Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It looks like more of the same weather today that we have had for the past two weeks or so, even though it is the end of June.

After the yard crew came, we had a short rain just about the same time as the one on Sunday. After the sun came out again, I took off to run a few errands, and then visited the park. Not too many people were out but it was about the middle of the day and other activities were going on.

My computer suddenly took a vacation after I had sent the blog and paid some bills online. I think I must have clicked a wrong button, because I copied the church newsletter and then nothing, After clicking every button I could think of, I finally called my computer guy and he came about supper time. Of course, it did not take him five minutes to fix whatever the problem was. He talks to himself while he is working, but in a low voice, so I have trouble understanding him, but he is good. So, whatever the problem was, it is resolved and now I can have fun deleting all the stuff that comes in every day!

I just watched two mockingbirds chasing each other in and out of the hedge, but no butterflies yet this morning,  I have another bird of paradise bloom, and the crape myrtle is outstanding with its pink blossoms! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:35-38
Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love?
Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble
or calamity, or are persecuted , or are hungry or cold or in
danger  or threatened with death? (Even the scriptures say "For
your sake we are killed every day, we are slaughtered like
sheep".) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory
is ours through Christ who loved us.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We already have clouds and sun, but if the pattern is the same as yesterday, we will have an early rain.

I missed church yesterday, because I was all ready to go, even though it was raining lightly, when all of a sudden there was a downpour!  I don't mind driving in a light rain, but not a downpour, and I could not be certain that it would have stopped by the time I reached church. So, that is my excuse. Pastor Kevin was not there, anyway, as he was still in Chicago for the annual meeting.. But I did miss seeing all my friends.

I found another box of pictures and was surprised at some of the long forgotten snapshots I discovered. Some from a trip we took in '91 to visit my Uncle Dan in AL and then on to NC and the mountains! There were also pics of our visit to Amish Country in IN and Grandpa's farm and the cemetery near it where some family members are buried. I have a couple more boxes to go through, but it takes a lot of time. My recently discovered cousin in England will be interested, also.

I indulged yesterday and bought a couple donuts at Krispy Kreme..a glazed and a cream filled chocolate. Very effectively shooting down my healthy diet, but oh, so good! I did not eat both right away. I saved one for this morning. (says she, trying to sound virtuous).
I drove over to the Park later in the day, and quite a few cars were parked, so many people were out enjoying the freshness after the rain. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:24-28
...Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom.
For if you already have something, you don't need
to hope for it. But if we look forward to something
we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't
even know what we should pray for, nor how we should
pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that
cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all
hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads
for us believers in harmony with God's own will. And we
know that God causes everything to work together for the
good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is starting out just like yesterday, except for the breeze. Everything is very still, which means the sun is really bearing down right now. But that's summertime in Florida!

We had thunder and lightning, but no rain, just the threat of it, but it was really pouring some place! However re really did not need it, but it does serve to cool the temps down a bit.

I had a quiet day yesterday, Did not do much besides read, laundry, and look at the blooms on the plants. I have another bird of paradise flower, but it is in the backyard so no one except me can see it. That is also where the crape myrtle is, and it is also in full bloom! God has made some beautiful colors for us to enjoy. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 119:1-8
Happy are people of integrity,
who follow the law of the Lord.
Happy are those who obey his decrees
and search for him with all their hearts.

They do not compromise with evil,
and they walk only in his paths.
You have charged us to keep your
commandments carefully.
Oh, that my actions would consistently
reflect your principles!
Then I will not be disgraced when I compare
my life with your commands.
When I learn your righteous laws,
I will thank you for living as I should!
I will obey your principles.
Please don't give up on me!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sunshine, humidity, breezes..just another day in Florida!

We had our rainstorm in the middle of the day, yesterday. It started just as my cleaning team came and rained pretty hard for about thirty minutes. which cooled the temp. down quite a bit. But, as usual, afterwards, when the sun came back, it was hot!

After the girls were finished, I went to CVS to pick up a Prescrip. that was ready, and then went on to the Park. Trees were still dripping and puddles were everywhere, but it looked good to see the park freshly mowed, and the canal clean. Trash from the back of the houses usually washes down into the canal in front of the weir, but it was not there this time. I saw a very large egret sitting on a rail, and the brown gopher tortoise just out of his burrow. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 20
In times of trouble, may the Lord respond to your cry.
May the God of Israel keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from his sanctuary
and strengthen you from Jerusalem.
May he remember all your gifts
and look favorably on your burnt offerings.

May he grant your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans.
May we shout for joy when we hear of your
victory, flying banners  to honor our God.
May the Lord answer all your prayers.

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed king.
He will answer him from his holy heaven
and rescue him by his great power.
Some nations boast of their armies and
weapons, but we boast in the Lord our God.
those nations will fall down and
collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm.

Give victory to our king, O Lord!
Respond to our cry for help.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Double Blessings

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have lots of sunshine and humid breezes , clouds and the promise of rain sometime today. Last night about 6:30, it suddenly turned as dark as 10:00 o'clock or so. and after a lot of rumbling and lightning, the rain came and  lasted quite a while. But that was okay, because I was watching the Rays game, which they won, and was not going anywhere.

Brian loaded up the back of the van with a couple bags of clothes I cleaned out of my closets, and I am working on another bag, so am not finished yet, with my contribution to the Salvation Army. What an accumulation of stuff!

I drove over to the Park, and all was quiet. It was quite hot, up in the nineties, but the shade from the big oak trees kept it much cooler. Not many people were out, so even though school is out, those with jobs still have to work, and a lot of families are on vacation now.

I did see a graceful egret, in the lake, and a squirrel hiding in the fork of a maple tree. God is good!

From the devotional book, Quiet Moments with God:

In your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
2 Peter 1:7 NASB

British statesman and financier Cecil Rhodes, whose fortune acquired from
diamond mining in Africa endowed the world famous Rhodes Scholarships
was known as a stickler for correct dress--but not at the expense of someone
else's feelings.

Once it was told that Rhodes invited a young man to an elegant dinner
at his home. The guest had to travel a great distance by train and arrived in town
only in time to go directly to Rhodes home in his travel stained clothes. Once
there, he was distressed to find that dinner was ready to begin and the other
guests were gathered in their finest evening clothes. But Rhodes was nowhere
to be seen . Moments later, he appeared in a shabby old blue suit. The young
man later learned that his host has been dressed in evening clothes but put on
the old suit when he heard of his guest's embarrassment.

Rabbi Samuel Holdenson captured the spirit behind Rhode's gesture, saying:
Kindness is the inability to remain at ease in the presence
of another person who is ill at ease, the inability ro remain
comfortable in the presence of another who is uncomfortable,
the inability to have peace of mind when one's neighbor is
         troubled.

The simplest act of kindness not only affects the receiver in profound ways, but .
brings blessings to the giver as well. It makes us feel good to make others feel
good. So do something nice for yourself today---commit a random act of kindness!

You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

We Reap what We Sow

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! In contrast to yesterday, we have lots of sunshine and lots of puffy white clouds, unlike Monday's gray skies and rain.

The yard crew has already come and gone, catching up on the work they could not do because of the rain. I will have to call my handy man to come do all the trim work on the shrubs. He does an excellent job and pays attention to details..

Well, after the rain, I drove over to Publix, thinking it would not be so crowded on Monday, but there were quite a few people with the same idea I had.  I got all but two items on my list, so I am now loaded with fresh veggies and fruit. Since the handicap police guy was not cruising around the parking area, shopping was a pleasure, but I was glad to get it over with!

I was noticing the crape myrtles of different colors this year, blooming beautifully all over the area! There are lavender ones at church, I have the dark pink,; there is a beautiful large white one a few blocks away...(it looks like snow on top) . They are so pretty. It must be all the rain we have had that makes them so gorgeous! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Galatians 6:1-10
Dear brothers and sisters, if another Christian
is overcome by some sin, you who are godly
should gently and humbly help that person
back on the right path. And be careful not to fall
into the same temptation yourself. Share each
others troubles and problems, and in this way
obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too
important to help someone in need, you are only
fooling yourself. Your are really a nobody.

Be sure to do what you should, for then you will
enjoy the personal satisfaction of having done your
work well, and you won't need to compare yourself
to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our
 own conduct.

Those who are taught the word of God should help
their teachers by paying them.
Don't be misled. Remember that you can't ignore God
and get away with it. You will always reap what your sow!
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires
will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But
those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting
life from the Spirit. So don't get tired of doing what is good.
Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a
harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Whenever we
have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone,
especially to our Christian brothers and sisters.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's letter

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, the Lord decided to start this day off with a loud thunderstorm and lots of rain, so I delayed my shower and using anything electric until after the heavenly fireworks moved away.

According to the weatherman, we had 31/2 to 4 inches of rain in a short time. Hopefully, there weren't too many accidents due to the wet streets and highways.I am hoping to make a trip to the Publix sometime today. I am not expecting my yard crew, since rain always delays him and messes up his schedule.

Brian invited me out to dinner Sat. night, and we visited Mama's Restaurant again. This was where he took me for Mother's day lunch. I decided on the Chicken Souvalki (sp) which was delicious, and was such a large portion, I had to bring half of it home and had it for lunch after church.

Speaking of church, I saw some dads there who don't usually come, so I guess as a favor to families, they came on Father's day. It was good to see some of whom I had not seen for a long while.

The couple times I visited the Park over the weekend, there were not many people, but plenty of squirrels and I saw a beautiful, graceful white egret standing in the midst of the canal which had lots of greenery growing in the water at the spot. It looks so typically Florida! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Philippians 4:4-9
Always be full of joy in the Lord, I say it again--
rejoice!  Let everyone see that you are considerate
in all you do. Remember the Lord is coming soon.

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you need and thank him
for all he has done. If you do this, you will experience
God's peace. which is far more wonderful than the human
mind can understand. His peace will guard your
hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus .

And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one
more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts
on what is true and honorable and right. Think about
things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about
things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep
putting into practice all you have learned from me and
heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace
will be with you.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners!  This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a lot of clouds already, but blue skies in between and it will be another hot day, until the afternoon thundershowers come.

I had a chiropractor appointment yesterday and there was a dark cloud hanging overhead as I went in, so I expected rain at any moment. Well, just as I came out to the van, the big drops started to fall, so I quickly got in. I decided to take a little ride to the park, since it is only less than a mile away, and even though, the sprinkle was getting a little more, people were still venturing out on the boardwalk. The rain does not seem to bother the squirrels or the birds, however. They were really chirping, and the squirrels were their usual scampering , climbing selves.

I took a ride to the bank, but the ATM lane was closed, so I came on home to a dry street. I hear thunder now, so we may have a morning shower, as well as afternoon. I have seen such beautiful butterflies flutter by my window the past two days...a large yellow one was followed by a yellow one with black edging on the wings. They must be going to the beauty berry bush in the backyard. Birds love it and I guess butterflies do, too.All you Dads out there, Have a Happy Father's Day! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 57:7-11
My heart is confident in you, O God,
no wonder I can sing your praises!
Wake up, my soul!
Wake up, O harp and Lyre!
I will waken the dawn with my song.
I will thank you, Lord, in front of all the people.
I will sing your song of praises among the nations.
For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.
May your glory shine over all the earth.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Teaching About Money and Possessions

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We did not get the rain predicted yesterday evening, but I could hear the thunder from far off, so someone got wet. When I stepped out to get the paper, it was already very warm, so this will be another nineties day.

The closet is nearly cleaned out of shoes, now, and I found some I don't even remember buying. Some barely worn. But only one pair that is still wearable as far as feeling comfy on my feet.Cheryl looked them over and discovered she could wear three pairs of flip-flops, which she always prefers, so I told her to take them. I was glad for her to have them.

I made a quick trip to Wendy's for a small salad, after Cheryl had called to say they were running about an hour late in cleaning, and had a little fun with the cashier. He always tries to anticipate what someone will give him in cash and likes to have the correct change waiting. I like to fool him, and he gave me a dollar change before he quickly snatched it back realizing I only needed a few cents back.

After the girls left, I went over to the Park where I saw three little flags stuck up by the gopher hole and Mr. gopher tortoise was within the flagged area,, either coming or going. I also saw an egret with long neck gracefully bent toward the water as he intently looked at his lunch in the lake. Typical Florida scenery! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 12:27-31
Look at the lilies and how they grow.
They don't work or make their clothing,
yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed
as beautifully as they are. And if God cares
so wonderfully for flowers that are here today
and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely
care for you? You have so little faith! And don't
worry about food---what to eat and drink. Don't
worry whether God will provide it for you. These
things dominate the thoughts of most people,
but your Father already knows your needs. He will give
you all you need from day to day if you make
the Kingdom of God your primary concern.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Effective prayer

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners!  This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a breezy, sunshiny warm morning, with rain expected sometime this evening. Last night a storm blew up around 7:30 with lots of thunder and lightning, but while it was close, I don't think we got a drop!

Well, I started on my closet again. I have a bag full of shoes and more to put in another bag. I think my feet are worn out from all the walking I have done in all my years, so my tootsies are particular about what I put on them. As a result, I have many pairs which I have had for years, which do not feel good any more. So, the Salvation Army will get them all.

I am still getting used to the recycling idea. I have always thought it would be a good idea, but it is work! Now I have to wash jam jars when they are empty before putting them in the recycling dumpster, and also orange juice and milk containers. I also flatten paper boxes and so forth. I am grumbling about it, but I do it.

The gecko is still in the bathroom, but he is very skinny and does not look good. And now, there is a baby one in the kitchen, and he is fast! I tried to catch him a couple times, but he races away and hides. Maybe Cheryl can get him today when she comes to clean,

I walked around to my crape myrtle tree yesterday, and it is blooming with a lot of new growth, after being cut back drastically last year. It is really pretty! And, there was a bloom on the Bird of Paradise bush in the backyard. They are lovely. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Matthew 7:7-11
Keep on asking, and you will be given what
you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will
find. Keep on knocking and the door will be
opened. For everyone who asks, receives.
Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is open
to everyone who knocks. You parents---if your
children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give
them a stone instead? Or if you ask for a fish,
do you give them a snake? Of course not! If
you sinful people know how to give good gifts
to your children, how much more will your
heavenly Father give good gifts to those who
ask him.

I always give thanks for your, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! More sunshine today, just like yesterday, but unexpectedly, as I was relaxing in the evening, I heard the rain starting, and sure enough, we had a brief shower, just about going home time for working people.I think the same thing is predicted for today.

Well, I was disappointed that the Lightning lost last night, but at least, the Rays won!
And now the sports news will have to focus on something else for a change.

Yesterday, the yard crew came and mowed, then I was expecting my mechanic to come and look at whatever was leaking in the van, and then I had a follow up doctor's app't at 2PM.
Well, even though he ran a little late, the mechanic got here and I made it to the doctor's with a couple minutes to spare, but then had to sit in the waiting room for about fifteen minutes. After I got back to the exam room, I had to wait there for over half an hour with a stack of year old magazines. I should have brought my book. Sigh.

But I know why my doctor is late. He likes to talk, and after he decided I would probably be around to make my two months follow up, and was not so sure he would still be around, we talked about the Bucs, the Rays, the Lightning...he was not shaving his beard until the game was over, even though it was itchy...I told him I was a Packers fan, and that lead to a discussion about the ownership of said football team, Then we talked about Trader Joe's and our opinion of that store. He always asks me if I still live alone and how do I get around. I told him my own two feet and my car. He is always surprised that I still drive and am not in an assisted living facility. I told him when God was ready for me to go, I would go.

After I left there, I zipped over to Wendy's for a cool chocolate Frosty and then visited the Park, saw the gopher tortoise, and an osprey nest on the way home, but first I stopped at the hearing aid place and bought some batteries and got one aid unplugged.

Then home to enjoy the rest of my Frosty! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 145:13
The Lord is faithful in all he says,
he is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing,
The Lord is righteous in everything he does.
He is filled with kindness.
The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him sincerely.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had great weather over the weekend, but a deluge on Friday, so our rain quota for this month is already way over average! It has been up in the nineties and is expected to stay hot the rest of the week. I had the A/C checked for the summer, and it is all ready to keep on doing the job it has been doing since May.

Church was all decorated for Vacation Bible School yesterday, so it is very busy today with all the children and volunteers going from class to music and outdoors to play. We saw a couple of puppet numbers during worship and they were well received. Lots of work and lots of love go into this project!

Well, our hockey team lost but the Rays won in a sweep over the White Sox, so we still have an interest in sports. I have a busy day going today, so am expecting my yard crew, my mechanic to come take a look at my leaking wheel, and then a doctor's appointment.

But I did get to the Park yesterday, and although things were quiet, I disturbed a flock of ibis, which flew up when the car approached. I am still showering with the gecko, who is getting skinnier from lack of food. One of these days, I will take a chance and try to pick him up, but he is still pretty fast. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 8
O Lord, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.

You have taught children and nursing infants
to give you praise.
They silence your enemies
who were seeking revenge.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers----
the moon and the stars you have set in place----
What are mortals that you should think of us,
mere humans that you should care for us?
For you made us only a little lower than God,
and you crowned us with glory and honor.
You put us in charge of everything you made,
giving us authority over all things---
the sheep and the cattle
and all the wild animals,
the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.

Or lord, our Lord, the majesty of your name
fills the earth!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Wings as Eagles

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is overcast, but there will be lots of sun later on, and maybe a shower or two somewhere around...maybe not in my neighborhood, but somewhere. I am really liking the cloud formations at this time of year..great towering white clouds which lead to thunderstorms, and white, puffy clouds floating around everyplace. Every now and then, while I am stopped when driving, I can see faces or objects in the clouds. I used to do that a lot when I was a kid.

I decided on the spur of the moment to go to Wendy's for a strawberry fields salad for lunch yesterday, and saw that I was not the only one, They were really busy, with the drive thru all around the building , but moving fast. I just got the small salad, but it was good.

I had another encounter with the gecko as I got into the shower this morning, He was right under the faucet, so I told him I was going to spray him to get him to move, which I did. He quickly waggled his way up the wall and over the top of the shower door. Now I don't know where he is, but he has lost a lot of weight. I probably could have caught him, but since I was not dressed, I could not have let him out the door!

So, I heard we have had 10 inches of rain already this year. God supplies most abundantly, and then we don't have any for quite a while and we think we are in a drought. Everything at the park is green and healthy looking and the canal is still high. I saw egrets pecking and ibis walking around, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Isaiah 40:27-31
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does not see
your troubles? How can you say God refuses to hear your
case? Have you never heard or understood? Don't
you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the
Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary.
No one can measure the depths of his understanding.
He gives power to those who are tired and worn out;
he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become
exhausted , and young men will give up. But those who
wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high
on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! After the deluge yesterday, the sun is shining weakly today, but although it is hot and humid, more showers are predicted for later on. The TV news was full of pix of flooded streets, and stranded cars, whose drivers foolishly drove into flooded streets, not knowing how deep the water was. Just makes extra work for tow trucks and first responders who checked out every car. This was on Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa. The bridge to Davis Island was closed and that means those residents were stranded, which is where Derek Jeter's house (mansion) is.

The weather was threatening when I drove to my doctor's appointment, but it rained when I was being examined, and had stopped long enough for me to get in the car, and start home when it started a light sprinkle again. Then after I pulled into the garage, it really came down!

The girls were here cleaning, and Kim told me about some prowlers, her husband had surprised early a couple mornings ago. Seems there were four of them on bicycles, and they were walking up every driveway just testing doors and cars. He leaves for work at 4:30 AM, and was face to face when he opened his door. The bad guys took off right away, and I think he should have called 911 to report the prowlers, but he chose not to do that. Well, I am always locked up, but will check everything just to make sure from now on.

Well, I did not see the gecko in my bathroom last night or this morning, so maybe he has moved on or expired. He was really skinny yesterday morning, and is not finding anything to eat in the shower, where he has been lurking. I feel sorry for him, but not sorry enough to try to capture him. Oh, well, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 37:26,27
It is better to be godly and have little
than to be evil and possess much.
For the strength of the wicked will be shattered,
but the Lord takes care of the godly.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love.

Jeremiah

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I am glad I am at home and not trying to get to work on the interstates. I saw on TV the burning tanker near Sun City, that had traffic completely blocked, so a lot of people will be late for work today, on this beautiful morning. ( I may have the location wrong.) Anyway, showers are predicted for sometime  and I have two trips to make; one to pick up my new eyeglasses, and the other to the doctor's office.

I have been looking forward to getting new glasses, and was told they would be ready in a week. Since it had been almost two weeks, I called and they had been ready since the 4th. I was supposed to have been called, but never got the message.Oh, well, better late than never.

I did laundry yesterday, and once again, worked on cleaning out closets. Amazing how clothes accumulate and I always think, well, if I lose a little weight, this will fit...Ain't gonna happen! So, out it goes! Also, it's time for shoes to go, too. Too many that I haven't worn for years. I think I need just a touch of OCD!

I took a drive to the park and saw squirrels scampering...they are never still, and a few cars, but mostly it was just ranger trucks for their meeting . Lots of butterflies are buzzing around the butterfly garden at the park and here at home. Yesterday, a very large yellow with black-edged wings butterfly fluttered by my window, with a smaller one right behind it. They are lovely. God is good

From the Promise Bible NLT:

 Jeremiah 29: 11
For I know the plans I have for you," says
the Lord. "They are plans for good and not
for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
In those days, when you pray, I will listen. If
you look for me in earnest, you will find me
when you seek me."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and hope.

Jeremiah

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is a carbon copy of yesterday, and will probably be the same tomorrow. Sunshine, beautiful white clouds and a slight breeze. We had no rain the past 24 hours, so that is a change, but the gutters are still holding water in some areas in the streets, and all the retention ponds are full. That is good!

I drove the van to the car wash yesterday, and when I got home I cleaned off the windows and cleaned it up a bit inside, so, right now, it looks good. Usually, the rains come, right after I wash the car. But not this time!

My yard men came yesterday and so right now, the yard looks trim, but the guy next door does not mow his yard every week and right next to mine, it looks very overgrown. He has plenty of time, but just does not like to work outside, I guess.

I cruised in to the Park on my way out to the car wash, and saw a pretty white egret in the middle of the green growth in the canal, and a cute squirrel sat up on his hind legs with the white belly showing, right in the path of my wheels, I swerved and he moved, like they most always do. Not many people were out, but it was shady and cooler and peaceful. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Jeremiah 9:23,24
This is what the Lord says, "Let not the wise man
gloat in his wisdom, or the mighty man in his might,
or the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this
alone; that they truly know me and understand that
I am the Lord who is just and righteous, whose love
is unfailing, and that I delight in these things. I, the
Lord, have spoken."

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Easin' thru Ephesians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners!  This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are starting out with lots of sunshine but later on we will probably have a shower or two.

I was admiring the towering clouds yesterday, with all different shapes, during the formation of the afternoon thunder storm. The sky was so blue and the clouds so white! I would have taken a picture, but was driving.

Well, I watched sports Saturday. The Belmont Stakes with American Pharoah making history, then the Lightning winning on their way to the Stanley Cup. And yesterday afternoon I saw the Rays win in Seattle with Chris Archer making baseball history with 10 strikeouts in three games and no walks! He's just a young guy and has a baby face.

In between times, I got all my ironing done...yay, me!, shopped at CVS and received a 10 dollar gift card for spending over $30, so I was rewarded for shopping!

We had a really good sermon preached yesterday, then I went to Boston Market for dinner, and after eating , took a good long nap..something I rarely do, but it was good.
I watched a mockingbird on top of the neighbor's flag pole, just singing his little heart out, and then a bluejay picking up something off the driveway. I threw out some peanuts for the squirrels, but I think the bluejays got them instead. Oh, well, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 5:15-20
So be careful how you love, not as fools but
as those who are wise. Make the most of every
opportunity  for doing good in these evil days.
Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand
what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk
with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead,
let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you
will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual son among
yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts.
And you will always give thanks for everything to
God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Easin' thru Ephesians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Another day with lots of sun, very warm temps and rain predicted maybe later on. Bring it on!

I had a fairly busy day yesterday and was tired by the time evening came. I was 2 1/2 hours at the salon getting my hair done, then went to the library, came home and did two loads of laundry, but I still have not emptied the dryer of towels...I was happy to sit down later on!

But I did take time to visit the Park and smile at the antics of a squirrel family playing together. There were about 4 of them, but they were moving so fast, it was hard to count them. Then, coming by Lynch Lake, on the way home, I saw a very large gray pelican sitting on a storm drain, preening himself. They are very rarely seen on a mostly fresh water lake( or maybe brackish), like Lynch. And the birds, mockers and jays, have been so noisy in the mornings. It is such a happy sound to hear the birds singing! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 3:14-

When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray
to the Father, the Creator of everything, in heaven and on earth.
I pray that from his glorious , unlimited resources he will
give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray
that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts
as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the
soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power
to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long,
how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience
the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand
it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power
 that comes from God.

Now glory be to God!  By his mighty power at  work within us
he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever
dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.
Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Lots of sunshine and the puffy clouds again today and temps are supposed to climb to near 90 again! Summer is here!

I decided to venture out to get gas in the van yesterday, and was a little dismayed to see that it has gone up again. Well, if I want to drive, I have to pay, so that's the way it goes.

So, after all the hoopla and talk and headlines, the Lightning lost. I watched the game for a while, but I don't know much about hockey, and usually can't even follow the puck, but lots of people are really into it. I was hoping the Bolts would win, but did not stay up to see them lose. So, another game coming up, and hopefully they will win this one. Since the Rays are playing at 10. PM in California, I did not even watch them. One good thing..the Lady Gators softball team won the championship again, so yay for them!

My cleaning ladies came yesterday and told me that the single lady who lived down the street had died and apparently was not discovered for a couple days. That is so sad, that she had no family to check on her.
Brian calls me every evening on his way home, and if I don't call Daryl around 7:30, he calls me every day, so they keep in pretty close touch.

As I drove around in the park, yesterday, I saw the busy squirrels, but the ibis, and egrets were at Lynch Lake and not the Park. Early morning is the time to see all the water fowl getting breakfast, but I am not over there early any more. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 15
Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?
Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?

Those who lead blameless lives,
and do what is right, speaking the truth
from sincere hearts.
Those who refuse to slander others
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends.
Those who despise persistent sinners,
and honor the faithful followers of the Lord,
and keep their promises even when it hurts.
Those who do not charge interest on the
money they lend, and who refuse to accept
bribes to testify against the innocent.
Such people will stand firm forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Time

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! After the drizzle all day yesterday, we have blue skies with white puffy clouds here and there, and it promises to be a very warm day.

I ran some errands in spite of the rain and did a bank run, and then decided to go to the park to see if there was any activity in the sprinkle. I only counted seven cars, and some of them belonged to the rangers and the teacher, but no animal activity or humans walking. It was peaceful and fairly quiet, and very green from all the rain we have had. So I came home, did a few chores and read , instead of doing my ironing, which is still waiting.

But I did see activity around Lynch Lake...a gorgeous roseate spoonbill was perched on the side of the bank, not doing much, except looking beautiful. My favorite color! And a few ducks and ibis, were not far away. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, 14,15
There is a time for everything;
a season for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to rebuild.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to lose.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak up.
A time to love and a time to hate....

And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added
to it or taken from it. God's purpose in this is that people
should fear him. Whatever exists today and whatever will
exist in the future has already existed in the past. For God
calls each event back in its turn.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! No sunshine yet today, instead there is rain dripping off the roof. The sky was overcast when I had my breakfast, but now, I see the rain falling. But that's okay because it keeps the temp. down.

I ran some errands yesterday, including grocery shopping. It was one of those times when shopping at Publix was not a pleasure. Before I even got in the store, a handicap police guy stopped and told me something, I had to go to his suv to hear what he said. I had put the sunscreen up in the windshield and he said he could not see the handicap hangar. So I told him it was there and pulled it out and showed him. I hung it back and he circled around and stopped in front this time. and said he could not see it. So I had to unlock the car and stick it down the front of the shield to satisfy him. Sheesh!! It did nothing for my mood!

So I went on to do my shopping and discovered that they are changing groceries around. I had my list with me and got what was on the list, except for one item, which was not in its usual place. I saw a lady with a Publix pin on her shirt and asked her, so she went on a hunt and found the item way back on the side where I had already been. Well, at least I got my exercise, by walking the whole store back and forth. I was glad to get home, only to find the city had come by and left the big blue recycle dumpster on the driveway. It is very cumbersome, and I had a difficult time dragging it back to where the regular dumpster is. I don't even think they will start picking up until July and then I will have to figure out how to get it down to the curb.Oh, well, life is full of challenges!

I saw egrets and a wood stork at Lynch Lake as I drove by. They were in the shade, so maybe birds get hot, too. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight
by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ
our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has
brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now
stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to
sharing God's glory.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials,
for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn
to endure. And endurance develops strength of character
in us and character strengthens our  confident expectation
of salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us.
For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has
given us the Holy Spirit  to fill  our hearts with his love.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I was noticing the contrast between the blue of the sky and the whiteness of the towering clouds yesterday. So beautiful! And today looks like more of the same. We had a short thunderstorm Saturday night, which left a broken branch in front of the garage door. I did not notice it, as I backed out to go to church and it caught under the car. I got out to see what the dragging noise was, and had to pull and pull to get it out, hoping I was not damaging anything. So far, everything seems to be all right.

I had received an invitation to a party Sunday afternoon, celebrating the promotion of my dear friend, David, so drove a few blocks to his house and had a good time eating and talking and just listening. I am sort of a wallflower when it comes to crowds. I like to listen and watch other people, rather than trying to converse in a loud crowd and have difficulty hearing. My good friend, Gil, and I exchanged thoughts and he helped me when I needed it. In fact, I have so many people looking out for me, I am totally blessed. After dark, last night, my neighbor across the street, called to tell me my porch light was not on. I had forgotten again! So, there is another friend and helper!

The birds were so loud this morning, I thought one was in the house. He must have perched right outside the window while I was having breakfast, and just sang as loud as he could! Such a happy sound! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 100
Shout with joy to the Lord, O Earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Love and hugs,
 Amaryllis
