Psoaring thru Psalm 20

Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The sun is shy about peeking out this morning, but after the mist and fog burn off, I think we will have a warm, sunshiny day like yesterday.

I had a weekend filled with sorrow and joy...I watched the full three hours of services for the fallen officers, who were gunned down and grieved with them for lives taken too soon, but saw a true demonstration of faith in our Savior by the young mother with three children . She was in church yesterday with the children and the large congregation rallied around her with prayer. This is Brian's church where they are members. This was also pictured on TV. A good witness.

My special friend, Mariagnes, had invited me to a belated birthday lunch Saturday, so we had lots of fun and good food. She is always a joy to be with. I am blessed! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry.
May the God of Israel keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from his sanctuary
and strengthen you from Jerusalem.
May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your burnt offerings.

May he grant your heart's desire
and fulfill all your plans.
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory,
flying banners to honor our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed king.
He will answer him from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
Some nations boast of the armies and weapons
but we boast in the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

Give victory to our king, O Lord,
Respond to our cry for help.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 23 MSG

Good morning Dear Friends and Prayer  Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  The sun is shining and the wind is still and although it's a little cool, still a beautiful day. I awoke to the sound of helicopters flying overhead because the funeral of the two officers killed Monday takes place today and the church is not too far from my house. I am so sad for the families left behind. The men are heroes, as are the ones who work to protect us daily. God bless them all!

I took time to go to the Park yesterday and saw a big, fat gator curled up on the bank. This one was the biggest I have seen there. He must have been about 9 ft. long and very fat, so he is eating well. Just before I came to the entrance of the park, a peacock scooted across the street in front of me and went up in the yard of a house. His beautiful tail feathers were dragging behind him, gleaming in the sun. Then when I got home, a dozen ibis were pecking in the yard, very busy ignoring me. God is good!

From The Message:

Psalm 23

God, my shepherd!
I don't need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
You find me quiet pools to drink from.

True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.

Even when the way goes through
Death Valley,
I'm not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd's crook
makes me feel secure.

You serve me a six course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head
My cup brims with blessing.

Your beauty and love chase after me
every day of my life.
I'm back home in the house of God
for the rest of my life.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Storms of Life

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! This is a glorious day already with the bright sunshine and no wind. The sunrise was so pretty with the oranges and pinks. I am thankful for eyes to see!

Speaking of seeing, I saw hundreds of robins flying in a group and landing on the wires around the neighborhood the other day. Looks like they finally came down from the frozen north. I also saw the baby osprey hanging on for dear life in his perch high above the field at Sawgrass Elementary, during the last two windy days. I marvel at how God takes care of his creatures. Yesterday, the gator was back on his muddy bed at the lake at the park. The water is very high after all that rain, but will soon drain off, I'm sure. I watched two graceful ibis flying together down the canal and a tri-colored heron gracefully waiting patiently for a fish to come along. The maple trees are shedding seeds already, so one of these days, spring will be here before we know it! God is good!

From Quiet Moments with God:

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
One cold winter day in the 1960s, a major ice storm hit central Georgia. Power outages were rampant throughout the area. Some people owned fireplaces or gas heaters, but others who were less fortunate were forced to seek shelter in the homes of their neighbors.

One particular family didn't have any source of heat except for the gas stove in their kitchen. For days, while they huddled together around the kitchen table, the heat from the oven kept them warm.

They could cook, while some of their hapless neighbors could not. Many nearby residents brought over cans of soup to heat on their stove-top. Hospitality intensified as a bitter cold spell set in.

Sitting around that table in the glow of a single candle, the family laughed and shared stories and events that were important to each of them. They hadn't done that in months! While the television was out of order, they put their lives back into place. As a result of that storm, the family grew closer. Each one of them remembered the light from that candle for years afterwards. Sometimes we don't realize what's missing in our lives until we cease all our busyness. Spending quality family times together is important to God. But you don't  need to wait for an ice storm or some other crisis to draw your family close.

God is always faithful to show goodness in every situation. Just as the glow of the candle provided light during the storm, He lights our way through the darkest and most difficult days of our lives.

God is so good that he only awaits our desire to overwhelm us with the gift of Himself.

Paul's Prayer for Spiritual Empowering

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have blue skies, but a strong wind is blowing to bring more cold weather today. What a wild day yesterday! We had lots of rain which we needed, but not the wind. But my driveway got all the leaves blown off; now just the twigs are left from the trees, but if they dry out, they will probably blow off, too.

I drove through the park yesterday before the rains came, but it looked so threatening, I did not try to walk. I saw lots of the turtles on the weir and one anhinga sitting on top of one of the poles lining it. I really don't know how he folded his big webbed feet around the top of the pole which is not very big, but he managed. The gator was not on the other side, but I saw two of them Sunday. They were attracting lots of attention from the people taking photos.  God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

-Galatians :7-10
Don't be misled. Remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow! Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Ecclesiastes

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, I know some people are not rejoicing today, and I think of the officers' families who were shot down yesterday. May God comfort and give them peace.

As I watched the TV yesterday with all the news about what was happening, I thought of my two nephews who are in law enforcement, and how one had to draw his weapon at one time. They are in danger each day as they go to work, and yet this is the work they have chosen. I thank God for their safety and for their selfless protection of us.

I heard one speaker yesterday, and I don't think he was with the PD, but he said there was a time to heal. I immediately thought of this passage from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

From the Promise Bible NLT:

There is a time for everything,
a season for every activity under heaven,
A time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to lose.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak up.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 25

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well., the rain is pouring off the roof in front of my window, so I don't have any excuse for not working in the house today. Finishing up the cleaning up of papers, sorting through various things, and getting done what needs doing. Not much fun, but instead of reading, a good time to get things done!

What a wonderful day I had yesterday! I was at the computer too much, but kept getting dozens of birthday greetings, and then cards in the mail, and a beautiful bouquet from my men. Brian, Daryl and Matthew. Brian had planned to take me out to dinner and I had decided on Pepin's, but there was an hour and a half wait. since we did not think to make reservations, so Plan B worked. I suggested Pane Rustica in Tampa and we were seated right away, without reservations. It is an extremely noisy restaurant, but the food is excellent, from the hummus, olive oil and roasted pepper dipping sauce for the warm, crusty bread, to the gelato we had for dessert. I had Virginia fluke, a fish I had never heard of, but the attractive server said it was really good, so I ordered it. It was presented on top of mashed potatoes loaded with different veggies, including brussel sprouts, which I never eat if I don't have to. I like most all veggies except those, but they were cut in half and I couldn't even tell they were brussel sprouts. Delicious! The fish had a spicy, hot crust, which I drank lots of water with. I brought half my meal home, and will try it again for my dinner.

I did get out long enough to go to the Park, where I saw fewer people than yesterday, and had to stop to avoid a careless ibis, which ran across right in front of me! Lots of turtles and an anhinga were on the bank of the weir, but no gators on the other side at that particular time. I was a wonderful birthday and I am thankful for the phone calls I received from Daryl and two friends out of town.
God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 25:1-11
To you, O lord, I lift up my soul.
I trust in you, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.
No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced.
But disgrace comes to those who try to
deceive others.

Show me the path where I should walk,
O Lord,
Point out the right road for me to
follow.
Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.

Remember, O Lord, your unfailing love
and compassion,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth,
look instead through the eyes of your
unfailng love,
for you are merciful, O Lord.

The Lord is good and does what is right,
he shows the proper path to those who
go astray.
He leads the humble in what is right,
teaching them his way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and
 faithfulness
all those who keep his covenant and
obey his decrees....

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

God's Promises

Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I guess we had fog this morning, but it has burned off around here now, and the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day is in store for us.

I may go for a walk later on, if God does not have other plans. Yesterday, I drove into the park, which was very crowded and saw Dave C., my yard man, in his park uniform. so I pulled into a parking space and we stood and chatted for a while, and watched all the people walking on and off the boardwalk. One man wearing shorts, and that's it, and others with jackets on. It was very warm in the sun, but slightly chilly in the shade. Dave was wearing a jacket, but I wasn't and I noticed the coolness.

So, my intention was to check out the park and then go to the car wash, and then come and walk, but since it was getting late, I got the car washed and did not come back to walk. But I enjoyed  watching the class  look at a gopher tortoise while the teacher explained the creature's habits.

I am trying to overcome the bad habit of procrastination that I have, and I got one project done, and am working on another. This means trying to get rid of clutter, which will probably take another year to do. What to do with hundreds of photographs going back to when the boys were little?? The mere thought of it, makes me want to sit down and read a book. Sigh. But God is so good , I know he will prod me to keep at it! However, since today is my birthday, I may take the day off. :o)

From the little God's Promises Book:

God gives to Men (and Women)
Courage to be people of Integrity

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted  by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither:
And whatever he does shall prosper.'
The ungodly are not  so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
   Psalm 1:1-6

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
