Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have clouds and sunshine today and the air is a couple degrees cooler. Every little bit helps!
Well, I got out to my dentist's yesterday afternoon, which is clear across town and a block from Tyrone Mall. I did not see him, but my hygienist scraped and cleaned my teeth. Now, I have never minded going to the dentist, but what I dislike is lying down in the chair and having to keep my mouth open until I nearly get a cramp in my jaw. Danielle is very thoughtful and always gives me a break, but then, back to the open mouth! I also had x-rays which are very uncomfortable. But, I am very thankful to have all but a couple of my teeth left at my advanced age!
I noticed lots of changes along 66th St. I had not been there in a long time and saw the closed Sonic is turning into what looks like a Wa-wa station. The Mexican restaurant is gone, as is the building next to it. the McDonalds was torn down and is almost finished with the rebuilding. Progress marches on!
I stopped in the park on my way home and saw my friend. David, who works there, but all was quiet compared to the rush of going home traffic on the busy streets! An oasis in the middle of a busy day! God is good!
From the Amplified Bible:
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd {to lead, guide,
and feed me}; I shall not lack.
He makes me lie down in (fresh , tender,)
green pastures. He leads me beside the
still and restful waters.
He refreshes and restores my life--my self.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
{uprightness and right standing with him--
not for my earning it, but) for His name's
sake.
Yes, though I walk through the (deep, sunless)
valley of the shadow of death, I will feel or dread
no evil, for You are with me; Your rod ( to protect)
and your staff {to guide}, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; My
(brimming) cup runs over
Surely or only goodness , mercy and unfailing love
shall follow me all the days of my life; and through
the length of days of the house of the Lord {and his
presence} shall be my dwelling place.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving , joy and love!
Love and hugs,

Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had cloudless skies most of the morning yesterday, but today, once again, we have big, puffy, white clouds. I thought surely we would have rain from the dark clouds overhead about 4 PM, but they moved off and nothing happened.around here. I am watching the weather predictions, however, about Tropical Storm, Matthew.(Bulletin! Rain is dripping off the roof as I type!)
Happy National Coffee Day! Krispy Kreme donuts is giving away free coffee with a free glazed donut today and several other places are giving away free cups. I don't drink coffee, but I like tea and some places are giving that away, too! Drink up, everybody!
I have a dentist appointment this afternoon which means going across town, which I do not look forward to, but I go every six months, to have the choppers cleaned and checked. My hygienist and Dr. Bob are a good team and always pleasant!
I drove through the park yesterday and all was still. and warm. The roots of the huge oak that went down have not been removed, yet, but are not in the way of the sidewalk, However the hedge and the smaller tree that were taken out when it fell look nude in their uncovered states. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
1 Timothy 6:17-19
Tell those who are rich in this world not
to be proud and not to trust in their money,
which will soon be gone. But their trust
should be in the living God, who richly
gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them
to use their money to do good. They should
be rich in good works and should give
generously to those in need, always being
ready to share with others whatever God has given
them. By doing this, they will be storing up
their treasure as a good foundation for the
future so that they may take hold of real life.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgivin, joy and love!

The Song of Moses
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayers Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We had a beautiful dry day yesterday. The dryer air makes a difference in how the heat affects us! I really like it!
I made a trip to the Library yesterday and on my way past Lynch Lake Park, I saw a group of ibis dozing in the sparse shade of a small tree. I guess they like an afternoon siesta, too! The air was so still that the lake looked like a mirror, and I saw the white duck in sharp contrast to the greenery all around the lake.
I washed a load of towels, but now I have to move the van over an inch so I can open the dryer door all the way. I am a little more cautious about getting too close to the furnace housing since I ripped the bumper half off! I was thinking about the wires that used to be attached to the rear fenders on cars to let the driver know where the curb was. That is probably way before most of y'all's time, but it seems to me if I could have something like that attached to the furnace housing, it would be a good warning that I am in the right spot. Sigh. I have to think of something!
Later on, I took a trip to Farm Stores to see if they had orange juice, since I did not want to get out of the car. Sure enough, they carry it, but it was an adventure getting the east Indian to understand what I wanted!
Then, coming back home, I stopped by the park, and saw a tan gopher tortoise, which I had not seen for a few weeks. He was munching on a tuft of grass and enjoying being alone, since not many people were visible at that time. But, God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Deuteronomy 32:1-4
Listen, O heavens, and I will speak!
Hear, O earth, the words that I say!
My teaching will fall on you like rain;
my speech will settle the dew.
My words will fall like rain on tender grass,
like gentle showers on young plants.
I will proclaim the name of the Lord!
How glorious is our God!
He is the Rock; His work is perfect.
Everything he does is just and fair.
He is a faithful God who does no wrong;
how just and upright he is!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

The Advantages of Companionship
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The air is pleasantly dry even though the roof is still dripping from the rain we had yesterday and apparently, last night. I put the last of my recycle stuff in the bin and got dripped on.
We had very warm weather until about noon; then a very loud thunderstorm came and lasted until school was out. Then the sun shone brightly, so I got out to go to the bank, and could see gigantic clouds in the west. Sure enough, more thunderstorms came around supper time. And it was noisy!
Daryl and Matthew drove to Knoxville Saturday to see the Gators lose to the Vols for the first time in about seven years or so, but, of course, they were hoping for a win when they went on free tickets. One large benefit of their trip was seeing Steve Spurrier and his wife ride by very close on a golf cart! The ole ball coach, himself!
The parking situation at church is improving, since Pastor Kevin's pleas for more people to park on the west side. I have found two parking spaces right away the last two Sundays, which means I can get my walker out and get into church without having to wait ten or fifteen minutes.
I drove to the park yesterday while I was out and noticed the water was up to the weir edge, after the rain. The squirrels were running about and enjoying themselves, but not many people were out and about. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two people can accomplish more than
twice as much as one: they get a better
return for their labor. If one person falls
the other can reach out and help. But people
who are alone when they fall are in real trouble.
And on a cold night, two under the same blanket
can gain warmth from each other. But how can
one be warm alone? A person standing alone
can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand
back to back and conquer. Three are even better,
for a triple- braided cord is not easily broken.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The air is still, the sun is blazing and it is another hot day in Sept.
Yesterday, as I left to go to an appointment, I noticed some dark clouds overhead and wondered if I would get in and out before rains came. I even had time to get a refreshing strawberry shake from Steak and Shake go to the park, and then home before, sure enough, we got rain for about thirty minutes! It definitely cooled things down for a bit!
I watched the new TV show, Pitch, last night. An interesting concept about the first woman pitcher in the major leagues. Other than being pretty unbelieveable, it was enjoyable. Then I flipped and watched the Rays in one of their last games. I do enjoy DeWayne and Brian's colorful banter back and forth and will miss them during the off season. I will also miss seeing Kevin Kiermaier and his incredible catches and base running!
But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 8:38-
And I am convinced that nothing can ever
separate us from his love. Death can't and
life can't. The angels can't and the demons
can't. Our fears for today. our worries about
tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't
keep God's love away. Whether we are high
above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing
in all creation will ever be able to separate us
from the love of God that is revealed in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners and Happy first day of fall! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Maybe the highs are one degree lower, but other than that, I can' feel any difference in the temps. Next month will be the changing time!
My cleaning ladies came yesterday and we had a good visit and catching up on the neighborhood goings on, We are puzzled about the condition of the neighbor to the north of me. Paramedics were there a couple evenings ago, but they come frequently. The mother is not well, but the two sons live there, and they recently lost the daughter, who was in her forties and never recovered from an auto accident. They keep to themselves and are not friendly with anyone around them, so we are at a loss as to how to help them, should they need it. Just about all we can do is pray.
This morning, I decided to take my shower before retrieving the paper and turning out the porch light, so, just as I was making my way to the front door to turn off the light, Cheryl called from across the street wanting to know if I slept late. I assured her I was on my way to the door and was just running a little late. It is good to have a caring friend who checks up on me!
Well, there is a dessert get together at church today, but I have an appointment, so I will have to miss it! Boo! I am sure it will be a good time! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 8:35-37
Can anything separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean
he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity or
are persecuted , or are hungry or cold or in danger or
threatened with death? (Even the Scriptures say, "For your sake
we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.")
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours
through Christ who loved us.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Roamin' thru Romans
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have the same weather as yesterday; heat and sun, but the promise of fall is coming. Next month the leaves on some trees will start to fall, and the air will dry out. This usually happens about Halloween; and so, we wait..
I took a ride around the neighborhood yesterday and went by the burned out house.. I had seen it burning from up in the air, via the helicopter, but was just curious about it, and yes, I felt a little guilty being just a sight seer. The clean up truck was already there, but I don't see how anyone could go inside because it looks like the roof could collapse any time. I read a tiny article in the Times that said a resident and a firefighter were injured, but no word on their condition. I pray they are all right.
I know of two other houses that have burned since I have lived in this area...one right next door back in the seventies. That one started in the garage from a car the teenager was working on. That was a big one, but it didn't take long for the house to be restored. Since then, it has changed hands a couple times.
I took a ride through the Park and saw a couple large tree trucks, working on the oaks near the entrance, but they still have not taken care of the huge stump left by the fallen tree near the entrance bridge. There were only four cars near the building and a couple parked in the circle, so all was quiet. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been made right
in God's sight by faith, we have peace with
God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord
has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ
has brought us into this place of highest
privilege where we now stand, and we confidently
and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and
trials, for we know that they are good for us---they
help us learn to endure. And endurance develops
strength of character in us, and character strengthens
our confident expectation of salvation. And this expectation
will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God
loves us , because he has given us the Holy Spirit
to fill our hearts with his love.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Knowing God
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! It was very hot all day yesterday with no rain around here. But other places had a thunderstorm or two, and that is the prediction for our weather today.
Yesterday, I got laundry done ; towels are not out of the dryer, yet) and then went shopping. As I was coming home I saw smoke billowing up near the school, and thought that must be a house on fire. Then the thought struck me! That could be my house! But, right away I realized that it was in the wrong direction to be my house, so continued on and got the items out of the car and put away. I heard a helicopter flying low and around and around, so decided to go for a ride and try to see what was going on. I circled around Lynch Lake, but did not see any thing, so came back home.
Then I turned the news on Fox 13 at 5 o'clock and found out that it was a house fire, very near here! I later saw the complete coverage on Facebook from the chopper hovering right over the house. I could see the firefighters..over a dozen going in and out, and water shooting up and out of the roof. It looked like the house was completely engulfed in flames. It was so hot, I saw one firefighter come out of the house, drop to his knees and start peeling off his gear, which was probably overheating him. They must have been about to pass out from the heat! God bless them in their dangerous work!
On a lighter note, I forgot to mention that in the gift shop at Cracker Barrel, there was a lot of stuff for Halloween, including a broom which moved by itself. Yep! I was fascinated with it and just stood watching it.. It was a round broom with cut pieces of paper for the brush, and it would move only a few inches at at time. So, I watched it while Brian checked out and told a couple other people about it as they walked by, and the broom obligingly moved for them. Cool!
I forgot to talk like a pirate and get a Krispy Kreme yesterday, so I guess I will have to just buy another pumpkin donut! But I did visit the park and while not many people were there, it looked like a man was setting up photography equipment and photos, to sell, I guess. Strange. But anyway, God is good!
from the booklet Knowing God:
Learn to Trust God
Lord, I give myself to you; my God I trust you
Psalm 25:1,2
If you want to know God, then you must learn to trust God. Yet, sometimes, when you
feel overwhelmed by fears and doubts, you'll find that trusting God is difficult. So here is
a question for you to ponder. Are you willing to trust God completely, or are you still sitting squarely on the spiritual fence? the answer to this question will determine the tone, the quality, and the direction of your life.
Trusting God means trusting Him with every aspect of your life. You must trust him with your relationships, your dreams, your finances and your career. You must follow His commandments and you must pray for His guidance.
When you trust your Heavenly Father without reservation, you can be sure that, in His own fashion and in His own time, God will reveal Himself to you in ways that you never could have imagined. So trust Him, and prepare yourself for the abundance and the joy that will most certainly be yours when you do!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it!We have blue skies and puffy clouds today and very hot temps coming up. I always look forward to October's bright, blue weather, as the poem says, because then maybe it will start cooling off! Also maybe these unexpected thunderstorms might taper off!
We had a doozy yesterday afternoon with a downpour!
We had another wonderful church service yesterday, and a new, old cross highlighted against a rippled wall. This is in place of the former cross which has been in front of the sanctuary since it was built. Changes are still being made and they all seem good.
Yesterday when I walked in, the crowd noise hit me. Lots of first service people standing around enjoying each others' company. And two former members who left several years ago, and were among the first group of founding people were back for their second visit. I was so glad to see them and they said they will continue to visit.
I think I need to get a horn or bell for my walker, because unless someone "breaks trail" for me, it is difficult to get through the crowd. My friend, Kathy, always looks out for me as do most other friends.
Brian took me to lunch at Cracker Barrel Saturday, where we sat through paramedics going into the kitchen to tend to a young, 19, year old man, who had a seizure. Our server said he had had them before, but the medics put him on a gurney and took him out to the ambulance. Meanwhile, about two dozen Army people in camos were eating across the aisle from our table. They might have been reservists, but anyway, I was able to thank a couple for their service, as they left.
It was an interesting weekend, but I was disappointed that the Packers lost last night. I was very impressed by Sam Bradford of the Vikings, though. He made some really good passes. Unfortunately, one of the players interfered with Aaron Rodgers's receiver so many times, he was not able to complete his passes! Oh, well, maybe they will do better next week. But God is good! (And the Gators won!!)
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 16:5-8
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my
cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
The land you have given me is a pleasant
land.
What a wonderful inheritance!
I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken , for he is right
beside me.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

We had a doozy yesterday afternoon with a downpour!
We had another wonderful church service yesterday, and a new, old cross highlighted against a rippled wall. This is in place of the former cross which has been in front of the sanctuary since it was built. Changes are still being made and they all seem good.

Promised Rest
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Even though it was predicted, we had no rain yesterday, so the same weather report stands today. We did have more wind than usual, but nothing more than a welcome breeze. But, believe me, that sun is hot!
This is the day that the harvest moon is full, so it should be beautiful tonight. Hopefully, I will be able to see it through all the trees around here. Speaking of trees, I noticed as I drove through the Park yesterday that the large oak which fell over took out the hedge which grew around the well and tank where all the water came from for the sprinklers which are never used now. It really looks bare now. In that one spot.
I discovered that my van was completely details inside and out before it was returned to me after the bumper was fixed! I did not expect that, but it looks so spiffy, now. I appreciate Carlos for the work he did on the car! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Hebrews 4:12.13
For the Word of God is full of living
power. It is sharper than the sharpest
knife, cutting deep into our innermost
thoughts and desires. It exposes us for
what we really are.Nothing in all creation
can hide from him. Everything is naked
and exposed before his eyes. This is the
God to whom we must explain all we have done.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

God Answers Prayers
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I thought we had some rain last night, but everything was dry this morning, so apparently what I thought I heard was not rain. It is still predicted, though. However, there are lots of white, puffy clouds and brilliant hot sun for us to enjoy.
I stripped the bed this morning and still have not made it up, but I am not in any hurry. It will be done before I climb into it tonight. I had to move the van over a little so I could get the dryer door open. I need some kind of bell or pad or something to put on the furnace housing so I don't run into it any more.
Speaking of that, I returned the huge mini-van and got my Odyssey back last evening. It looks beautiful! Carlos, who was in charge of the crew repairing it, made it a point to have me look at the excellent job they did on the bumper. It looks brand new! He said I would probably get a quiz mailed to me asking questions about the work, etc, and wanted me to be sure to mark "excellent" because he needed all the excellent marks he can get. That will not be a problem, because he did do great work! He was funny.
Since it was almost time to eat, when I got home, I just drove on to Wendy's and got a chicken sandwich and salad for my supper. . I also made a trip to the library to collect more reading material.. It was a busy afternoon with the cleaning ladies here, also. God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
1 Chronicles 4:9-12
There was a man named Jabez who
was more distinguished than any of
his brothers. His mother named him
Jabez because his birth had been so
painful. He was the one who prayed to
the God of Israel." Oh, that you would bless
me and extend my lands! Please be with
me in all that I do, and keep me from all
trouble and pain!" And God granted him
his request.

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I did not hear it, but there must have been a pretty good rain last night, because the porch was wet this morning. It looks like the water will be a long time draining out of the gutters by the street, because they still have not dried up from last week's rain.
I am hoping I hear something from the shop today; hopefully, that my van is ready. They told me two days, but I don't know if that included Monday or not. My van is old and needs work, but it is comfortable to me, and I am used to the way it operates. The spiffy looking Town and Country is too big for me to feel comfortable, as I said yesterday. Simple things for simple folks! That's me!
My Bird of Paradise has several blooms on it now, and the crepe Myrtle is winding down for the fall. The pink blooms are almost gone, but my, how it has grown this summer, since being trimmed all the way back last fall!
I forgot to mention that Sunday, on the way to church, I drove by Lynch Lake Park, and saw a large flock of ibis gathered on one side of the lake and right in the middle, was a roseate spoonbill! The pink was outstanding ! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 112:1
Happy are those who fear the Lord.
Yes, happy are those who delight in doing
what he recommends.
Their children will be successful everywhere;
and entire generation of godly people will
be blessed.
They themselves will be wealthy,
and their good deeds will never be forgotten.
When darkness overtakes the godly light
will come bursting in.
They are generous, compassionate and righteous.
All goes well for those who are generous,
who lend freely and conduct their business fairly.
Such people will not be overcome by evil
circumstances...
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Love fulfills...
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! this is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We did not get any rain yesterday, even though threatening clouds were hanging right over us about supper time last night. This morning we have sun and lots of puffy, white clouds, but thunderstorms are predicted again. More moisture is coming our way because of that disturbance in the Atlantic.
Well, Yesterday at this time I had already been to the Collision Center at Maher to drop off my van so the front bumper could be fixed, and I now have a large, black, shiny Town and Country parked in the garage. It is a 2017 model, so it has the backup camera which comes on automatically when the car is in reverse.
Whoo, hoo! I am not comfortable driving it because it steers easily, stops with little pressure on the brakes and is easy to speed because of the sensitive accelerator..all the things I have to use muscle on on my old van. It is also higher than my Honda, so I have to lift the walker up more to slide it in. If I were to buy a new van or Suv, it would not be this one, because it is too big for me.
That collision center is a busy place! They have about 6 crew chiefs ..mine was named Carlos, and they all take care of different damaged parts, I guess. The Enterprise rep had an office right there and took care of my needs very efficiently. I had my choice of cars, which surprised me. Apparently they had a lot available! I was told I would get a Kia, but surprise! I got the Town and Country instead. I don't intend to drive it much.
As I said before; I am a people watcher, so I enjoyed myself while in the waiting room, watching different people come in and go out, getting on with their busy days. Some of them spoke and some didn't, some drinking coffee, and having breakfast, and others tending to business on cell phones.
But everything was handled efficiently and I was on my way! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Romans 13:8-10
Pay all your debts, except the debt of love
for others. Your can never finish paying that!
If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill all
the requirements of God's law. For the
commandment against adultery and murder
and stealing and coveting---and any other
commandment ---are all summed up in this
one commandment: "Love your neighbor as
yourself." Love does no wrong to anyone, so
love satisfies all of God's requirements.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers wirh thanksgiving, joy and love!

Paul's Final Thoughts
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! We have more sun and it is just a tad cooler..not so you would notice it much, but after all the moist air from Hermine, the dryer air is really welcome! (Or should that be "drier"?
Well, another tree man stopped by yesterday. Supposedly he was going to be working in back of my property and wanted permission to come in the backyard if necessary to clean up, but I have no trees from the neighbor's hanging over my back fence, so that may have been just a line to get more business from me. I have a call in to the recommended tree man from my friend, Mari, but I'll have to call again, since I have not heard from him. yet.
My cleaning team was here yesterday and when I told them about the claims adjuster, they wanted to know why I did not call them over. I told them they were not home at the time. (Besides I did not want to share him :o) ) And then, last night at 9:30 my friend, Ray, came from a meeting at church and fastened up the plastic liner from the front bumper of the van, so I will be able to drive it today! I am so thankful for him!
I am still waiting for the yard crew to come. I think either they are backed up, or have problems with the equipment which has happened before. Hopefully, they will come soon
Well, Tim Tebow has been signed with the Mets to learn to play outfielder in the instructional league. Good for him and them! He deserves something positive in his life, since he is such an inspiration to others, and does so much with his Tebow Foundation! I wish him all the best!
God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Philippians 4:4-9
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it
again--rejoice! Let everyone see that you
are considerate in all you do. Remember
the Lord is coming soon.
Don't worry about anything, instead, pray about
everything. Tell God what you need, and thank
him for all he has done. If you do this, you will
experience God's peace, which is far more
wonderful than the human mind can understand.
His peace will guard your hearts and minds as
you trust in Christ Jesus...
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Wings as Eagles
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The air is about one degree cooler these days and darkness comes earlier in the evening, so fall is slowly creeping up on us. The sun is still very hot and probably will be for another month or so, but this is Florida!
I don't quite know how I will take the van out today, because the plastic liner in the bumper came loose yesterday and is touching the street. I am going to try to reach it with my grabber and see if it gives, otherwise, I will just wait for Ray to come by this evening and see if he can take care of it.
The Geico claims adjuster came by yesterday to assess the damage and, Oh, My!, he was a gorgeous young man! He did not think the damage was serious and snapped the bumper back in place, even though some of the bolts are still out. I have an appointment with Maher collision center for Monday, so I will have to drive it the rest of the week as is.
I had an appointment with my Chiropractor yesterday afternoon, and afterwards, drove to the Park just in time to see the tree guys working on the huge oak that blew over during the storm. It certainly did not take them long to get the huge limbs sawed through and cut up, leaving piles of sawdust! They certainly got a lot of mulch out of that once beautiful tree! They probably had a lot of work to do at the other County parks, too.
My yard is still messy, since my yard crew did not come yesterday, but I expect them today. they are probably trying to catch up since the storm kept them from working much for a week.
The yard is still very wet and they will most likely leave grooves from the heavy riding mower they use. Oh, well...
Yesterday when I opened the front door, a little, fat frog hopped across the mat to see if any bugs were leftover from the night light. Unfortunately, he leaves his calling cards all over the place, as do the lizards who gather under the light! But, God is still good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Isaiah 40:27-31
O Israel, how can you say the Lord does
not see your troubles?
Have you never heard or understood? Don't
you know that the Lord is the Everlasting God,
the Creator of all the earth? He never grows
faint or weary. No one can measure the depth
of his understanding. He gives power to those
who are tired and worn out;. he offers strength
to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted,
and young men will give up. But those who wait
on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly
high on wings like eagles. They will run and not
grow weary. they will walk and not faint.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Psalm 150
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! I hope you all had enjoyable Labor Day weekends and are ready to face whatever lies ahead the rest of the week. We had a small thunderstorm around supper time yesterday, but otherwise, it was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine to dry things out a bit.
I did not leave the house because I did a dumb thing and ran into my furnace housing in the garage and half ripped my front bumper off. Ray looked at it at church and I think he bent the corner so the bumper did not stick out.It is driveable , but he said the bumper could come off while I was driving and that scared me. I have made arrangements with Geico to have it fixed and get a rental car, but that will have to wait until after I have an appointment with my chiropractor this afternoon. Sigh.
But the good news is...my nephew will be moving out of rehab and into his own place to continue rehab for his leg at home.
And more good news, the second cousin from England who came over for vacation back in May, and his sweet wife, are expecting their first child! Adam is the one who uncovered all my unknown relatives on my father's side of the family! I now know of cousins all over the world! My father came from a large farm family...
I already had a tree man stop by this morning looking for work. He said he had trimmed my trees two years ago. I remember his card and his name, but don't remember that he did any work for me.
I told him I had another tree man to get an estimate from. which I do, and would let him know.
All these decisions! But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 150
Praise God in his heavenly dwelling.
Praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works.
praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the trumpet.
praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals!
Let everything that lives sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!

Thoughts
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! Well, I know it is hard to rejoice when you are flooded in or have large trees fall on your house, but God is in control!
I am really tired of this rain and wind but thankful that I am snug inside and that my untrimmed trees stayed strong, and only small twigs and branches are littering the front yard. Across the street in Cheryl's yard a large branch from a maple tree, I think, is draped over her fence and another large one is in her front yard. She has a pool in the back and it is probably full of leaves and trash.
We still have a band of the hurricane hanging over us, and more rain and wind is expected today. Schools are still closed, but I think most businesses are still open.
I have the protection of a huge, tall hedge on the north side of my house. It belongs to my neighbors and keeps any grass from growing because of the shade, and of course, my handyman has to trim it periodically, but in times like these, it makes a good wind brake.
We have no flooding in this neighborhood, and, as far as I know everyone around here is okay, so that is a good thing. Plus the power is on! God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 34:8-10
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!
Let the Lord's people show him reverence,
for those who honor him will have all
they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry.
But those who trust in the Lord will never
lack any good thing.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
Love and hugs,
Amaryllis

Psoaring thru Psalms
Good Morning, Dear Friends and Prayer Partners! This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it! The wind is picking up, but so far, we have no rain this morning, although it is predicted to start this afternoon. There was so much rain yesterday that the water treatment plants are are maximum capacity. so everyone is urged to conserve water, no dishwashers no laundry, shower with a friend...wait! Just kidding about the shower!
I was watching Kelly Ripa with Josh Groban as her co-host this morning, so I am late with this blog. I really like Josh Groban and he is very funny when he is not singing. So, I took time to just enjoy the banter.
My cleaning ladies came in the rain yesterday and got rained on coming in the door with all their equipment. They did not seem to mind, and wanted to know the progress of the storm, so I turned on the TV for them. They did their usual good job and then loaded up their SUV in the rain and took off.
Well, I see from my window that the wind is picking up. I need to get my oaks trimmed, because a couple limbs are hanging down pretty far. I am not sure who to call, so I guess I will ask around for someone who is good and reliable. But God is good!
From the Promise Bible NLT:
Psalm 34:1-7
I will praise the Lord at all times.
I will constantly speak his praises.
I will boast only in the Lord,
Let all who are discouraged take heart.
Come, let us tell of the Lord's greatness;
Let us exalt his name together.
I prayed to the Lord and he answered me,
freeing me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help will be
radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
I cried out to the Lord in my suffering and
he heard me.
He set me free from all my fears.
For the angel of the Lord guards all who fear him.
and He rescues them.
I always give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers with thanksgiving, joy and love!
