Good Morning. Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have sunshine and pretty clouds and a good day before us!
We are getting new neighbors moving in across the street. The former resident moved out Sunday after having a For Rent sign in front of her house for a month or so. This has been a pretty stable neighborhood, at least on this end of the street, with some residents living here for about forty years or so. However, this particular house was remodeled after being sold due to a death, and, since then, it has changed hands several times. The changing flow of neighbors goes on...
Yesterday afternoon I attended memorial services for a friend, which reminded me of memories I would leave behind...some good and some bad, but I have always tried to be kind. Sometimes I speak my mind when I should be quiet and think before speaking. So, if I have hurt any feelings, I apologize now, and ask forgiveness.
There was another memorial service going on just two hours earlier; This for another old friend in a different location. And Saturday, still another! Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming , and I am reminded of my own mortality! But not for long, as I think of all that has to be done today!
As some friends picked me up for the service, I saw the brown bunny in the neighbor's yard and then, coming home, another one in a yard a couple blocks away! There must be a large flock of bunnies in the yards around here. I know one household has chickens in the side yard. Just a little bit of country in the city!
I got to the library and brought home more books, including the latest by Nicholas Sparks, one of my favorite authors. Then I went on to the park and saw some friendly ibis and lots of people enjoying a warm summer day! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Where can I find security and hope in the midst of tumult and change?
Lamentations 5:19
Lord, you remain the same forever! Your throne continues
from generation to generation.
Malachi 3:6
I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants
of Jacob are not already completely destroyed.
James 1:17
Whatever is good and perfect comes to you from God above, who
created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts
shifting shadows.
Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Both our security and our hope are rooted in God's unchanging
character. People will make promises one day but disappoint
in the next. Sin or circumstances beyond their control prevent
them from keeping their promises. God's faithfulness. and love
however, are not subject to the fluctuations of time, space, or human
mortality. We will never suffer because of God's fickle whims,
irrational mood swings or inability to handle the circumstances.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Comfort for God's People
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have lots of sunshine this morning, just like yesterday, but a rainstorm came up yesterday in the middle of the afternoon, then blew off and once more it was a nice sunset.
My Saturday did not start off too well. When I went into my bathroom, I discovered a flood. The toilet tank water flow valve was defective and the tank was overflowing. I mopped up with lots of towels and called Brian, who came, and shut off the water, then we mopped some more, but it was still leaking. I called the plumber, but he couldn't come out until afternoon, so I bailed some more. I was able to shower, finally, but could not go anywhere, until the plumber came.
While I did not like the flooding, I have to recognize that God's timing is perfect! What if this had happened in the middle of the night? The water could have seeped out into the bedroom, which would have been a huge mess! There is most always a silver lining..
Then came Sunday...I was greeted at the door by a friend and then,by many friends as I walked into the worship center. I had missed the Sunday before, because I was not feeling too well. But I heard a good sermon, enjoyed the singing, and, most of all, the fellowship!
Afterward, I bought my dinner from Boston Market, and sat down to watch the Rays and read the Times, and promptly went to sleep, sitting straight up. Brian came over later and took the dumpster down and visited awhile. We caught up with the progress of his new job, which has challenges that he is happy to meet, and also we chatted about family matters. I am happy and blessed that he is so close.
Afterwards, I took a ride into the Park , after dropping off some library books into the book drop. I did not see many people, but some families were still out that late. One anhinga was on the weir, and several ibis were pecking around. It was a good day and God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Isaiah 41:27-31
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does not see
your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear
your case? Have you never heard or understood?
Don't you know that the Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth?
He never grows faint or weary. No one can measure the
depths of his understanding. He gives power to those
who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the
weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young
men will give up. But those who wait on the Lord will
find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,
with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! More sunshine and fewer showers today means I have to water a couple plants on the front porch, since they get dry in a hurry! The humidity is back, so the heat really gets to me if I am outside for any length of time!
I busied myself in the house yesterday, changing the bed and putting the fresh sheets on. While I was doing that, I heard voices, and could not figure out where they were coming from, so I walked out toward the kitchen and realized that is was the call box of the ADT home security system that I have. I was wearing the bracelet and must have bumped the button, so the operator was frantically trying to reach me to see if I was all right! The system works! If I hadn't responded the paramedics would have come, which happened about a year ago when I accidentally pushed the button. I really felt sorry that time, thinking of the waste of time and the cost for them to come for nothing. Big sigh.
After I did another load of laundry, I decided to take a break and go to the park, where the squirrels were having a good time. The flocks of ibis were also intent on doing their pecking thing and moving slowly around the circle. It was a good day and God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 119 :1-8
Happy are people of integrity,
who follow the law of the Lord.
Happy are those who obey his decrees
and search for him with all their hearts.
They do no compromise with evil
and they walk only in his paths.
You have charged us to keep your
commandments carefully.
Oh, that my actions would consistently
reflect your principles!
Then I will not be disgraced
when I compare my life with your commands.
When I learn your righteous laws,
I will thank you by living as I should!
I will obey your principles,
Please don't give up on me!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

A Prayer of Praise
Good late Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I saw a beautiful sunrise this morning, and then got right into chores, delayed by finishing a book I was reading last night. But, I needed to strip the bed and get laundry done, so I did that, and then had breakfast.
It looks like a beautiful day in store for us, but I have indoor chores to do on this last day of July!
My cleaning crew came yesterday around 12:30. I was watching the Rays, and they were also interested, so, as they worked, they kept informed as the Rays lost. Bummer. Cheryl and Kim are so interesting...they have been together in business over 17 years, and are closer than sisters. Cheryl is single and has brothers she is close with, and Kim has a married daughter and grands and sisters she is close to, but they always do things as a family, so the two friends and business partners are always mixing together and acting as one big family! Cheryl is a caring person and always looking out for me, since she lives right across the street, as does Kim. I am blessed to have them in my life!
I drove to the park later on in the afternoon and saw a surprising number of people there, plus dog walkers. I had to hurry some ibis across the road, but they were very calm and took their time. I saw a couple of egrets in the canal, and roosting in the trees. Quite a contrast with the greenery as a background. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Jude 24
And now, all glory to God, who is able to keep
you from stumbling, and who will bring you
into his glorious presence innocent of sin and
with great joy. All glory to him, who alone is God
our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Yes,
glory, majesty, power and authority belong to him,
in the beginning, now and forevermore. Amen
I always remember you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The prediction is that the weather will reach 90 today, but the humidity is lower, so it won't be so smothering. Right now, the sun is shining, and it is already up in the eighties!
I made a trip to the library yesterday, and was interested to see a young man sitting on a bench outside under a tree, eating his lunch. He was attracting a mama duck with over a dozen fuzzy babies, all crowding around his feet and a couple squirrels were joining the crowd. Meanwhile, the luncher just kept on eating and reading, not paying any attention to the begging audience. I didn't think to snap his picture....
It was sprinkling while I drove into the library, and when I came out. But I drove on to the Park, and saw a lady with her walker, just starting her trip all the way down to the building, (I have seen her before). Then when I came out, she had turned around and was heading back, because she did not anticipate the sprinkles. She has great fortitude and persistance!
The ibis flock and the few people who were out did not seem to mind the refreshing rain, though. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
James 3:13-18
If you are wise and understand God's ways,
live a life of steady goodness so that only
good deeds will pour forth. and if you don't brag
about the good you do, then you will be truly wise!
But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish
ambition in your hearts, don't brag about being
wise. That is the worst kind of lie. For jealousy and
selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are
earthly, unspiritual, and motivated by the Devil.
For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there
you will find disorder and every kind of evil.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first
of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and \
willing to yield to others.. It is full of mercy and good
deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere. And
those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace
and reap a harvest of goodness.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Amaryllis

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had some rain last night. I could tell because the porch was wet this morning. Right now it is overcast, but I didn't think there would be any rain according to the forecast, but maybe this is our "cold front" that was predicted yesterday, Smile.
Yesterday, after I washed a load of towels, I purposed to go to Publix and get some much needed groceries. I only shop about every two weeks, so I am usually out of stuff by then. My list was not so long, but I still had a lot of bags by the time I was through. I usually take my cloth bags and insulated bag in because it saves having all those plastic ones. Anyway, it was a good time to go, because there were not many people shopping, but my goodness, when I got out of the van, it was HOT! The sun was beating down, and by the time I got home and got the groceries unloaded, I was perspiring a little!
Before I went for groceries, I had driven to Walmart for gas and was happy and surprised to see the price was 3.19 per gal. With my card, it was 3.14. Daryl says it is 3.09 in Cleveland, TN, but we never get down that low.
I have seen some unusual butterflies flitting by my window this week. Yesterday, a small black and white striped one fluttered by , but I don't know the name. And there is a gorgeous purple blossoming tree a couple houses north of me, but I don't know the name of it, either. But, God is good to put all that beauty out and my eyes for me to see!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 15:7-9 15:13
So accept each other just as Christ has accepted
you; then God will be glorified. Remember that
Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that
God is true to the promises he made to their
ancestors. And he came so the Gentiles might also give
glory to God for his mercies to them. That is what
the psalmist meant when he wrote.
"I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing praises to your name."
So I pray that God, who gives you hope,
will keep you happy and full of peace
as you believe in him. May you overflow
with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Heat, humidity, but no rain was the story yesterday, and might be the same today. It's hard to believe this is almost the end of July, which means only three months until cool weather! Yay!
I stayed home from church yesterday, because I had not slept for more than an hour for two nights, and was very tired. The reason I was awake so much, was my right foot. Occasionally, I get painful twinges every few seconds in one foot or the other, and it is impossible to sleep with that going on. So I got up and read until 4 AM one morning, and fiddled around on the computer the next night, after massaging my foot for several minutes, which did not seem to do any good. I have talked to a couple doctors about it, but they don't seem to have an explanation. Sigh. But at last, I got a good night's sleep last night and the foot is okay!
The only time I went out was to the Park for a few minutes, but saw a roseate spoonbill, and flock of ibis, pecking around the first entrance bridge. So God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 8:35-39
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have
trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or
cold or are in danger or threatened with death?( Even the
scriptures say , "For your sake we are killed every day;
we are being slaughtered like sheep.") No. despite all
these things, overwhelming victory is ours through
Christ , who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate
us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels
can't , and the demons can't. Our fears for today. our worries
about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell, can't keep
God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or
in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever
be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!
