Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It is good to see the brilliant sun and lower humidity today. Not too much in the way of showers, but the gutters are still full of water from the short deluge yesterday!

I was able to get out to drop off some books at the library  and then on to the park. The fire station is right across the street from the library, and I waited while a fire truck came out, and turned on his lights and siren to make his way through the light and traffic. They do a great job!

It was pretty quiet in the park, but lots of ibis were enjoying the grubs and whatever it is they eat the is under the grass. I did not see any squirrels, though, which is very unusual.Coming home I had to slow down to let part of a large flock of ibis cross the street to get to Lynch Lake. There was an anhinga, and the usual ducks enjoying being together, along with a few seagulls. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 1:15-18
Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord
Jesus and your love for Christians everywhere, I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you spiritual wisdom
and understanding , so that you might grow in your knowledge
of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light
so that you can understand the wonderful future he has
promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a
rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people...

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Water is still dripping off the roof, but the sun is shining and blue sky is showing between the white, fluffy clouds, so it looks like we won't have the rain we had yesterday.

I did not go out at all  even though I had gotten up earlier than usual. But I did laundry, gave Jim, the yard man, his check. and then waited for Sam, the carpet man to come. It was sort of a dreary day to have carpets cleaned, but I have the A/C on and thought that the ceiling fans would help to dry them.

Sam came about 1 PM and worked for over an hour. We had a good time talking, and I found out a lot about him and his family.( His daughter inherited his dimples.) I must say, I am so pleased with his results! The carpet looks great and I would heartily recommend him to anyone!

As I said, I did not go out, because after Sam left, it had started to rain, so I thought it best tp stay home. I stayed up until midnight watching the Packers win, so this morning I slept in a little later than usual. Go Packers! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

 Psalm 138:3,6,8
When I pray, you answer me. You encourage
me by giving me the strength I need.
Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble,
but he keeps his distance from the proud.

The Lord will work out his plans for my life--
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.

I always give thanks for you. remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Looks like more rain coming soon and the clouds covered the moon last night, so I did not get to see the bloodmoon. However, since I saw several photos taken here and even as far as CA, many other people saw it. It is a little too risky for me to go out in the dark to look at it, anyway. I am always careful not risk falling.

Speaking of falling; it is getting to be challenging to get into church. People don't realize that those with canes and walkers need room to walk around, so they stand in groups to talk. Yesterday, I got bumped by a woman I did not know and almost went over. She did not know I was coming up behind her. Oh, well, I just have to be more careful.

Well, my yard crew just came and finished. They are trying to get done before the rains come. It is a race for them.

I was treated to a lovely brunch Saturday, by Brian. We went to Carmel's in Tampa, where all the food is fresh...orange juice squeezed right then..eggs snatched from the hen hours before you eat them..etc, It was delicious and I enjoyed getting out and over to Tampa. I don't get over there very much any more.

I enjoyed seeing the white duck at Lynch lake as I was on my way to church yesterday, and the large flock of ibis; plus, a wood stork was back, fishing for lunch. I had not seen one of them for several weeks. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 37:1-9

Don't worry about the wicked.
Don't worry about those who do wrong.
For like grass, they soon fade away.
Like springtime flowers, they soon wither.

Trust in the Lord and do good,
then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Delight in the Lord and he will give you your
heart's desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him and he will help you.
He will make your innocence as clear as the
dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine
in the noon day sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait
patiently for him to act.
Don't worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.

Stop your anger!
Turn from your rage!
Do not envy others---
it only leads to harm.
For the wicked will be destroyed,
but those who trust in the Lord will possess
the land.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

2 Corinthians

Good Morning, Dear friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The forecast calls for a thunderstorm sometime today, but right now we have sun, breezes and clouds, and very warm temps. We have a Supermoon coming up with a lunar eclipse, so lose a little sleep to stay up and watch.

After all the activity of the past few days, yesterday I just stripped the bed and washed sheets, and then took a ride in the park. I saw an egret looking so elegant against the green of all the shrubbery, and on the drive home Wed. I watched an osprey dive into Turner's Creek with a huge splash for a snack. I saw one sitting on a line around Lynch Lake yesterday.  I know some of the babies have left the nests scattered all around this neighborhood.

I went to Taco Bell for my supper of tacos and was very disappointed by the service at the drive-thru. Since they have a $500 offer for your opinion I logged on to their website and took the quiz about the service. It was such a contrast compared with the CFA cheerful and appreciative service. No greeting, dirty window, and no thank you. I asked the server if she had had a bad day and she said no, but I told her she did not seem happy. She did not smile or respond...just told me to have a great day...The manager needs training in training employees. Oh, well, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

2 Corinthians 4:1618
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies
are dying, our spirits are being renewed every
day. For our present troubles are quite small
and won't last very long, yet they produce for us
an immeasurably great glory that will last forever.
So we don't look at the troubles we can see right
now; rather, we look forward to what we have not
yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over,
but the joys to come will last forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Hope

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I am very late today because I was listening to the Pope's speech to Congress. While I am not Catholic, I still have great respect for him and what he stands for, for the most part.

We have a high overcast and I saw the sun shine for just a little while, so as long as the humidity is lower, I don't mind the clouds. It makes it just a little cooler.

After my cleaning ladies left yesterday, I went to Audibel to pick up my hearing aid which had been repaired, expecting to pay a whopping fee for it. Well, Keith, my audiologist, surprised me with the news that it would be way lower than I had been told. Yay! I had an amazing Monday and a wonderful Wednesday! God is good!

And even though she is not on the internet, I have to mention that my dear friend, Phyllis Bryant is celebrating her 100th birthday today! I don't know where I would be without her faithful prayers for me and my family over the years! What a blessing!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Lamentations 3:22-26
The unfailing love of the Lord never ends!
By his mercies we have been kept from
complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each day.  I say to myself
" the Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will
trust in him."
The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait
for him and seek him.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners!  This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Today is the first day of fall. Can you feel it? I can't either. But I know it is coming close, because I have mentioned before that the acorns and leaves are falling and butterflies are more plentiful. Even the Google logo is cute today in case you haven't seen it.

Well, yesterday was not as amazing for me as Monday, mainly, because I had to go cross town to my dentist's appointment. I do not enjoy going to the dentist because of the cramping in my jaw from holding my mouth open for so long. I can endure the scraping off of tartar, the poking and probing of my gums, trying not to gag over the xrays, and the grinding of the cleaning, but my jaw starts to tremble and cramp before long, so I have to stop and bite down hard to stop the cramps.  However, I have very healthy teeth and gums, so it was worth it to hear that.

I decided to come home a different way, so drove down to 5th Ave. and had to go over one lane because of an accident. I have no idea what caused the crash, but about three cars were involved in a left turn lane, with no traffic light. Several first responders trucks were there and more were coming. It pays to be vigilant!

My cleaning ladies are coming this afternoon, and I received a call that my hearing aid is ready to be picked up, so I will be busy today, But I did take time to notice the ibis and egrets around Lynch Lake Park. So Florida! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 12:6-13
God has given each of us the ability to do certain
things well. So if God has given you the ability
to prophecy, speak out when you have faith that
God is speaking through you. If your gift is that of
serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher,
do a good job of teaching. If your gift is to encourage
others, do it! If you have money, share it generously.
If God has given you leadership ability, take the
responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for
showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Don't just pretend that you love others, really love them.
Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love
each other with genuine affection, and take delight in
in honoring each other. Never be lazy in your work, but
serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble,
and always be prayerful. When God's children are in need,
be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting
guests home for dinner, or, if they need lodging , for the night.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I can tell the seasons are slowly changing, because the leaves and acorns are falling more and the breeze was just a little cooler even though the temp. was about ninety. The water temp. in the Gulf is still right at 80, so people who like to play in the water are not likely to get chilled.

Well, I had an amazing Monday!  As I was on the PC, the doorbell rang, and it was Ray, saying he and Tim were going to be in the backyard  working on the broken fence. So, after measuring, they went off to get what they needed, and I finished up the blog, while the yard crew came and did their job.

Ray and Tim worked for about 3 or 4 hours in the heat, and got the new section and gate up. It looks so good! I haven't received a bill, yet. for the fencing, and the hauling off of the old broken pieces. Somehow, I don't think I will...

Then I went to CVS to pick up a scrip. and stood in line behind a man wearing a Tee advertising Dan's Designer Carpet Cleaning. Since I had been looking for a carpet cleaner because my old one retired, I asked his back if he was local. He turned around and said he was, it is his business and he does the work. So, he wrote down his phone number and I looked him up on the web..turns out he is on Angie's list. So, I will give him a call and ask for an estimate. Did I forget to mention his delightful dimples?

So, after that encounter, I came home to see a large padded envelope sticking out of the mailbox. It was from my niece in Louisiana and contained two of her paintings that I had admired on FB. She says she does not have any talent, but her use of color is beautiful and I was happy to get the art work! Totally unexpected! God was full of surprises for me!

Coming home, I saw a roseate spoonbill in Turner's creek which was at low tide, and a couple of anhingas and flocks of ibis around Lynch Lake Park.God was and is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 37:3,9
Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live  safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give
you your heart's desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him and he will help you.
He will make your innocence as clear as the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like
the noonday sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don't worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their evil schemes.

Stop your anger!
Turn from your rage!
Do not envy others---
it only leads to harm.
For the wicked will be destroyed,
but those who trust in the Lord will
possess the land.

Joggin' thru James

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sunny and humid again, but beautiful..that's the way we like it!

I just had to leave for a few minutes to talk with Ray and Tim from church, who are going to fix the fence this morning. My yard men are due so with the fence fixers and yard men, it will be crowded for a few minutes. I am so happy for my church family, who take such good care of me!  But the yard guys only take about five minutes, so they won't be a problem.

Saturday, after I left the hair salon, I decided to pull into CFA to get some lunch. Well, I was last car in the drive thru lane and was just able to get in off 4th St. As we slowly pulled around to the menu board, I saw that one of the managers hadaid two employees taking orders from the cars. Another employee was taking payment from the cars, and logging them in on a portable computer under a canopy. So, all the drivers had to do was pick up the food as they got to the window, where another manager was happily handing it out! It was a model of efficiency, and good training in being very polite! No wonder Chick-fil-A is so popular!

We had a powerful church sermon yesterday in the series the pastor has been teaching. A smaller crowd at the second service, but a large one at the first. I have had just one hearing aid for over a week, because the other one had to go the factory for repairs, but Pastor Kevin has a clear, loud voice and I have no problem in hearing him...and other people as well. I introduced myself to a young man who had taken the last seat on the row in front of mine, and when I looked at his face, realized he was older than I had at first thought. I thought he was a teen-ager, but realized he must be in his late twenties or early thirties. Anyway, I learned his name and the fact that he had been coming for three Sundays. He was so soft spoken, I could barely hear him. Afterward, I saw him with his phone in his hand and asked if he needed a ride, which he declined, saying he had someone coming for him. I had never done that before...just felt compelled.

Well, I noticed lots of butterflies flitting about, and yesterday, I swept lots of acorns and leaves off the porch, so fall is definitely on the way. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

James 1:2-8
Dear Brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way
let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested,
your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when
your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character
and ready for anything.

If you need wisdom---if you want to know what God wants you to
do---ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your
asking . But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect
him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of
the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that
should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. They
can't make up their minds. They waver back and forth in
everything they do.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving,
joy and love!

Wisdom from Proverbs

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have had sunshine already, and white, puffy clouds are now making shade. The temperature has cooled down some. In fact, I turned the A/C up and wore socks last night while sitting and reading and watching the Rays lose again.  Of course, what is cool to me, is definitely not to any other member of my family!

I have a good fairy in the neighborhood. I noticed this morning that my gate, which had fallen in toward my yard, because the post had rotted off, is now propped up by the post and in position again. The men from church who had said they would fix it, have not done this, yet. I don't know who propped it up...the men who unrolled the cable the other day, or perhaps Rick, my handyman who was here last Friday.. However, I am grateful!

Yesterday, I visited Walgreen's to look for the Sports Illustrated mag. with Aaron Rodgers on the cover, but they did not have it, so I bought what I needed and left. Today I will try the Winn Dixie and see if they have it. I am a Packers fan!

After that I drove on to the park and saw an anhinga with outstretched wings and a couple ibis.  Also, a loving couple seated on a picnic table. All kinds of sights in the Park! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

 Proverbs 10:6, 16:3, 9, 22:1
We all have happy memories of the godly,
but the name of a wicked person rots away.

The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall
flat on their knees

Commit your work to the Lord and then
your plans will succeed.

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our
steps.

Choose a good reputation over great riches, for
being held in high esteem is better than having
silver or gold.

i always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy
and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Yesterday was a day without sunshine and today looks like it is following the pattern. It has already rained lightly and water is still dripping off the roof, with more likely. But the good news is; it will probably clear up by the weekend. And the other good news is that gas prices are still going down. More stations are below 2dollars a gallon! Yay!

My ladies came to clean and told me what a good time they had on their "girl's weekend off". The weather was good, they played games and just enjoyed themselves as they tubed down Blue Run.

After having difficulty with the dosage description on one of my meds, the pharmacy and the doctor finally got together and I was able to pick up the scrip yesterday. After that I drove on to the park and saw an egret and once again, the big, brown gopher tortoise was wandering around. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come
and the mountains tremble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam,
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

A river brings joy to the city of our God,
the sacred home of the Most High.
God himself lives in that city. It cannot be destroyed.
God will protect it at the break of day.
The nations are in an uproar,
and kingdoms crumble!
God thunders and the earth melts!

The Lord Almighty is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.

Come, see the glorious works of the Lord.
See how he brings destruction upon the world
and causes wars to end throughout the earth.
He breaks the bow and snaps the spear in two;
he burns the shields with fire.

Be silent, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the  world."

The Lord Almighty is here among us,
the God of Israel is our fortress.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are overcast with a promise of rain today and the next couple days. We had just a sprinkle yesterday and it only lasted for a few minutes. So, we take whatever God sends!

There was a lot of activity in my street all day yesterday. My cleaning neighbor and her husband have been having a fence installed, so that meant a flatbed truck with all the fencing equipment and pieces parked in front of my house one day, then their house yesterday. But the super's truck was parked in front of my house and then in front of his truck, a giant spool with cable wrapped around it. was parked just beyond the driveway, effectively blocking the access to my recycle dumpster. I saw the guys walking through my side yard, and spoke to them about what they were doing. It was very hot and they were drenched, but still very nice. When Cheryl came home after she and Kim were through with their cleaning jobs, she noticed the situation with the recycle bins and moved them out into the middle of the street. She is so thoughtful...then when the dumpster was cleared, she brought it back up for me. What a friend!

I did make it over to the library and checked out some more books. This time there were "aisle blockers" ..a mother with a large stroller looking over the movies, totally blocking one aisle and on the computer side, another person sitting on the floor, blocking that aisle. It makes it difficult for a person with balance problems and a cane to get through with care taken not to fall. But, I managed.

I also had quite a few phone calls in a short period of time. A very unusual day! But it always soothes me to go to the park, and I saw an egret stretching its long neck, looking out into the canal, and one of the large, brown gopher tortoises attracting attention and getting photographed. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Romans 8:28-30
And we know that God causes everything to
work together for the good of those who love
God and are called according to his purpose
for them. For God knew his people in advance
and he chose them to become like his Son, so
that his Son would be the firstborn with many
brothers and sisters. And having chosen them.
he called them to come to him. And he gave them
right standing with himself, and he promised them
his glory.

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sun, a breeze and lower humidity! Ahh, what a beautiful morning! Yesterday started out the same, but grew very hot as the day got longer. We probably won't have cool weather until about late October, according to the meteorologists. Oh, well, that's St. Petersburg!

I watched Dancing With the Stars last night. The name should be changed, because I had not heard of over half of the contestants. However, I looked up the 15 year old, Hayes Grier, and discovered that he is the brother of Will, who is one of the Gators quarterbacks! I don't know why Hayes was selected to be one of the "stars", but I don't keep up with the tweets and so forth of the younger set.

I hope Paula Deen is voted off. She talks too much and can't dance. I kept switching over to the Rays which was not too interesting with the no hitter going for seven innings, and than they fell apart. They can forget the play-offs.

I did some shopping at Winn-Dixie to get some items I was out of, and since I hardly ever go in there, I was surprised to find some things that Publix does not carry. Since that store was remodeled inside, it is much nicer shopping. They also have helpful employees! Twice I was asked if I needed help finding something which I did.

Prior to shopping at WD, I had gone to the Park, and saw an egret with his head poking above the bank at the weir, and the mowing crew was busy on both sided of the road, so the smell of fresh grass was in the air, which usually makes me sneeze. Further on, I saw the big, brown gopher tortoise, munching on his lunch. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 119:1-9
Happy are people of integrity
who follow the law of the Lord.
Happy are those who obey his decrees
and search for him with all their hearts.
They do not compromise with evil and
they walk only in his paths.
You have charged us to keep your command-
ments carefully.
Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect
your principles!
Then I will not be disgraced when I compare
my life with your commands.
When I learn of your righteous laws
I will thank you by living as I should.
I will obey your principles.
Please don't give up on me!

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

2 Corinthians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  It is good to see the sunshine and know that the chance of showers is low today. Once again, I was prevented from attending church because of the rain yesterday. Pastor Kevin is preaching an excellent series on "Love Illuminated".

I did not go out until later in the afternoon after watching the Packers win! Go Packers! Then I returned a book to the drop box at the library, and saw Sonnie and Christa walking toward me on the other side of the street, looking like newlyweds, instead of the parents of five children, two almost adults! Well, I guess Sam is an adult. Anyway, I waved at them and continued on as the light changed and drove on to the park. I saw only one egret beside the canal, which was full from the morning rain, but coming by Lynch Lake, I saw a flock of ibis, an anhinga with wings outspread, an egret and once again the all white duck. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

2 Corinthians 3:1-6
Are we beginning again to tell you how good we are?
Some people need to bring letters of recommendation
with them or ask you to write letters of recommendation
for them. But the only letter of recommendation we need
is you yourselves! Your lives are a letter written in our hearts.
and everyone can read it and recognize our good  work
among you. Clearly, you are a letter from Christ prepared
by us. It is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit
of the living God. It is carved not on stone, but on human
hearts.
We are confident of all this, because of our great trust in
God through Christ. It is not that we think that we can do
anything of lasting value by ourselves. Our only power and
success come from God. He is the one who has enabled us
to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of
written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in
the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Strength

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!

I put the flag out this morning as my small way of remembering what happened 14 years ago today. I know exactly where I was and what I was doing at that time and watching for hours the horrible scenes from New York, Pennsylvania and Wash. DC. I also saw some of the ceremonies this morning on TV. I will never forget!

My handy man was due at 9:30 but called to ask if it would be ok if he didn't come until noon, since he had some equipment he had to drop off for repairs. That is perfectly all right with me, because it us just yard work that needs to be done. He always does a good job, no matter what it is!

I saw flocks of ibis and ducks at Lynch Lake, as I drove to the library to pick up a book I had ordered. I still watch for the roseate spoonbills to come back, because they seem unaware how pretty they are in their pinkness! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah continued, "Go and celebrate with a feast
of choice foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food
with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred
day before our Lord. Don't be dejected and sad, for the
joy of the Lord is your strength,"
Strength starts in the heart, long before it is exerted in other
aspects of life. the joy of the Lord gives us strength to obey,
to endure, and to triumph in all circumstances.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Prayer

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Sunshine, clouds, pretty sunrises and gorgeous sunsets, and a shower here and there! Who could ask for anything more? And we may feel a touch of fall this weekend...we will wait and see.

I took the van to Walmart yesterday to gas up and was pleased to see that gas is now below 2.00 a gal. It suits me if it stays that way for a long time! With my card, I get another 5 cents off. Sweet!

Well, I noticed that my fence is now sagging toward my yard, since the post has totally collapsed. I have not heard from my friend from church, whose group was planning to fix it, so I will have to get in touch with him and see if they are still planning, or do I have to call a fence company. It is good to have friends volunteer, but I know they are all busy, so getting free time for them is the problem.

I saw the large brown gopher tortoise munching on some weeds at the park yesterday, but did not see any other wildlife. There are always ducks and ibis and seagulls around Lynch Lake, and lately I have seen what looks like a white swan, but since there is no long, graceful neck, I think it must be a rare white duck. Anyway, God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 3:14-21
When I think of the wisdom and scope of
God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the
Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and
on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited
resources he will give you mighty inner strength
through his Holy Spirit. and I pray that Christ will
be more and more at home in your hearts as you
trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the
soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the
power to understand, as all God's people should,
how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his
love really is, May you experience the love of Christ
though it is so great you will never fully understand it.
Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and
power that comes from God.
Now Glory be to God! By his mighty power at work
within us, he is able to accomplish more than we would
ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the
church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through
endless ages. Amen

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Shepherd's Psalm

Good Morning, Dear  Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! So far, we have sunshine and humidity, but, of course, showers are called for at some point during the day. However, this could be spotty... rain at one house and none across the street. That's the way it goes locally.

One of my recently found second or third cousins, posted photos of a reunion they had which took place at Lake Tahoe in Nev. I remember being there when I was 14 and it was beautiful and pristine. Now, it appears to have a lot of lodges and other buildings, and the lake is very low from the drought they have had in that area. But still, the setting is gorgeous with the mountains surrounding the lake, I remember going in for a swim and the water was icy! That was the year we also visited the Grand Canyon. What memories!

Well, I have a hearing aid in for repairs. It has to be sent back to the factory and the repair is pricey. I have no idea why hearing aids are so expensive. Even with computer technology inside them, still regular computers are not that unreasonable. Sigh. It's just like a car, I guess. All repairs are expensive.

I had to make a trip to the CVS yesterday, and did not find a cart, so I went inside and stood waiting. The manager happened to come by at that moment so I asked him for a cart, and he went and rescued one from the parking lot and said he would have to get his truck and do a condo run. to pick up what the people across the street carry off..This is a constant problem for them. I also noticed a big puddle of water in their parking lot, and the retention pond between them and Steak and Shake was overflowing. It had rained shortly before I went shopping after my podiatrist visit and that was the result. We are wet!

As I was in the Park recently, I saw the two brown gopher tortoises having a face to face conversation or maybe it was a stand off. Anyway, they were about three feet apart and looking at each other. It was funny. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd;
I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
head leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.

Even when I walk
through the dark valley of death,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.

You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You welcome me as a guest,
anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and uinfailing love
will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Colossians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! After a rainy Labor Day, I woke up to a sunshiny day after, but now rain is dripping off the roof. So, according to the weather report these showers will not last a long time, but just move on, more or less all day.

Due to the rain I did not go any place yesterday, but did some chores around the house and watched the Rays lose again in the afternoon. I think they can forget being in the play-offs.

Meanwhile, Brian arrived safely from his weekend trip to TN to be with Daryl and Matthew. Even though he came down with a cold just before he left, he still had a good time riding and sight seeing in the mountains. They went into NC for a ways, also, and the weather was really nice for them.

Matthew started his new job today. He is working and learning with a mechanic, which is what he thinks he wants to make his career at this point. I hope he succeeds because that seems to be a good field to get into.

I watched the squirrels zooming up and down the oak trees after the yard men left, and yes, they found a window during which the rain stopped for awhile, and took advantage of it to try to catch up with the lawns they needed to do. This was about noon, so God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Colossians 3:22-25
Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do , as
though you were working for the Lord, rather than
for people. Remember that the Lord will give you
an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you
are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you
will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For
God has no favorites who can get away with evil.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Easin' thru Ephesians

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Well, this is a good start weather wise to the Labor Day weekend. Not much rain is predicted around here, but I don't know about the other parts of the country.

Brian has already left to spend the weekend with Daryl and Matthew. His plane should be arriving right about now. Unfortunately, he was coming down with a cold, and since he has looked forward to this "get-a-way" for a while, I hope he feels good enough to enjoy. So, that leaves me on my own, but my men will be in touch by text and calls.

I ran a few errands yesterday, after doing laundry, and on my way around Lynch Lake, I saw a large flock of ibis, an egret, and several ducks. That is a busy lake!

The egret reminds me of the one that hangs out at Boston Market. Sunday when I went there, he was hanging right outside the window where a couple were having their lunch. I don't know if I would be comfortable eating with those accusing eyes on me! :o) He is pretty smart, because he usually hangs out at the door, but he knew where the food was! God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Ephesians 5:15-20
So be careful how you love, not as fools but as
those who are wise. Make the most of every
opportunity for doing good in these evil days.
Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to understand
what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk
with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead,
let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you
will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
among yourselves, making music to the Lord in
your hearts. And you will always give thanks for
everything to God the Father in the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy
and love!

Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Puffy clouds and blue skies greet us today and we had no rain yesterday, so things should be drying up soon.

My cleaning friends came yesterday, full of excitement about their upcoming trip to Rainbow River. They are taking off next Wednesday for a girl's weekend in a lodge they have rented.18 of them will be playing games, eating, and floating down the river on inner tubes. It sounds like a lot of fun! They warned me, because they will skip my house cleaning since Wed. is my day. I told them I would try not to be too messy, and they said for me not to throw any wild parties!

I did not stay up long enough to watch the Rays lose last night, but got to bed earlier than I have been, and had a good night's sleep. I hope they do better against the Yankees starting Friday...

My hanging basket on the front porch is growing so fast That I keep trimming it, but I noticed that once more the vines are hanging down to the floor again. I think it likes all the rain we have been having. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 145:8-16
The Lord is kind and merciful,
slow to get angry, full of unfailing love.
The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
All your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will bless you.
They will talk together about the glory of your kingdom;
they will celebrate examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds and about
the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule generation after generation.

The Lord is faithful in all he says.
He is gracious in all he does.
The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts up those bent beneath their loads.
All eyes look to you for help; you give them
their food as they need it.
When you open your hand,
you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Lopin' thru Luke

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We are starting out bright and sunny, with very little chance of rain today. What a change! Of course, the gutters around here are running with water, still, because we had rain yesterday, the day before, etc. But  I remember when we had no rain for a long time last summer, so I should not complain. Of course, in Pasco County, some areas are still flooded and the water does not seem to be draining off. We could use a little respite.

I took a trip to the Library just after school was out, and it was quiet and not very crowded. There was one small child who screamed a couple times, but otherwise, all was peaceful. Even the librarians were visiting with each other; something they don't get to do very often.

After I checked out, I took a trip to Steak and Shake and got a strawberry milkshake for half price. Then I drove on to the Park and saw a anhinga with just his head sticking up out of some bushes and a lone ibis pecking in the freshly mowed grass. Not many cars were parked, so it was a quiet time.

I enjoyed half of my shake before supper and finished it off afterwards. I saw a sparrow and what looked like a robin on the line coming home. I'm not sure about the robin, because this is not the time for them to be down here. I don't usually see them until Jan. or Feb. The mockers and bluejays are not flying in and out of the hedge as much, so I think all of the seeds must be gone. But God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Luke 12:27-32
Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't
work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all  his
glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if
God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here
today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you?
You have so little faith! And don't worry about food--what
to eat and drink. Don't worry whether God will provide
it for you. These things dominate the thoughts of most
people, but your Father already knows your needs. He will
give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom
of God your primary concern.
So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great
happiness to give you the Kingdom.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,

Psoaring thru Psalms

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! And a happy Sept. first to all!  Hard to believe fall is close because the temp. is supposed to go up to 90. Right now the sun is shining and a warm, humid breeze is blowing. The blue recycling bins are lining the street, (not mine, because I forgot this is pick up day), but yesterday the garbage was not picked up until the middle of the afternoon when it is usually gone by 8. Strange things are happening....

My yard crew came in the morning, and I asked Jim how far behind he was because of the rain. He said he had been doing this for twenty years and had never seen so much rain. He is still trying to catch up and get back on his regular schedule. I was planning to run some errands, but right at noon. a heavy downpour started and it lasted about thirty minutes. However, afterwards, the sun came out again, so I was able to go and do what I needed.

Then I took a ride to the Park and saw the high water and a anhinga or snake bird off in the distance. I was just in time to see one take a big dive into the water as I was coming over the bridge near my house. I saw his head pop up out of the water, but no fish in his beak, so I guess he missed his catch of the day!

I watched the Rays win last night in Baltimore and got to see the amazing catch Kevin Kiermaier made to rob a home run from the Orioles player. I have also seen the replays on TV and the internet. He is an exciting player to watch. God is good!

From the Promise Bible NLT:

Psalm 25:6-10
Remember, O Lord, your unfailing love and compassion,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Forgive the rebellious sins of my youth;
look instead through the eyes of your unfailing
love, for you are merciful, O Lord.

The Lord is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
He leads the humble in what is right,
teaching them his way.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
all those who keep his covenant and obey his decrees.

I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love and hugs,
