Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Seems like there is not a whole lot of change in the weather reports. We continue to have hot, steamy days and not too much cooler at night. I saw a large area of rain hanging off shore in the Gulf, but I am not sure if it will move east to us or not. We will just have to wait and see!
I had my A/C checked just for maintenance yesterday, and the cleaning ladies came at the same time. My filter does not get dusty and can go for 2 or 3 months without needing changed or cleaned. The wiry, little man who worked on it, said everything was fine with the unit, so that is good news.
My yard crew has already been here and gone this morning. It only takes them about five minutes to mow, edge and blow, and then on to the next job. I don't know how many customers he has but it must be a lot to be able to pay his two helpers!
Well, the two ripest mangoes must have fallen from the tree next door, because I can't see them any more. There are still a couple within my view, but further from my property. I can't see through the hedge to see if the fallen fruit is close to me or not, so, hopefully, the neighbor picks them up before the fruit rats get them!. I still have a couple in the fridge that my friendly cleaning ladies gave me last week and they are sweet and juicy! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
James 1:19-
My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen,
slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Your anger
can never make things right in God's sight.
So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and
humbly accept the message God has planted in your
hearts, for it is strong enough to save your souls.
And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to
listen to. If you don't obey, you are just fooling yourself.
For if you just listen and don't obey , it is like looking
at your face in a mirror, but doing nothing to improve
your appearance. You see yourself, walk away, and
forget what you look like. But if you keep looking
steadily into God's perfect law---the law that sets you
free---and if you do what it says and don't forget what
you heard , then God will bless you for doing it.
If you claim to be religious, but don't control your tongue,
you are just fooling yourself, and your religion is
worthless. Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God
our Father means that we must care for the orphans
and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world
corrupt us.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Hot is the prediction and yesterday was dry, so it will be extra hot.
I had to go outside on the porch to retrieve the paper this morning, and it was already steamy at 8 AM. Well, this is August already, so I will probably be noticing the chilly air in a couple months.
I was able to do some things around the house yesterday, before I returned a couple books to the book drop at the Library. They were new 14 day books and I had a week left, but thought since I was through with them, I might as well return them.. One was by JoAnn Fluke who writes simple mysteries and includes cookie recipes, which look to be very tasty.
After I left the library, I rode on to the park and enjoyed the greenery and the water. There were few people in the middle of the day, but it was nice to see children and others enjoying themselves. On the way back, I saw the white duck at Lynch Lake Park along with several ibis and it looked like a wood stork. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 34: 8-10
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
Let the Lord's people show him
reverence,
for those who honor him will have all
they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go
hungry, but those who trust in the Lord
will never go hungry.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving , joy and Love!

The Futility of Wealth
Good August First Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Soon the kids will be back in school and perhaps the weather will show promise of cooling just a bit.We have another sunshiny, hot day with perhaps a shower or two, as usual.
There was no rain yesterday as I drove to church and it looked like a pretty good crowd, although I know a few families are still on vacation. Pastor Kevin preached another in his series on Ecclesiastes with a little humor and he really gets the point across.
I have been using my walker for several months now, but people still come up to me very surprised to see me with it! Guess because it is a 3 wheeler, it is not so noticeable. Sometimes it is awkward having to use it, because it limits my ability to serve myself when food is involved; for instance at the wedding I attended yesterday afternoon, I skipped the refreshments, because I couldn't let go of the handgrips to hold a plate. But that did not take away the enjoyment I had at seeing two people so obviously in love get married and start a new life together.
They had a volcano cake that the groom had made (he is a cake decorator at Publix). It kept erupting and was very colorful! So cool!
Well I drove through Sawgrass Park after church and saw a few cars there, with people walking around and ibis and an egret fishing alertly for their dinner in the canal. Then I went home to lunch and to watch the Rays sweep the Yankees! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Ecclesiastes 5:18
Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good
It is good for people to eat well, drink a good glass
of wine, and enjoy their work---whatever they do under
the sun---for however long God lets them live And it is
a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good
health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your
lot in life---that is indeed a gift from God. People who do
that rarely look with sorrow on the past, for God has
given them reasons for joy.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

A Benediction
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have the same weather forecast as the previous days, except thunderstorms are popping up unexpectedly here and there and then going away. And the temp in the gulf water is 90 degrees! Not so refreshing!
I made up my mind to get to Publix yesterday, so, off I went and found a parking space, while a very tired looking lady came to her truck with a cart, unloaded her bags and left the cart in easy walking distance for me to take. That was a blessing! It was so hot that I was happy to get in the store. I had my list and got everything on it, without many extras, so was soon ready to check out. They had some wonderful looking peaches and nectarines, and Washington cherries, so I bagged up some of each. They are expensive, but I think I'm worth it!
I usually choose the cashier by the line, but also, who is bagging and I saw a new big bear looking guy, probably in his early sixties at work at one cashier, so started unloading my stuff, along with my cloth bags and insulated cooler bag full of fridge things when he came and started unloading everything from the front which I really appreciated. Anyway, he let me push the cart out, which gives me better balance and then told me everything he was doing , and giving me advice about how to get them unloaded and in the house. He also told me to get in the car and start it up, so he could make sure it would start and then to make sure I had my A/C on. He was actually very solitcitous. Publix; where shopping is a pleasure!
So, after all that, I was ready to sit and rest a few minutes, but God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Jude 24-25
And now, all glory to God, who is able
to keep you from stumbling, and who will
bring you into his glorious presence
innocent of sin and with great joy. All glory
to him, who alone is God our Savior, through
Jesus Christ, our Lord. Yes, glory, majesty,
power, and authority belong to him, in the
beginning, now and forevermore. Amen
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Still Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The weather forecast is for a "sticky and hot" day, since the temp is supposed to reach the nineties again today. Yesterday, just about dark, we had a thunderstorm which was very noisy for about thirty minutes, so everything was still wet this morning. Thank you, God, for air conditioning!
Well, the food poisoning, or whatever it was, seems to finally be cleared up. It kept me in for a couple days, since I was afraid to venture very far from home. I don't know what caused it, but I don't want a recurrence!
I was mentioning my hope that the mango next door, would drop on my property and when I told my cleaning ladies that yesterday, they offered me mangos that one of their customers gave them, so I now have three of the ripe fruit in my fridge! Kim also brought over a big slice of the Publix chocolate cake that her sister bought for her. Since my innards seem to be settled, I will certainly enjoy the "fruits of their labors". (Sorry)
And speaking of Publix, I think more companies are copying their vignette commercials. I especially like the Bright House commercial about the fireman and his daughter, which is so sweet. Usually I mute commercials, but not those.
I took a trip to the library after the girls left, and parked in a handicapped space under a large oak tree. A homeless man was dozing on a bench there in the heat and a woman in a wheelchair from the nursing home across the street was also moving around. Apparently they had been feeding ducks and crows and a few seagulls, for when I came out with my books, I had a splattered windshield. I was not happy about it, but wiped the worst off with a couple tissues and washed the rest off with the washer fluid. After that I did a couple more errands and then headed for home. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 12:12-15
Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be
patient in trouble and always be prayerful.
When God's children are in need, be the one
to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting
guests home for dinner, or, if they need lodging,
for the night.
If people persecute you because you are a Christian,
don't curse them; pray that God will bless them.
When others are happy, be happy with them. If they
are sad, share their sorrow. Live in harmony with
each other. Don't try to act important, but enjoy the
company of other people. And don't think you know it all!
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in
such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.
Do your part to live in peace with everyone as much as possible.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Last night I heard a brief shower falling about 10 PM but then it stopped and everything was dry this morning, So, we have lots of sun and it is very warm already, with temps supposed to be in the nineties today.
I did not go out yesterday, due to my upset innards, but I finished up Nicholas Sparks latest novel, and did laundry and a few other chores. I was expecting my yard crew to come, but they came this morning, instead. I spoke to Jim, and he said he was tweaking his schedule, so he will be here Tues. or Wed. from now on. Business must be good, because he has two helpers!
I can see two ripe mangos from my bedroom window. Trouble is, they are on the neighbor's tree. I keep hoping the wind will blow them this way so they will land in my yard. I like mangos! I remember as a kid always having mango trees accessible in the neighborhood and being warned not to get the sap on us or eat green ones because they are poison. I don't know if that was the truth or not, but I was never poisoned, because I followed the admonition!
So, God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 12:1,2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead
with you to give your bodies to God. Let them
be a living and holy sacrifice---the kind he will
accept. When you think of what he has done for
you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the
behavior and customs of this world, but let
God transform you into a new person by changing
the way you think. Then you will know what God
wants you to do, and you will know how good
and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

God's Mercy for Everyone
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had rain sometime during the night; I could tell because of the puddles on the porch and everything looked wet on the driveways. So it looks like the same thing today. Lots of sun, humidity, and maybe some rain.
I am late this morning, but glad to be feeling all right. About 1:30 this morning, I had to race out of bed to the bathroom, with upset innards. I finally got back in bed, only to get up again and again. I was finally able to get a couple hours sleep and feel pretty good right now, but still have a few problems. I will probably get very drowsy after lunch.
Well, I got some banking done yesterday, and learned the changeover from my bank to the new one , due to the merger, has gone smoothly so far. Except for misinformation from the employees who seemed to be as confused as I, actually, all has gone well. As long as procedures keep going well, I will be very pleased.
After taking care of business, I drove on to the Park and saw a flock of ibis, and an egret. Speaking of egrets, there is one at Boston Market who is always looking in the door, hoping for a handout. If people are sitting at a table beside the door, he will stand and look at them. I don't think I would be comfortable eating knowing he was staring at me! But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 11:33-36
Oh, what a wonderful God we have!
How great are his riches and wisdom
and knowledge! How impossible it is
for us to understand his decisions and
his methods! For who can know what
the Lord is thinking? Who knows enough
to be his counselor? And who could ever
give him enough that he would have to pay
it back? For everything comes from him; every
thing exists by his power and is intended for
his glory. To him be glory for evermore. Amen
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
