Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Lots of sun, a slight breeze and the usual afternoon thunder showers are on the weather menu today. We had a very loud thunder and lightning storm in the late afternoon yesterday, but very little rain. I was having my supper when a loud clap of thunder really startled me!
We had a powerful sermon yesterday with a preview of the VBS puppets singing the theme song. During the service, a couple rows of chairs were added directly behind me and I did not even hear it being done!...must have been engrossed in listening.
On my way to church, yesterday morning, I saw a great blue heron by Lynch Lake trying to decide what to do with a small, wiggly turtle he held in his beak, I wish I could have stayed to watch, because the turtle was about three times wider than the skinny neck of the heron. Decisions, decisions!
Then this morning when I opened the front door to retrieve the Times, I thought I saw a squirrel, but it was Peter Cottontail. The little brown bunny was back again. He looked at me and decided I was harmless, so hopped over to a fern and started munching. So cute!
I watched the Skywire walk by Nik Wallenda last night, and nearly all the way across, he was thanking Jesus and praying about the motion of the wire and showing his faith in a very positive way. The following scripture is a reminder of how God answers prayers! God is Good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Matthew 7:7-11
Keep on asking and you will be given what you
ask for. Keep on looking and you will find. Keep on
knocking and the door will be opened. For everyone
who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the
door is opened to everyone who knocks. You parents,
if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give
them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do
you give them a snake? Of course not! If you sinful
people know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will your heavenly Father give good
gifts to those who ask him.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis
