Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Last night I couldn't get to sleep because of the flashes of lightning and distant sound of thunder, and this morning the sky is still overcast. We got a little rain because the porch was a little puddly, but the streets were dry already. Maybe we will get some more today, as we could use it.
Well, romance is in the air! I did not get up at 4, but a couple hours later. However, I saw most of the royal wedding and the royal couple looked very happy. Being practical, I think when do they get to use the bathroom? But, I am sure all that is taken care of. :o) It brought back memories of my own wedding...much different, with no pomp or circumstance, no singing, and just family attending in a Baptist church . My sister was my maid of honor and a good friend was Louis' best man. But our marriage lasted 62 years, and as others, we had lost a child, but had two wonderful sons, and it lasted through sickness and health. I was married to a very affectionate, loving man who was a good father. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
1 Thessalonians 5:12-26
Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord's work. They work hard among you and warn you against all that is wrong. Think highly of them and give them your wholehearted love because of their work. And remember to live peaceably with each other.
Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.
See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to everyone else.
Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Keep away from every kind of evil.
Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God, who calls you, if faithful; he will do this.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Don't Get Tired of Doing the Right Thing
Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, our weather has been much different than the weather yesterday going through the south. I was watching the weather channel most of last night, because Daryl had called and said he had seen two tornadoes in Cleveland, Tn and another was on the way. I watched videos of the huge one in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa and people are still digging out, with many deaths. I thank God that my family in Tenn. was spared and have prayed for the ones who were not.
We will be having storms tonight, so the prediction goes, but sometimes the weather man does not get it right. We could use the rain, but not the bad weather! Hopefully, the weather stays good for the last flight of the Endeavor.. But God is still good!
From the little devotional book Knowing God:
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 NIV
The world you live in has a way of testing your faith, your courage, and your intentions. If you intend to follow God (and if you follow through on those intentions) you'll be rewarded...richly rewarded. But if you give in at the first sign of temptation, you're headed for trouble, and fast.
Whose steps will you follow today? Will you honor God as you strive to follow His Son? Or will you join the lockstep legion that seeks to discover happiness and fulfillment through worldly means? If you are righteous and wise, you will follow Christ. You will follow Him today and every day. You will seek to walk in His footsteps without reservation or doubt. When you do so, you will be "right with God" precisely because you are walking with His only begotten Son.
-Great Thoughts-
"In the fulfillment of your duties, let our intentions be so pure that you reject from your actions any other motive than the glory of God and the salvation of souls.

Psoaring thru Psalm 34
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The wind is blowing, but we don't have the storms that are going through Tenn. and up through the east coast, so I am happy about that. Just sunshine and blue skies here.
I had a long afternoon yesterday spent at the doctor's office for a routine check up. But, God is so good to always send someone my way to help pass the time. A couple from the past who we were good friends with, were there, and the man talked with me for half and hour catching up on past events in our lives. That's about the third time old friends and I have caught up in the waiting room, which has turned out to be God's waiting room.
When I finally was able to get to the park, I found few people there, but someone had a fire going in the bar-b-que and it smelled so good! It looked like a family was living in their van, because the back end was open and it was stacked with baskets of clothing and all kinds of things. No telling what their story was, but at least, they had something to eat.
I saw two little heads sticking up out of the osprey nest at Sawgrass Elem. waiting for mom or dad to bring home some food, so they are still nesting atop light poles and the tall platforms that are erected for them. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
I will boast only in the Lord;
let all who are discouraged take heart.
Come, let us tell of the Lord's greatness;
Let us exalt his name together.
I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me,
freeing me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
I cried out to the Lord in my suffering and he heard me.
He set me free from all my fears.
For the angel of the Lord guards all who fear him.
And he rescues them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
Let the Lord's people show him reverence,
for those who honor him will have all they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,
but those who trust in the Lord will
never lack any good thing...
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wise words from Ecclesiastes
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, we missed another chance last night...the thunder was booming all around, just like Sunday night, but we did not get a drop. Just a few miles from here that area got four inches. Sigh. I am sure our turn will come soon. But, at least, we can enjoy the sunshine and breezes for a beautiful day!
I saw a few people at the park yesterday, looking over the bridge at the anhinga drying his wings, while perched on the dead stump. Several people walking dogs, some with two to walk, You get lots of exercise when you are a dog owner! I saw the inert body of a squirrel lying in a driveway as I drove by. I don't know if someone threw it there, or if it got hit by a car, and crawled there to die. Anyway, I was sad to see it. I know we have lots of squirrels in the neighborhood, but I still don't like to see them hurt. Louis used to set in his chair outside and they would crawl up his pant leg and sit on his lap to get peanuts. He really enjoyed that! I think the ones we have now in the trees are a different family, because they are not so friendly. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT;
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, 5:19-20
Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone fan be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back to back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life-that is indeed a gift from God. People who do this rarely look with sorrow on the past, for God has given them reasons for joy.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

John 3:16
Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Yesterday was a wonderful day celebrating the risen Lord! It was so good to see all the friends and people at church, many of them new to me, but the church had a good crowd at second service, and, I hope, at first service, too. Brian reported that his church had to move their Sat. night service into the sanctuary from the gym because it has outgrown the gym. They had three services on Sunday, and all were full, so hundreds of people heard the Easter message and how Christ died for them! Hallelujah!
Brian took me to a restaurant for Easter dinner, and we were seated right away! I was really surprised! After dinner we went to the cemetery to put an Easter lily on Louis' grave. There were hundreds of flowers of all colors placed on the stones, so it was very colorful, the wind was blowing, but the sun was very hot, so I used an umbrella for shade and was comfortable. After that, it was later in the afternoon and we were both tired, so he went home after dropping me off, so I read and rested the rest of the day.
I just saw a butterfly fluttering around the hedge outside my window, and it reminded me of the last time I walked in the park. I was coming down the sidewalk and hundreds of small, blue dragonflies were hovering just above the walk. I was not afraid I would step on one, because they moved very swiftly in front of me. It was so cool! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
John 3:16-21
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
There is no judgment awaiting those who trust Him. But those who do not trust Him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God. Their judgment is based on this fact. The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished. But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants."
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Good Friday
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! This is another beautiful day leading up to Easter Sunday, which will also be a beautiful day because of the meaning of that day. O Happy Day!
Yesterday was a quiet day for me, spent doing some chores around the house. There is always something to do, which I don't usually get done because of reading. When I did go out, I noticed the baby osprey in the nest on top of the field light pole at Sawgrass Elem. It looks almost big enough to leave the nest, now. Also, the birds have really been noisy. Seems like a lot of them are chirping and singing. they love the weather, too! God is good!
Last evening I attended a very moving Maundy Thursday service at church, which was very solemn with scripture reading and a message and then communion. We saw a video depicting Christ's crucifixion which brought me to tears because of the thought that Christ suffered agonies because of my sins! But then came Sunday!!
Luke 22:14 -24 NLT:
Then at the proper time Jesus and the twelve apostles sat down together at the table. Jesus said, "I have looked forward to this hour with deep longing, anxious to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. For I tell you now that I won't eat it again unitl it comes to fulfillment in the Kingdom of God."
Then he took a cup of wine, and when he had given thanks for it, he said, "Take this and share it among yourselves. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come."
Then he took a loaf of bread; and when he had thanked God for it, he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, "This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." After supper he took another cup of wine and said, "This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you--an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you."
But here at this table, sitting among us as a friend, is the man who will betray me. For I, the Son of Man, must die since it is part of God's plan. But how terrible it will be for my betrayer!" Then the disciples began to ask each other which of them would ever do such a thing...
We will hear the rest of the story Sunday at church. What a glorious morning that will be!!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 139
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It's Maundy Thursday and the sky is blue with just a few light, puffy clouds scudding across the sky..looks like another beautiful day.
I had an interesting day yesterday, with some surprises in it. You just never know what God has planned for you each day, so it's kind of fun to see what happens. When I went to Publix, I was surprised to see a very old friend from St. James's days, so we chatted a bit and caught up on our families. and I saw another old friend, but not to speak to. Then, later on, A cousin called me from California. I had not heard from him since probably we were both pre-teens! Now, that's a long time!! He found me on Facebook, so that social network can do some good after all!
After that, my friends, and neighbor ladies came to clean the house, so I caught them up on my Not So Great Adventure #4. They are always interested in what goes on with me. One of them, Cheryl, looks after me and almost called me at 11 night before last to tell me my porch light was not on. I had forgotten to turn it on. She always warns me to lock my doors and wear my home companion button. I am blessed to have people looking out for me!! God is good!
I had asked God to direct me in the scripture for today, and when I opened my Bible it fell open to the one I had decided on;
Psalm 139:1-6, 23-24 NLT
O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my every thought when far away.
You chart the path ahead of me
and tell me where to stop and rest.Every moment you know where I am.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You both precede and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to know!
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path
of everlasting life.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Encouragement
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners, This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is Wednesday and Then Came Sunday!! What a wonderful day that will be!
We have much the same weather we had yesterday, so no surprises there. Windy and warm. Sunshine and beautiful. I know there is another stormy front going across the country, including Tenn, today, so I have prayed for safety for my family there.
Yesterday morning, I was feeling not so good..I think because of the busy day Monday. I tried to do too much. But I started feeling better in the afternoon, so I went to the park and enjoyed watching the squirrels scampering. I noticed on my walk the other day, that the squirrels are now so used to people feeding them, they expect it. One of them stopped right in front of me, sitting with its little paws folded and looking so cute, but I never bring anything for them, because it's bad for them to be fed unnatural stuff. And, it's against the rules of the park.
But I also went shopping, so you know I was feeling better, :o) God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
What do I do when I feel overwhelmed?
Colossians 1:11-14 We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God's holy people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the one who rules in the kingdom of darkness, and he has brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son. God has purchased our Freedom with his blood and has forgiven all our sins.
Our encouragement comes from what God has done for us. He has given us the power to be patient and persistent and to keep our minds set on the great hope that awaits us. When we remember that we are already free, the problems of this world lose much of their power over us.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Don't condemn others
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are having a long string of beautiful days and it will continue right on through Easter. I remember when my boys were little how we would have Easter egg hunts for them in the yard, and how much fun they would have looking for the eggs. I still have their baskets! Now that's a long time ago, since they are both in their fifties now. Hard for me to accept that! :o)
And then, on May first, we would make little baskets out of colored paper, and put flowers and maybe a little treat or cookie in the basket and leave it on the doorstep of the single older lady who lived next door. She was a crafty lady and made a lot of things for the boys. Those were the days when it was easy to know your neighbors and be trustful of them. Sigh. Speaking of May first, I was almost elected May Queen at Woodlawn Elem. one year,, but came down with the chickenpox and had to let the title go to someone else. We actually had a Maypole with ribbons fastened to the top, and would dance in and out until the ribbons were all wound around the pole! Good memories and good fun!
Yesterday was a busy day...we finished up the Stephen Ministry training, then I went shopping to CVS and Publix, came home to eat lunch, collapsed a bit, and then got ready for our Faith Group last night. I did stop in at the Park, and saw a large great blue heron stoically staring down into the muddy waters, hopeful for a snack to come swimming by. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Luke 7:37-41
Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven. If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure to you , pressed down, shaken together to make room for more and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you."
Then Jesus gave the following illustration: "What good is it for one blind person to lead another? the first one will fall into a ditch and pull the other down also. A student is not greater than the teacher. But the student who works hard will become like the teacher.
And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying, "Friend, Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye, when you can't see past the log in your own eye?" Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye, the perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye."
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Sigh. A Prayer of Protection
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! What wonderful weather we are having. Cool air, bright sunshine...who could ask for more? We are blessed! I am so sorry for all the people affected by the tornadoes in NC. Such devastation! I pray they will be able to get their lives back together!
I saw some unusual sights yesterday. Right outside my window, a lady cardinal landed in the podocarpus hedge and started attacking the leaves on the branches. She was furiously pecking and pulling them off and doing it so hard that she tipped over, climbed back up and then moved to another twig, still frowning, and attacked that one, too. This time she fell down to the branch below, climbed back up once again and pulled until the leaves were flying. I don't what the bush did to offend her, but she was sure getting revenge on it! It was funny!
Then, last night, I went outside and watched for the international space station, and sure enough, I saw it come up out of the southwestern sky and move swiftly overhead until it was very bright and went out of my field of vision behind some trees. It was truly awesome. I had seen it once before when it went over, but it was hard to see and very small compared to this time. Then, I saw behind me the moon coming up. A very full moon just rising over the trees! God is good!
This prayer is from the Sacred Assembly our church had some years ago. I still pray this for myself each morning:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We honor You as our Lord. We acknowledge that You are always present with us. You are the only all powerful and only wise God. You are kind and loving in all Your ways. We love you and we thank you that we are united with Jesus and spiritually alive in Him.
We thank you for the life that we have in Christ, and we ask You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit that we may live our lives free from sin. You are the Vine and we are the branches, apart from You we can do nothing. We take our stand against Satan and command all his evil spirits to depart from us. We ask these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,

The Message Psalm 23
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have a little more wind this morning, but the sky in clear and the puffy clouds are no where in sight. Looks like another beautiful day!
The yard got all cleaned up yesterday, and Dave fertilized it. I went to the local nursery, instead of Walmart and bought the fertilizer and found out later that I paid twice as much. If the locals want to have more business, they should be a little more competitive in price. I realize they cannot buy in bulk like the big stores can, but still....lesson learned.
Last evening, after supper, I went over to the park for a short walk, because it was such beautiful weather. I saw lots of ripples in the water along the canal and watched for a few minutes, and decided it was turtles. There were lots of small turtles swimming around under the surface, both at the bridge and in the middle of the canal. Unusual. I also saw two immature ibis pecking along the road on the way in. A few people were enjoying the evening coolness, as I passed them. God is good!
From The Message
God!, my shepherd!
I don't need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.
Even when the way goes through,
Death Valley,
I'm not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd's crook
makes me feel secure.
You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
my cup brims with blessing.
Your beauty and love chase after me
Every day of my life,
I'm back home in the house of God
for the rest of my life.
As we approach Palm Sunday, I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Love
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It's a little cooler this morning, or at least, the humidity is lower, so it feels great! The grass is growing, now, so it looks like summer is here. Dave, my yard man and friend will be coming tomorrow to take care of the grass and do some trimming and then it will look neater.
My beauty berry bush, planted by the birds, is flourishing and very green, so the purple berries should be showing up soon. It's good that hardly anyone hangs out clothes any more, because the berries are very purple and stain everything!
My friends, Jim and Karin, took me to lunch at the Taco Bus, yesterday. First time I had been there and it was fun. A very unique place. The cooking is actually done in the bus, but there are lots of places to eat, both outside and in. I really appreciated my fish tacos, which were very good. Thank you, Karin and Jim.
I also had an appointment with my doctor as a follow up to the episode Saturday. The nurse and doctor had amusing reactions to the story of the fainting on the motorcycle... The nurse stopped typing, and said she had to know more, so I told her how God had planned for everything to happen as it did, and when I told her about Kevin being a paramedic and on the scene, she said "thank God!' I don't know if she is a believer or not, but she , at least, knew who to thank. She also said it wouldn't have happened if I had been on a Harley! :o) But since I am off the med. that caused the problem, I am feeling back to normal. Praise God!
I took a trip to the park late yesterday afternoon, and everything was quiet and peaceful. A couple of ibis, one immature and dark feathered, were pecking peacefully along the bank of the weir and a few people were walking their dogs along the sidewalk, but not many people were there. It is still a very peaceful place. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT: Dedicated to my friends and family:
1 Corinthians 13:4-13
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear. Now we know only a little, and even the gift of prophecy reveals little! But when the end comes, these special gifts will all disappear.
It's like this: When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now.
There are three things that will endure--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Amaryllis

Getting to Know Him
Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! A few puffy clouds and winds are forecasting the coming of a "cool" front tonight or tomorrow, I think, which will be welcome if it dries out the air. yesterday was very humid and sunshiny, but that's what we expect in our part of the world!
I went to the park yesterday for a brief time in between meetings...Mondays are always busy for me... and saw one brave turtle hanging on to the bank of the weir. I say "brave" because there is still a lot of trash all around there which was floated down from in back of the houses and no volunteers have picked it up yet. One of the workers was spraying on the other side, so maybe the huge clumps of hydrilla will be sprayed soon. They are really thick around the bridge. But there is still a lot of beauty there with the white egrets against the gray muddy banks and the great blue herons which are almost invisible against the mud.
BTW, have you noticed the beauty of the jacarandas lately? I thought maybe most were frozen by the low temps this past winter, but they are in full bloom all over and just lovely! God is good!
From the little devotional book Knowing God:
Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.
Jonah 2:8-9 NLT
How much time do you spend getting to know God? A lot? A little? Almost none? The answer to this question will determine, to a surprising extent, the state of your spiritual health. And make no mistake; the more time and energy you invest with God, the better you'll come to know him.
Are you making time each day to praise God and to study His Word? If so, you know firsthand the blessings that He offers those who worship Him consistently and sincerely. But, if you have unintentionally allowed the hustle and bustle of your busy day to come between you and your Creator, then you must slow down, take a deep breath, and rearrange your priorities. Now.
-Great Thoughts-
You're busy with all the pressures of the world around you, but in that busyness you're missing the most important element of all-God's ongoing presence that is available to you.
- Today's Prayer-
Dear Lord, give me the wisdom to seek You, the patience to wait for You, the insight to hear You, and the courage to obey You, this day and forever. Amen.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 145
Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Looks like this will be another beautiful, warm day in paradise, with birds singing, and squirrels zipping up and down the trees; all seems right with the world. At least this little part of the world. Other places on the planet, not so good.
We had a really moving sermon yesterday, especially the last part. I am happy for a pastor who preaches the Word, and also lives it! I have a story of my own to tell of God's faithfulness and protection:
The Not-So- Great Adventure #4
Saturday I was ready for my motorcycle ride to Burger King, where David was to meet up with a couple hundred bikers for a rally around Leesburg. We took off from my house at 7:30 and he said he had to go to his house to work on the Gold Wing. So he told me to go take a look at the project he had been working on, which was the paver deck he had put in around his pool and also, the pergola he had built. I had the helmet on, which was feeling very heavy, and walked on back to where he was still working on the bike and started feeling very hot, and not so good. So he helped me get the helmet off, and I sat on the bike...still don't know how I got on it... told him I was hot, ran my hand over my forehead, which was wet, and that's the last I remember, until I opened my eyes and saw Kevin's face right in front of mine. He was telling me to smile, then hold out my arms, which I did. Kevin is a paramedic trainee, which was all part of God's plan.
I had been to my cardiologist a few days before, and he had put me on a new BP medication, which I obviously had a bad reaction to.
The amazing thing is...I could have been on the road and passed out, which would have been disastrous. As it was, David had called 911 and they came in just a few minutes, and transported me to St. Anthony's ER. David rode with me, and sat with me until Brian came. So I spent 6 not so happy hours in the ER, most of it just waiting for lab reports and discharge papers. Diagnosis was that it was the medication and everything else is fine or normal for me.
This whole episode was an example of God's perfect timing and His care for us! God is Good!
Psalm 145:13-18
The Lord is faithful in all he says;
He is gracious in all he does."
The Lord helps the fallen and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help;
you give them their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.
The Lord is righteous in everything he does;
he is filled with kindness.
The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him sincerely,...
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalm 63
Good morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Blue skies, slight wind and rising temps, make for a glorious morning! I actually turned the A/C on yesterday because the house was stuffy and warm. Actually, I have had it on for almost a month, off and on. Seems like we had a short, cold winter and now we are in for a long and very warm summer. But that's Florida, and St. Pete is my home town, so I should be used to it.
I remember when schools had no A/C and most stores did not either. We used to go to the Florida Theater downtown and see a double feature, a cliff hanger, previews, and a newsreel, all for a dime. And the films were never rated, because they were all suitable for families. Ah, those were the days! My sister, brother and I were coming out of the La Plaza Theater on the Sunday afternoon when WW2 was declared because Japan had bombed Hawaii. Don't remember the movie, but remember the day!
Well. enough of living in the past..Yesterday I saw an amusing sight at the Park. A beautiful egret came in for a landing beside the first bridge and missed the log, splashing into the water. He hastily flapped back up onto the log, and I could almost see his beak turning pink with embarrassment because he had an audience on the bridge! There were not many people there for such a pretty day, but it was probably crowded later on. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 63
O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary,
and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself,
how I praise you!
I will honor you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
You satisfy me more than the richest of foods.
I will praise you with songs of joy.
I lie awake thinking of you,
meditating on you through the night,
I think how much you have helped me;
I sing for joy in the shadow of your protecting wings.
I follow close behind you;
your strong right hand holds me securely.
But those plotting to destroy me will come to ruin,
They will go down into the depths of the earth.
They will die by the sword and become the food of jackals,
But the king will rejoice in God.
All who trust in him will praise him,
while liars will be silenced.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

They will die by the sword and become the food of jackals,
But the king will rejoice in God.
All who trust in him will praise him,
while liars will be silenced.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Beatitudes
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Even though it is hazy this morning, it is a bit cool, but definitely higher humidity than yesterday. Puffy white clouds and a light breeze are making for a delightful day.
Yesterday, I was determined to take a walk, and enjoy the coolness of the air, while I could, so I walked along the sidewalk at the park, and noticed the water has gone down already. I could see the bottom through the murky water, which did not stop a large turtle from swimming along. I think all turtles are vegetarians, but the soft shelled ones must eat the greenery growing under water and on top, like hydrilla. Whatever they eat, it really agrees with them, because they grow so big!
I also stopped and watched a very large great blue heron wade and slowly move along, keeping his head down. The water was pouring out of the pipe leading from Arrow Lake to the canal, so perhaps he was looking for a fish to come shooting out. I didn't see any ibis, and that is very unusual. The usual turtle was sunning on a dead log, and an anhinga came along and perched beside it. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Luke 6:20
Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said,
God blesses you who are poor,
for the Kingdom of God is given to you.
God blesses you who are hungry now,
for you will be satisfied.
God blesses you who weep now,
for the time will come when you will laugh with joy.
God blesses you who are hated and excluded
and mocked and cursed
because you are identified with me, the Son of Man.
When this happens, rejoice! Yes, leap for joy, for a great reward awaits you in heaven. And, remember, the ancient prophets were also treated that way by your ancestors....
Love for Enemies
But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on the cheek, turn the other cheek. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. Give what you have to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back. Do to others as you would like them to do for you.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Double Blessings
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, it is a little cooler for a change. The rain we had yesterday brought in a cold front just as predicted. Maybe this will be the last for awhile, but the dry air is very welcome.
After spending a couple hours studying, I stretched and decided to go to Publix to pick up some needed groceries yesterday. I looked for the osprey nest high on the pole there and sure enough, saw two little heads pop up, so the rain and wind did not topple the osprey nest. Praise the Lord! Even though the nests look like a mass of twigs and stuff, they must be knit together pretty sturdily. Afterwards, I went on to the park and saw more trash piled up against the weir, and a lone anhinga standing in the middle of it. Not many people were out, because it was still very overcast and threatening. But it is good that we had the rain, and soon the temps will pop back up to nearly ninety! God is good!
From Quiet Moments with God devotional:
IN your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.
2 Peter 1-7 NASB
British statesman and financier Cecil Rhodes, whose fortune acquired from diamond mining in Africa endowed the world famous Rhdes Scholarships, was know as a stickler for correct dress-but not at the expense of someone else's feelings.
Once it was told that Rhodes invited a young man to an elegant dinner at his home. The guest had to travel a great distance by train and arrived in town only in time to go directly to Rhodes home in his travel-stained clothes. Once there, he was distressed to find that dinner was ready to begin and the other guests were gathered in the finest evening clothes. But Rhodes was nowhere to be seen. Moments later, he appeared in a shabby old blue suit. The young man later learned that his host had been dressed in evening clothes , but put on the old suit when he heard of his guest's enbarrassnent.
Rabbi Samuel Holdenson captured the spirit behind Rhodes's gesture, saying: Kindness is the inability to remain at ease in the presence of another person who is ill at ease, the inability to remain comfortable in the presence of another who is uncomfortable, the inability to have peace of mind when one's neighbor is troubled.
The simplest act of kindness not only affects the receiver in profound ways, but brings blessings to the giver as well. It makes us feel good to make others feel good. So do something nice for yourself today--commit a random act of kindness!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Happy Birthday, Daryl!

Psoaring thru Psalm 66
Good morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I waited until the storm passed to write this, because I don't like to be on the PC when wind, thunder and lightning are flashing about. God was good to me again and this was not as bad as last Thursday's storm. The front yard does not look bad at all, compared to all the twigs and trash that was on it last week. Water is still pouring off the roof and it is still very overcast, with the sound of thunder in the distance, but for the most part, the storm is over! Bless the Lord!
The water should be up in the park again, which had not gone down, yet from the deluge last week, so I don't know if the work on the lake has been delayed or not, but the ibis, herons, and gators like the rain! Yesterday, I saw a large soft-shell turtle hanging onto the bags of the weir and an anhinga drying the wings, in the midst of all the trash that washed up and over. Well, the saying is; April showers bring May flowers. We already have flowers, some bloomed out already, but more will be coming.
I had a sad thing happen yesterday on my way to church for my training session. A squirrel dashed across the road right under the car, and the wheel hit it. I have had them dash in front of the car many times, but not under. I had no chance to avoid it and I felt so badly about it. Our lesson for the day was about suicide, so that may have been what the squirrel had in mind. (just kidding.)
Anyway, God is still Good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name!
Tell the world how glorious he is.
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds!
Your enemies cringe before your mighty power.
Everything on earth will worship you;
They will sing your praises,
shouting your name in glorious songs."
Come and see what our God has done,'
What awesome miracles he does for his people!
He made a dry path through the Red Sea."
and his people went across on foot .
Come, let us rejoice in what he is.
For by his great power he rules forever.
He watches every movement of the nations;
Let no rebel rise in defiance.
Let the whole world bless our God
and sing aloud his praises.
Our lives are in his hands,
and he keeps our feet from stumbling.
You have tested us, O God,
You have purified us like silver melted in a crucible.
You captured us in your net
and laid the burden of slavery on our backs.
You sent troops to ride across our broken bodies.
We went through fire and flood.
But you brought us to a place of great abundance....
I always thank God for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Put Faith Above Feelings
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! What a contrast between todays weather and yesterdays. Today the sun is shining brilliantly, although water is still dripping off the roof and trees and the wind has died down, so it looks like the peace after the storm.
I watched two squirrels chasing each other around and around the trees, leaping from branch to branch and even flying through the air to the neighboring hedge! They are fearless! I have often wondered where the small critters go during a storm like we had yesterday. But the birds are flying, so they must take shelter some place. I will check on the ospreys that I see nesting high on poles in the neighborhood, because they are really vulnerable to all kinds of weather. But God is good to take care of all his creation!
From the little devotional book, Knowing God:
Put Faith Above Feelings
Now the just shall live by faith.
Hebrews 10:38 NKJV
Hebrews 10:38 teaches that we should live by faith. Yet sometimes, despite our best intentions, negative feelings can rob us of the peace and abundance that would otherwise be ours through Christ. When anger or anxiety separates us from the spiritual blessings that God has in store, we must rethink our priorities and renew our faith. And we must place faith above feelings. Human emotions are highly variable, decidedly unpredictable, and often unreliable. Our emotions are like the weather, only far more fickle. So we must learn to live by faith, not by the ups and downs of our own emotional roller coasters.
Sometime during this day, you will probably be gripped by a strong negative emotion. Distrust it. Reign it in.Test it. And turn it over to God. Your emotions will inevitably change; God will not. So trust him completely as you watch your feelings slowly evaporate into thin air-which, of course, they will.
-Great Thoughts-
I do not need to feel good or be ecstatic in order to be in the center of God's will.
-Bill Bright-
-Today's Prayer=
Heavenly Father, You are my strength and my refuge, As I journey through this day, I will encounter events that cause me emotional distress. Lord, when I am troubled, let me turn to You. Keep me steady, Lord, and in those difficult moments, renew a right spirit inside my heart. Amen.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
