited the park later in the afternoon, and as I was leaving, saw the big, skinny raccoon once again. He is very skittish, and immediately heads for cover when someone stops to look at him. He is only supposed to come out in the dark, anyway. But, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 150

Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his heavenly dwelling;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unexpected greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the trumpet;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals!
Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 112

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will be glad and rejoice in it! Our warm weather continues with sun and clouds and a slight breeze. The wind from yesterday has died down, but the warm weather continues. Great!

All the acorns and leaves that the yard guys blew off Monday are gradually coming back on the porch. Sometimes the acorns hurt when they land on my head! I was backing the car out of the garage yesterday and one hit the roof, making a very loud noise and startling me!

Well, yesterday afternoon, I had a mystery going. I heard beeps and knew the kitchen smoke detector was going out. Since I can't reach it to change the battery, I knew i would have to wait for Brian to stop by after work, Well, I came back to the bedroom and the beep was louder...still louder in the hallway. I looked and looked for one on the wall, but could not find one. By that time I was about to go bonkers from all the beeps! When Brian came, he changed the battery in the kitchen and bedroom, (two 9 volts were all I had) and then we started the hunt for the rest of the beeping detectors..found one in the sewing room, and two in the hall closet! A total of five! All beeping intermittently  all over the house! Plus, the garage door opener in the van also has a weak battery. Guess the firefighters know what they are talking about when they put out the sign, "Change clocks, Change batteries!")

I got to the park  yesterday and found a freshly mowed, clean looking park, with a few people enjoying the great weather and exercise. One ibis was all the wildlife I saw, but all was quietl and peaceful. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord!

Happy are those who fear the Lord.
Yes, happy are those who delight in
doing what he commands.
Their children will be successful everywhere,
an entire generation of godly people will be blessed.
They themselves will be wealthy,
and their good deeds will never be forgotten.
When darkness overtakes the godly,
light will come bursting in.
They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.
All goes well for those who are generous
who lend freely and conduct their business fairly.
Such people will not be overcome by evil circumstances.
Those who are righteous will be long remembered.
They do not fear bad news,
they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.
They are confident and fearless
and can face their foes triumphantly.
They give generously to those in need.
Their good deeds will never be forgotten
They will have influence and honor.
The wicked will be infuriated when they see this.
They will grind their teeth in anger.
They will slink away, their hopes thwarted.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Looks like our cool weather is gone for awhile, because it is going up into the eighties today with more humidity. There is a good wind blowing right now and sunshine peeking through the clouds, so a good day in paradise!

I took my ten dollar coupon to the Publix yesterday and came out with almost everything on my list, which was a lot more than I had anticipated. It looked like they had a big shopping day on Sunday, because a lot of the shelves were empty of the Bogo items. I took advantage of some of them, which were not on my list! I was at the fish counter where I picked up crab stuffed tilapia for my dinner and remarked about a huge whole snapper propped up in the display. He must have weighed about ten pounds! I can only imagine the cost! What a catch!

After I got my groceries home and put away, I drove to the library, which was loaded because of book returns over the weekend, chose my  books in just a few minutes and then checked out. By this time, I was tired, so after lunch I rested a bit, and then went to the park, Lots of people were out enjoying the beautiful weather. I saw woodstorks, not at the park, ibis, an anhinga, and lots of dirt at the entrance to the gopher tortoise hole in the ground, so he has been coming and going. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 3:14-23

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan,
I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator
of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from
his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty
inner  strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that
Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as
you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the
soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the
power to understand , as all God's people should, how
wide, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you
experience the love of Christ , though it is so great you will
never fully understand it . Then you will be filled with the
fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within
us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would
ever dare to ask or hope. May we be given glory in the
church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever  through
endless ages. Amen.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Effective Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! While watching my yard crew blow and go, I noticed the wind has picked up. I heard the weather report this morning, which predicted gusts up to thirty mph, but I thought that was later on. The sun was shining earlier, but now it is mostly overcast and cool. It is still a good day!

We had such a good service at church yesterday...lots of good singing with the drums back,(since Andrew is going to college in Tampa, he has had to drop out) and my favorite, "Oh Happy Day"!! That one will wake everyone up!

We also had a baby baptism, with Pastor Rick walking the baby up and down the aisles, so everyone could get a good look at him. Adorable! (The baby).  Then a good sermon on Rev. 21 and heaven. Also a fun presentation narrated by Dan Leeper contrasting Florida with NJ. Afterwards, we had a picnic with a cookout and lots of side dishes, hot dogs and barbeque. The weather was perfect for the eating outside. Good company, good friends, good food, both physical and spiritual! God is good!  (And a big thanks to Sam Dauler for helping me)

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Matthew 7:7-11
Keep on asking, and you will be given
what you ask for. Keep on looking, and
you will find. Keep on knocking, and the
door will be opened . For everyone who asks,
receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And
the door is opened to everyone who knocks.
You parents---if your children ask for a loaf of
bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or
if you ask for a fish, do you give them a snake?
Of course not! If you sinful people know how
to give good gifts to your children, how much
more will your heavenly Father give good gifts
to those who ask him.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with
thanksgiving, joy and love!

Nehemiah 9

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners and Happy November 1st! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The breeze is blowing, the sun is shining, and rain is on the way , but it is a great day to be alive!

My adventure of yesterday was going out to Pinellas Park to my eye doctor. My appointment time for some strange reason known only to the scheduler, was for 3:10, so, of course, I had to wait about half an hour to even be called to the desk. After having my glasses tested, and my eyes poked and prodded and looked at and drops put in, then a visit with the doctor who is very pregnant, The good news is...my eyes are healthy, and my vision has not changed in three years!

The doctor commented on how pretty my name is, and knew it is a flower. She said she and her husband are looking for names now, since the baby is due Dec. 16th. Some people just avoid saying my first name because they are afraid of mispronouncing, but others usually remark on how beautiful it is, so my Daddy did me a favor when he named me.

I was able to drive back safely home with dilated eyes, after fervently praying that I would not have a crash, since it was rush hour by the time I got released from the office. My eyes did not completely return to normal until just before bed time!

BTW, I saw several wood storks sitting around Lynch lake yesterday, so looks like they have come back for the winter! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Nehemiah 9:6
"Then they continued, "Praise his glorious name!
It is far greater than we can think or say. "You alone
are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens
and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas
and everything in them. You preserve and give life
to everything, and all the angels of heaven worship you."

I always thank God for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
Amaryllis ( remember to fall back tomorrow night)
